I began doing research after my vehicle did this to me the other day twice. While driving between 40-50 mph the car just shut off. Lights illumined on the dash board and thankfully I did have power steering and brakes so I was able to coast onto the side of the road and restart the vehicle in park however this could be a dangerous and deadly situation to either me or innocent bystanders/drivers. From what I have been reading this is a common problem in Nissan.

The rear suspension on our vehicle detached unexpectedly and without warning while we were driving. The vehicle was driving straight on a city street. Thankfully no one was injured. Once the vehicle no longer in motion it was apparent that the rear control arm / rear suspension had detached from excessive rusted. The vehicle is a 2013 with no outer body rust. It seems like this could be a defect as well as a significant safety issue.

I bought a 2013 Nissan Altima in 2017. 4 months after the purchase with only 65,000 miles the car stalled in the middle of the highway with my children in it. I was able to get it restarted and the next day while working the transmission gave out in the middle of a parking lot. The cvt transmission was replaced at the Nissan dealership. Now 65,000 miles later the new cvt transmission died while I had a youth client in my car for work. This is extremely unsafe for a transmission to fail at the drop of a hat in the middle of the road. There is currently a class action suit against Nissan due to this issue. This is effecting my work and is not a reliable car. This needs to be recalled. Also the air compressor is an issue as well. This also needs recalled. There are hundreds of people who are experiencing these issues. What if the car would stop in the middle of a road and someone would hit me while I am with my children or a client? this needs to be looked into please. Because Nissan is refusing to help me at all for this second transmission that is only 2 years old!!!!

Takata recall: While driving on a paved road at a speed of about 45 mph, the right rear subframe failed catastrophically due to apparent corrosion. The failure occurred at the location of the bushing to the frame. The result was that the rear wheel offset and control of the vehicle was compromised. This is a historic problem with Nissan and they have not addressed the problem with the new model in 2013. It is unsafe and unfair that owners pay for Nissan's refusal to address the problem. More photos will be available when the subframe is removed.

Rear control arm on my Nissan Altima 2013 came apart on an interstate pushing me on to the left lane almost at 65 mph. Got really scared as I usually drive with my new born but luckily he was not in the car when this happened. The car has less than 60K miles and I had to replace them on both sides on the rear as they mentioned the other one too is going to break soon. Really disappointed as had to make a huge repair spending 1300 bucks for a car that is only used to run few errands over the weekend as I commute on train for work.

My Nissan Altima 2013 2.5S has started having this issue - often the gear stick will get stuck in park mode and won't come out. This happens especially when the car is started. Screw driver or a sharp item needs to be used to release the shift lock. This is painful and it can occur anytime. I took to dealer. Dealer said it could cost more than 500$ to fix the shift lock. When searching in the internet, many Nissan Altima cars have this issue. Below web page shows all Nissan Altima owners have complained about the same issue. Https://www.carcomplaints.com/Nissan/Altima/2013/transmission/gear_shift_stuck_in_park.shtml considering this as an issue for many cars, Nissan should issue a recall on this. I hope filing here will help all Nissan Altima owners to get a relief on this issue. Please help. Thanks

I was driving on the freeway and my car just started to lose power, in a speed zone of 60mph my car was quickly dropping speed/power. No check engine like came on, nor had any signs of my car needing service came up, nothing. When I would try speeding up it started to make a rattling noise, still less power. I pulled over on the side of the freeway because there were cars coming very fast and once I pressed on my brake to make the stop, my car stalled. It wouldn't turn on anymore and I had to leave my car there. This was seriously such a safety issue, this happened at night time when I was traveling. I've read very similar issues with the year and model of my car online about it being a problem with the transmission. I don't know why there isn't a recall if it's such a dangerous issue. My car has just been parked for 6 weeks because no check engine light will come on and it's driving 'normal', but I'm not taking that risk again of driving it.

Not 2 years yet of ownership and my car decides to not accelerate on me. I would have to floor it to get it to finally kick in and drive until I stopped at the next light. There were no warning lights or anything letting me know of any problems. Had 2 near collisions with my family in the car trying to get my car to the dealer to have it checked out. Dealer thought it was transmission and alternator but upon warranty rep diagnosing vehicle, it was decided that it needed a new alternator. Was without my vehicle for almost 3 days but put in a rental from their dealer which wasn't any better with a constant noise while driving. A couple of months later the same thing happened again as I was getting on the freeway after work with my son. Had to get off and drive to the dealer. Apparently, they fixed the wrong thing. A few days after picking up my vehicle from getting the check engine light fixed, the check engine light went on again. Didn't note anything major while driving but was just awful having to take back the vehicle when I had just picked it up literally 2-3 days before. The dealer kept my vehicle through the holidays and it took them 3 days to determine what was wrong with it. I was finally told that I needed a throttle chamber replaced. Was never told what the part was responsible for doing and why it wasn't found when they had it previously. Still not 2 years of owning the vehicle. Personally, too many issues with my 2013 Altima vehicle in less than 2 years and Nissan Consumer Affairs keeps washing their hands of any defect or lemon law. These things which I have experienced are not little or minor by no means and have endangered myself and my family, especially the incidents with the alternator and the mas sensor. Need someone with common sense and a true feeling of caring for their customer's safety to replace my vehicle before something worse happens.
