Anti-lock brakes would fire during normal braking, at higher speeds. Had to have multiple wheel sensors replaced. Dealer claims is it corrosion related.

ABS system failed after 5 years and 44,000 miles. Needs $2000+ to repair. This is unacceptable, especially since this is not an isolated incident. This has happened to many, many other owners of this make/model car. Nissan issued a tsb but will not accept responsibility.

The ABS pump in the Maxima is defective. It grinds and grinds and the light doesn't come on. The mechanics could not find what was wrong with the car until the sound was so loud, you could hear it from outside the car. The car is only a few years old and this should not happen. If you visit Maxima.org, you can see on the forum that everyone with an '04 Maxima has an ABS problem. This needs to be recalled and Nissan should fix these. This is over $1000 of work from the mechanic. We have owned 6 Nissan and this is the only time this has ever happened. It is very upsetting that Nissan will not acknowledge this problem.

ABS light came on with the brake light then vibrating noise started. Now every time that I break the car shuts off is able to start on again but about every time I break it shut off again is very dangerous and someone could get hurt. When I bought the car they told me it was a manufacture problem and it was not going to affect the car and now it is. I own the car for 10 months and the warranty expired so now I'm stuck paying for 3000 dollars to get it fixed when in still making payment on the car and can't even afford it.

It started with a loud noise out of the left front wheel then the ABS light came on then the back and service engine light and then the speedometer would read the speed. Then it shuts down if im at a stop light for a while or out of nowhere this is not safe!!! at all as it can cause and accident. Its has happened at turning lanes and the car behind thank god stop in time or else he would of rear ended me. Soo I took it to the dealer and said it needed a new ABS pump, harness, and ipdm. I've only had this car for 9months its a 2004 Nissan Maxima with 56,000miles on it and for the price I paid this shouldn't be happening to a car that claims to be sooooo reliable. Not happy at all!!!!! now im stuck paying $2500 for repair and something that I've read sooo many complaints about and Nissan just avoids it and says cant do anything since it has no warranty very disappointed!!!! angry!!! frustrated!!! and broke!!!!!

I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima SE that I bought 2 years ago with 14000 miles on it. Currently have 24000 miles so I don't drive a lot. In those 2 years, I've had struts, brakes, rotors, A/C problems, tons of anti-lock brake issues(was in shop 4 times) and at 19000 miles, a tire blowout and again another one at 24000 miles. I submitted my paperwork for cracked sidewalls on my Goodyear rsa tires on July 1,2007 and have not heard anything yet. This car has been the car from you know where. It just has problem after problem--I get one thing fixed and something else seems to come up.
