Lights are extremely dim! I can't see at night without using high beams. I have bought new bulbs (led) without a solution. Dealership solution is to pay $1000+ to get new headlights. Many other Altima owners are experiencing the same issue.

Low beam headlights have deteriorated to the point the car cannot E driven at night. The bulbs were replaced twice with no improvement. Adjusting the bulbs also did not improve the illumination. The car is unsafe to drive at night and the car has been parked for the last four weeks. It's obviously an engineering flaw the consumer should not pay for. You can't value engineer safety. I contacted Nissan to see if they will do the right thing and replace the headlight assemblies. In closing the turn signal bulbs produce more light than the low beam headlights.

Both low beam, headlamps in my 2014 Altima are extremely dim. I first noticed it about two years ago and has become significantly worse over time. I have replaced the bulbs with oem and high end (brighter) bulbs to no avail. The external assembly plastic is not that faded and even tried buffing it. That did not work either. It's dangerous to drive at night. It is extremely difficult to see at night unless the high beams are on.

Main headlights are extremely dim. They have gotten progressively worse over the past two years and now help almost not at all. If I did not have fog lights I would have to drive with the high beams on in order to see at night.

My headlights are very dim I have replaced them both which has not helped and know they have both went out and I have to drive with my hi beams on at all times. Which prior to them going out I drove with hi beams just to see. Very in safe driving conditions. I have spoke with Nissan regarding this and they tell me they have had no complaints regarding my year or model. Basically they don't have any clue what I'm talking about.

The projectors in the headlight assemblies have failed after a couple years. The low beams are so dim that we can barely see at night time. We have replaced the bulbs with numerous different bulbs and the bulbs are not the problem, it is the projectors in the headlight assemblies. As can be found online, this is something that is happening a lot with the 5th generation Altima. A recall needs to be issued as this is very clearly a safety related problem if you cannot see at night. This is a manufacturing and design flaw.

I was driving the car one evening and when the headlights automatically came on I noticed they were significantly dimmer then normal. I rode about a week or so with the dim headlights and it appeared that they were gradually getting dimmer until one of the bulbs eventually went out. I had both bulbs replaced and the headlights remained severly dim. So dim that there is no light being emitted onto the road and I have to use high beams when traveling after dark.

About three years into owning my brand new 2014 Nissan Altima I began to realize how incredibly dark the roads were becoming when I would drive at night in front of me. I thought at first I needed new prescription glasses but when I begin needing to use my brights for regular nighttime driving in the city I knew there was a problem. Then, both my brother and father on separate occasions pointed out how dangerously dim my headlights were. After that, I knew it was not just my eyes seeing darkly. I begin to do research on this issue and found out the headlight barrel unit corrodes after just a few years of ownership in the Nissan 2013 to 2015 models. I have tried changing the headlights and found this to be useless, proving the point of other owners. It is incredibly disappointing that it is incredibly disappointing that such integral safety/vision facets of my car are useless. I feel completely uncomfortable driving at night and I have normally very great vision. If my car can't shine lights in front of me, that is a huge concern, and this issue within the Altima models can get someone killed.

The passenger side headlight is too dim. There is no light coming put of the headlight assembly. I thought it was weak bulb and had it replaced but the problem didnot go away. Went to Nissan dealer who told this is a known problem in Altima and no recall hs been ordered. They were not sure of solution but told whole console chnage may solve the issue. Right now I need to put high beams on as only driver side headlight gives right amount of light. The passenger light is on but nothing can be seen. The headlight panel is clean and clear but no light comes out.

The low beam headlights are very dim, projecting only 2-3 feet in front of the vehicle. Replacing the bulbs does not help. The reflective coating on the projection lens has worn off causing the light beam to not project well. This creates very poor visibility and is a safety hazard.

Vehicle has terrible visibility at night when in motion. The vehicle has an inferior headlight assembly, causing you to drive nearly blind and to almost rely on the next vehicle in front of you to provide you a path. I initially thought it was the headlight bulbs that were the issue. I had changed them out and it only improved visibility ever so slightly. I was told by the Nissan dealership that it is due to the headlight assembly frequently going bad. They told me that it is fairly common for the reflective part of the headlight assembly to go cloudy and go dim. They told me that since this was considered standard wear and tear, therefore not covered by warranty. They recommended me to replace the whole headlight assembly for over a grand. I was even recommended to buy them after market to save, however, this should not even be an issue! this issue presented itself after owning it from new for about 5 years. This is a known issue that Nissan is refusing to address this issue. I have never experienced this type of issue with any other vehicle that I have owned. This is a hazard and can certainly cause safety hazards for the driver.

Regular (low beam) headlights are extremely dim, despite me cleaning the exterior of the headlights and replacing the bulbs. Yesterday in North raleigh, nc, I ran over a low concrete divider separating the main traffic lanes and a turn lane, because I couldn't see it at all. The dimness seems to be particularly bad for peripheral lighting (which makes sense giving my example above, changing from one lane to another, and not seeing the concrete divider at all). From researching this issue online, this problem seems very common among 2013-2015 Altima owners - apparently the headlight assembly's projection system degrades or wears out.

Low beam headlights became extremely dim over time. My Altima currently registers 135,000 miles. I did not notice the problem because I drive the vehicle daily. However my wife, who does not drive it regularly, has mentioned the dimness to me on multiple occasions. Initially I believed the problem rested with the bulbs; however, replacing those did not improve light brightness. After an online search, it appears that the problem may be due to heat induced clouding of the projector lens. Neither headlamp assembly has been compromised. I believe that such equipment is durable in nature and that, unless damaged, should last the life of the vehicle. Finally, I've noticed that th problem is so severe that low beam light from vehicles behind me cast more light than my own low beams. Indeed I can easily see the shadow of my vehicle which is casted from the low beams of the vehicles behind me. This is a severe safety problem for me, other drivers, pedestrians, etc. It deserves the immediate attention of the NHTSA. This problem is an issue at night time, particularly when in motion since reaction time may be insufficient to avert and accident or incident

The headlight assembly needs recalled asap! I noticed that the headlights appeared much dimmer so I replaced the bulbs twice but it isn't a problem with the bulb. It doesn't matter if you get better bulbs, the headlight projector will not project light forcing you to drive with the high beams on. It is dangerous! my son was pulled over driving my car one night because the officer said it didn't look like he had headlights and advised him to drive with the bright high beam lights on. I've researched this issue and it seems that literally hundreds of people have complained about this issue but Nissan is doing nothing to correct the problem! I've always bought Nissan but all the issues I have had with this car, I will never buy another one! this has been an ongoing problem that I have dealt with now for two years and since Nissan won't issue a recall, I'm forced to purchase new headlight assembly's for the car.

Low beam headlights do not project light onto the road making a huge safety hazard for drivers. The mirror reflectors inside the headlight assembly are burned and corroded making the low beam light ineffective. From the driver seat you cannot see any light on the roadway, and have to use the high beam lights just to see what is in front of the vehicle. It is really evident on roadways with no street lights as it feels like driving with the lights off on the vehicle. I have tried new bulbs, higher intensity bulbs, and leds with no success. My only option is to replace the whole headlight assembly at a substantial expense on a vehicle which is only 5 years old.
