I was driving along the road (posted 45mph) driving approximately 40 mph when I came upon an intersection in which the light was red and the opposing traffic was turning into the entrance of the business court and the brake pedal went all the way down to the floor board and I entered the intersection hitting the car that was making the turn in front of me. As I still had the brake pedal applied all the way to the floor I hit the car and kept rolling going up over a concrete lane divider and into the shrubs. I was taken by ambulance to ER very confused and unable to prove the brakes failed even though I told the insurance company if the adjuster had checked the brakes.
I eventually had to recover my personal items from the car because it was a total loss. While I was at the scrap yard I looked for any brake fluid leaks, damaged brake lines etc etc and also got into the drivers seat and applied the brake pedal which seemed okay. Nissan has a HUGE safety problem and needs fixed ASAP!! I had only had the car for a couple of months and have still not been able to purchase another vehicle. One thing is for sure is "I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER NISSAN"
Please be safe out there. FYI: I saw that another person had the same brake failure as I did, but he was able to drive his car home. Thank GOD no one was seriously injured..
