Engine RPM is uncontrollable engine light came on at 87781 miles no problems before this failure because I was not aware of this manufacturer failure I have exceeded my extended warranty by 3K miles and now I'm in a bad position to deal with this, I still owe on this car.this is very shameful for letting Nissan get away with this defect, now we the consumers have to pay.

I have a 2016 Nissan Altima. First: I was involved in an accident in which a regular truck hauling an enclosed trailer drove over a large piece of plywood on the interstate at 70mph in front of me (also going about 70 mph) causing the piece of plywood to raise off of the road after he cleared it and it flew into the front of my vehicle and bounced up onto the hood and then hit the roof before flying off of my car. During this process, pieces of the plywood became stuck in the grill area of my car. There were no injuries, thankfully, but I am concerned the airbags did not deploy. Second: I've had this car since July of 2019. Over the past 6 months I have noticed that when I press the gas, the rpms rise but the transmission takes a bit to shift into gear causing a lag in acceleration. I have also noticed that if I am at a light or a stop and shift into drive sport, it doesn't do this. I have gotten in the habit of shifting into the sport mode when accelerating from a stop sign or red light. Third: My daughter was hit today by a truck crossing lanes to turn in front of her. She was traveling at appx 35 mph. The truck hit my passenger side front area, destroying my headlight, bumper, and grill. It was hit hard and the airbags did not deploy. The seatbelt did not lock, causing her to bounce forward and smack her head on the steering wheel. I am concerned now about the seatbelts and airbags and am more worried that they are defective after reading other complaints about these same issues. I love my car, but it doesn't seem to be very safe at all.

When ever I'm at a light to long, the cars been running for a while, or I'm in the drive thru the car takes a couple seconds to accelerate. I've brought it to the dealership twice and they updated the computer system. They can't recreate the problem. This is a repeated problem

Transmission is going out at 53,000 miles. The car will not accelerate properly even though RPM is revving there is no power to the car. Very dangerous when making turns out in front of oncoming traffic because when you go to turn car loses power so you can easily get T- boned.the car has even turned off completely while driving down the highway losing all power inside the vehicle. This occurred before the transmission problems at about 40,000 miles.

2016 Nissan Altima-my problem is this: It runs great when I can get it to run.then after sitting for a little bit, I go out and push the button-its completely dead! I give it a jump thinking maybe its the battery-nope-still dead. Have taken it to the shop-they had it for a week no problem-the very next day it was dead!!theres nothing-no clicking or anything.I am heading back to dealership tomorrow to see what they can do.it happened to me once at the gas station but luckily it worked when I gave it a jump.I was just curious to see if anyone else has this problem. After stopping and going a decent amount (such as a drive thru) the car has a delay of shifting gears and starting to move after completely stopped. I am not sure what is wrong with my vehicle. The rpms will go significantly up before increasing speed. It will do this on slow or fast roads.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 53,000.

Last summer I had an issue with the butterfly valve on the exhaust system. It was a Saturday, I was on my way to work and the only place that was open and the closest was the Nissan dealership. I took it in there they fixed it, but the repairs were over 1 grand. I don't have that kind of money lying around so I called Nissan corporate to ask if I can have financial assistance. They said because I don't service my car at the dealership they can not finance me and help me with it. The Nissan dealership is out of my way to get it serviced. Second issue started recently and that is when I am driving my car there is not very good acceleration and once I hit 20 mph I start to hear a whining noise. I did some digging in several online forums and those with similar issues have been told its the cvt transmission. Last week I barley went over 73,000 miles on my odometer. I do not have money to replace an entire transmission, nor do I really care to. I will never purchase another Nissan as long as I live. There cooperate customer service sucks as well as there cvt transmissions!!

Check engine light came on twice within 3 months of using this car. And it was one of the severe types of illness the car has, if not fixed I could've been stuck on a remote area with no phone reception, which where I live by the way. The car had a slow acceleration, when I stopped on a stop light/sign. Had that fixed on December right before christmas week, but engine light came on again after 2 weeks of driving it, car won't shift gears again, slow acceleration, probably has something to do with its transmission etc.

I have a 2016 Nissan Altima with 85,000 miles that is currently experiencing some issues. I've found multiple people online that are having the same problem. The vehicle at times when pushing down the accelerator will not respond then suddenly take off like it's in 3rd gear. Accelerating onto the highway on yesterday my check engine light cane on as well and my traction control light which caused my car to lose power. I was able to get right back off the freeway and turn into a neighborhood. When I turned the car off and back on it started with the same lights on. I had my transmission rebuilt at 73,000 miles with a 12,000 mile warranty already but I don't think that my transmission is the issue this time. I had to get my car towed to the Nissan of grapevine dealership again because I refuse to drive the car with my 3 month old and sixteen year old in the car

Started vehicle this morning and put in reverse and pressed the pedal to back out and had a delayed reaction and the RPM's just increased. The car did not move for approximately four to five seconds and finally backed out. Placed the car in drive and drove toward a stop sign approximately 100 yards away and it seemed like it was losing power as I tried to accelerate and again the RPM's increased but seemed like it would not move. Drove vehicle back home and with same issues and parked for about thirty minutes. Tried to duplicate but drove just fine. This has happened before while at a red light about a couple of months ago. Tried accelerating and would barely accelerate like it had no power. Placed in park, cut the car off and back on and after a few minutes, I hit the accelerator and it darted off. Luckily, there has been no accidents but have concerns if this happens while on a highway. This Altima on has over 53K miles and have no idea why this is happening because I am not a mechanic but have read several statements on the internet from others with the same issue. Not sure why Nissan has not placed a recall on this issue but is very unsafe.

Addition to the ppl giving me the reading for my check engine light...transmission fluid (something with my transmission) I've been having a popping noise coming from my passenger tire when I hit bumps..I've took it back to carmaxx to get it service and it still makes the same noise and when I start up my car for the first time it makes a loud noise I guess until the car warms up and it's real loud in the winter and I also complained about this to the dealer..they claim they fixed and it still makes the same noise..I don't know what the problem is with either..it's a 2016 Nissan Altima..
