The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. While driving at approximately 20 mph, the hood erroneously unlatched and opened, obstructing the view of the driver. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the hood latch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact received a notice for NHTSA campaign number: 14V565000(latches/locks/linkages) after the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 34,222.
