Car will slow crank randomly, it does it completely intermittent, even when its cold or hot, the fuel pump works perfectly, the starter is new, it has new crank and cam sensors, the battery and alternator are in working fine, the spark plugs and ignition coils are brand new, it has been doing this since I first bought it, it had 148,000 miles, sometimes I had to push the key twice or more, the engine will crank with the starter but will simply not turn on, after I do it twice or more then it starts, I have tried every trick in the book to see if it stops happening randomly, I just want this car to work fine or just not work at all, I dont like this game. I have had over three professional mechanics take a look at it and nobody knows what it is, it just does it whenever it wants. No matter the weather or engine temperature or voltage or fuel pressure,

1. car randomly has slow acceleration problems. I can turn off the car, wait a few minutes and it begins working ok again. 2. car sometimes randomly loses power with no warning. 3. sometimes if it stalls and eventually cranks up, the vehicle experiences slow acceleration issues again but then the check engine light comes on. I have taken taken this car to the shop repeated and they don't pull anything on the diagnostic tests. No problem can be found. I have replaced the battery, changed our can sensor, cleaned the throttle body, everything seems good for a little while (few days or couple of weeks) and then the problem happens again. I read in various forums that this has been an issue happening with many Altima for various model years. I don't understand why this issue has not called for a national recall. This is ridiculous!!! my friend also has a 2006 Altima and her car has begun to do the exact same thing!. please help. The first time it lost power it was during a morning commute to work while driving on the California 91 freeway! it really terrified me because I could have been killed or involved in a very bad accident. Most recent incident happened last week. I am afraid to drive on the freeway or long distances. I had to rent a car for the weekend because I had to work today, and being Saturday, the commuter bus that I now take to work because I don't trust my car, does not run on the weekends. I want to get a new car but can't afford having monthly payments again. I didn't start having any problems with the car until it was paid off.

My 2006 Nissan Altima failed the yearly Massachusetts inspection. The passenger side floorboard was rusted and needed to be repaired to pass inspection. In speaking with the mechanic, this is a known issue for Altima. I wanted to add my complaint to the 100S of others who have had to repair this vehicle defect without any warning or help from Nissan. Thank goodness for an alert mechanic!

Crankshift sensor failure causes car to jerk and then shut down without any notice an warning. Several 100S of people have the same issue and 2006 models had recalls but special editions were not included. It is so unsafe and various people have gotten close to horrible accidents due to it. Something should be done!

"takata recall" I need to file a complaint against Nissan for the following problems, first is the paint in my car. I just purchased my car 2 years ago at a dealer and the cars paint and clear is fading and my car looks ugly, I have quoted at a paint body shop and they trying to charge $800 or more. I am still paying this car and don't appreciate that I have to pay for something that is a defect from the company. The headlight are awful and I can barely see at night or specially in the rain and afraid to use the high beams to prevent accidents.

The floor boards are rusting out on our car. You can see the carpet padding from the bottom of the car. This is extremely unsafe. This is occurring on the passenger side as well. We always maintain our vehicles and this situation is very alarming to us.

Had normally scheduled maintenance performed on 2006 Altima to include tire rotation. Discovered that the floor boards on front on both sides are completely rusted through, I can see the carpet. Will not pass inspection, have contacted a garage for repair costs. My car is carport kept, I wash weekly and is kept spotless. After reading the many, many complaints Nissan needs to take action. I have driven Nissan for 25 years, even my 14 yr. Old Sentra wasn't rusted when I sold it.
