While on vacation transmission failure due to coolant mixing with transmission faulty radiator taken to mt holly Nissan asap while driving it was a safety hazzard

Got in my 2007 Frontier to go to work on Monday morning, got about three blocks and pulled out onto the main street and my truck went from third gear back into 1st gear I was only doing the speed limit of 60km an hour, then limped it home to find out my rad was cracked, I do take very good care of my truck and for this to go all of a sudden. I think Nissan should cover the cost.I only have 110 kms on it !!!

My truck service ligth come on 09/25/2018 took it to a transmission mechanic he said there was antifreeze in the transmission the said was bad for that he said it would cost 2500 hundred to fix I've had this truck seen 2007 I never heard anything about this problem 😒

We had just had our oil changed in our Nissan Frontier and had a general check of the vehicle before driving it on a vacation to another state. Everything was in perfect working order. We purchased this vehicle new and it has always been well-maintained. It has 118,000 miles. While driving home less than a week after we left, we noticed that the transmission began slipping and coolant was suddenly leaking from the truck. We also noticed a pink or orange fluid mixed with the coolant. We were >3 hours away from home when this happened. The transmission slippage got worse as we were driving. We were luckily able to make it home and took our vehicle in for service. We found out that this truck has the same problem as other Nissan--coolant mixed with the transmission fluid, causing the transmission to suddenly fail. Now the vehicle is not driveable and were are suddenly left with a very big cost to replace the transmission. This sudden failure of the transmission without any warning is extremely unsafe. We could have been stranded far from home or worse, the transmission could have failed while we were driving, causing an accident. I know that Nissan has known about this problem since 2007 and has failed to issue a recall to fix it and failed to change the design of later vehicles. We had no idea that this was a known problem with our vehicle until it happened to us. Since everything was in perfect working order when we left, we had no reason to suspect that in less than a week, our vehicle would become undriveable.

Transmission went into limp mode leaving driveway. Cleared by shutting off & restart. Did this twice then would not reset. Took to shop & diagnosed contaminated tranny fluid & ruined transmission. One part replaced was Nissan oem tcm. Three months after rebuild same thing happened on highway but could not clear limp mode. $400 tow to shop but they said all tested and passed, reset codes. Happened again on highway and drove to Nissan dealer in flagstaff. They diagnosed lack of communication with tcm and said it would happen again, and to get to shop for diagnosis without turning off the engine. The third time this happened on highway drove slow in limp mode back to orignial shop that rebuilt transmission. Transmission shop after diagnostic said oem tcm failed. Avondale Nissan supplied shop with new tcm but only after failed tcm was returned. Total expenses over $7000 and loss of vehicle use for 10 days when transmission was rebuilt and 26 calendar days second time due to difficulty in shop determining exactly what failed because Nissan said tcm not prone to failure history.

Transmission failure due to radiator coolant leaking into transmission. Driving condition resulted in sudden hard downshifts and eventually led to a no start condition. Upon inspecting, the at control fuse was blown and when replaced the vehicle cranked, only to have the fuse blow again. The transmission, likely need to be replaced to remedy the issue. This issue is known and unfortunately, little has been done to hold the manufacturer accountable.

In January 2018 my Nissan was running great....drove to work and when I came out to go home the truck wouldn't start..my truck has been sitting since then..cant afford a new transmission but I was told it is the main board to the transmission..I have power but it will not start.the vehicle remains in my garage...I had no warning before the this happened.had to pay a tow fee straight to Nissan dealer for diagnostic and they told me it was my battery and starter..we \replaced both and still nothing.I sure hope someone can help me because the cost to fix the problem as I was told was gonna be around $4500 they wanna replace the tranmission

Car stutters when I accelerate whil going uphill between 40 and 60 miles an hour. Dealership mechanic reported that the transmission fluid had been contaminated by the radiator failing. There are 102,000 miles on the vehicle. The dealership is charging $6,100 to repair a truck that is worth less than that. The dealership says that as I am 2,000 miles past the warranty, they will not discount the price of repair, even though this is a well documented issue. Neither the dealer I bought the truck from or the dealer performing maintenance for the last three years has ever mentioned or checked for the issue.
