My low beams are so low it does not look like they are on at night. This is very unsafe. If I drive the vehicle at night I have to use my high beams which is not safe for other drivers on the road. I live in Florida & it rains a lot. I can't see with my low beams and other drivers can not see me. I am afraid I may get in an accident if only using my low beams or receive a ticket for driving with my high beams.

I cannot recall the exact date, but late 2018/early 2019, while driving down a residential street I noticed how dim my headlights were. Being that my car is a 2015 model, I naively equated it to age and lightbulb dimness; which was not the case. I swapped head light bulbs, to no avail; I opted for the most expensive head light bulb in autozone, but still hella dim. In my most recent visit to sheehy Nissan service, a recommended service is to "replace headlight assembly/bad reflections." In addition to the service being recommended, I was informed that it has been a problem voiced to service techs by many other 2015 Nissan Altima owners.

I bought my 2015 Nissan Altima with 3000 miles. Practically brand new in 0ctober that same year. About a year after I noticed my headlights were not as strong as they were before. I figured the bulbs were beginning to burn out. So I upgraded them to an led H11 bulb as that is the bulb the manual says is required. These bulbs were not overly expensive but they weren't cheap either. I did a lot of research before buying. About another year later. They began to go dim as well. At this point it's 2018 and I cannot drive at night anymore. Replacing the assembly through Nissan which they recommend but will not acknowledge this problem would cost me about $1000+their taxes. It is very dangerous to drive with this vehicle on the road. Visibility at night is about close to zero. I can't even pick up my family and go anywhere because it just isn't safe to do so. I have to make trips during the daylight and before it gets dark to avoid driving dangerously into the night. I wear glasses and contacts and I use others driving near and their headlights to see better than my own car. That is ridiculous. I have called Nissan to address this issue and they want to run a diagnostic and possibly replace them for over $1200 which includes the diagnostic. They need to be looked into quickly because my vehicle is almost paid off for but is too dangerous to even drive anymore. It's a cheaply made vehicle and it should be illegal for them to put something on a market like this. How have there been no recalls yet for this? this is a direct violation of the NHTSA.

Hello, I drive a 2015 Nissan Altima S with 115,000 miles on it. The other night I was pulled over for not having my headlights on. The thing is, my headlights were on. My headlights are so incredibly dim (as a result of a factory defect in my vehicle) that the police officer behind me couldn't tell that they were on. I was given a warning and told that I need to address this problem. I have tried to address this issue in the past. I've been to the Nissan dealership twice about this, both times I was told that this is a well known issue but there is nothing that can be done besides changing the entire headlight assembly. Even if I do, I was told, this problem will likely happen again. The plastic that immediately surrounds my headlight is cheap, and as it heats up, it produces a gas that fogs up the entire headlight. The left headlight is completely useless and the right one I have around 3 feet of visibility. This has been happening since my car had 25,000 miles on it and I am fed up with it. It is too dangerous for me to drive at night without my high beams on. I know this is happening to lots of other people too. Vehicle in motion, highway and city street driving. The low-beam headlights are dangerously dim. If driving on a road not otherwise lighted by streetlamps, nearly impossible to see the road ahead. High-beams always have to be used. Checked ground wire, replaced bulbs with no improvement. This has been an issues for a well over a year.

The front headlights are so dim it makes seeing very difficult. This is a known problem with Nissan. The 3rd lane turned into a turn lane on a city street that I couldnt see due to the poor lighting and we struck a curb blowing out both right side tires and ruining the wheels.

Over a short period of time (aprox. 2 years), the headlight low-beam output has decreased to unsafe levels. At night, it is hard to tell if the headlight are even on, because they do not seem to light up the road at all. I have attempted to change the bulbs, and cleaning the lens, but neither has helped. I looked further into the issue, and it appears the reflector material inside the projector headlight has burnt off from regular use in the 2 years that I owned the car (purchased new), there is almost no reflective material left in the projector headlight. I checked with Nissan dealership, and that isn't something that is covered by any of the warranties, there is also no recall for this part which I find completely unacceptable. Every single 2014+ Altima that I see on the street appears to have the same issue, the road in front of the car isn't lit, and I am sure it is also due to the burned off reflectors in their headlights as well.

The low beam drivers headlight has become very dim. The bulbs were replaced with the same halogen type, but there was no difference. The headlamp appears to be clouded on the inside lens. The exterior headlamp surface is clear. This is happening all the time.
