Murano 6-cyl

  • 11,000 miles
I have a 2004 Nissan Murano with a broken drivers seat. The left side of the driver seat support frame has fatigued and broken. Several repair shops in my area have indicated that they will not try to repair because the guage of the metal support is too thin. New seat bases, which are hard to find, can cost $1000 for the part. My internet search has revealed this to be a common problem. Need help on this! 2004 Nissan Murano, drivers seat spontaneously broke, seat is now leaning against the door frame. Seat no longer functions properly. Seat rocks from side to side in stopping. Afraid of further failure in seat that could result in the driver seat coming completely disengaged which would put driver and passengers at serious risk. Independent mechanic acknowledges seat failure in Muranos is common.

I own a 2004 Nissan Murano and the driver seat has broken within the last 2 months. It rocks side to side and front to back when applying the brakes. I took it to a mechanic and paid to have it welded but it did not hold. This is dangerous as if it breaks while driving, this structure failure to the driver seat could cause a fatality. This is a common problem with this vehicle.

My 2004 Nissan Murano AWD SE front driver seat broke. I took it out and paid to have a guy weld it. Others have told me that it is a common Murano problem. Some suggested that it is already a Nissan recall issue but I can't get any info to prove it. It still flops around. Also the front wheel bearing went at 75K miles but that's another problem. The doors lock automatically if you slam the door sometimes. Imagine jumping out of the car to put mail in the box and when you come back it's locked ? dealer said he fixed it... he didn't. the tail gate back door latch sticks. Also the metal rim of the gasoline filler neck got rusty and pitted. Consequently the gas cap didn't seal properly and the check engine light came on. The dealer wanted 800 dollars to change the filler neck. I sanded it and fixed it for nothing.

I was taking a left hand turn when I heard something snap and my driver's side seat fell back to the left. My foot came off the gas pedal when the seat fell back. I've read all of the complaints and I find it hard to believe that this is not considered a safety issue. I could have easily lost control of the car or come to an abrupt stop from my foot coming off the gas if I were traveling at a faster rate of speed. I just returned from the Nissan dealer. They had to completely replace the seat lift frame assembly for a "discounted" cost of $1135.80 which I paid. I could not drive the car in this condition (the seat was not stable and wobbling every time I took a turn or hit a bump) so I felt I had not choice but to repair it. From the invoice I think the part # is 87450-ca68B and then below that it says MH7826.

The driver seat became unstable and would adjust without using controls. Seat just broke (the frame) and almost caused us to crash due to displacement and listing to the left. Very scary. Just found out this is a common issue and that it will be nearly $1000 to repair.

Drivers seat tilts on turns, worse on left turns. I took it to the dealer and they said it was a broken seat track. I asked them to repair and was told the area manager refused to fix. There is a technical service bulletin on this and it is beyond dangerous. The left front of the seat barely hangs on as the bolts are broken in the back. I have done some research on this and it is a prevalent problem with this car. I am complaining as I feel it is extremely unsafe.

I have a 2004 Nissan Murano with electric driver seat. The left rear bracket holding the seat to the rail has broken, thus resulting in the seat becoming detached and severely leaning to the left rear. I assumed this was an isolated incident until I googled the issue and have discovered numerous complaints of this exact same issue. This problem could prove to be a serious safety issue in the event of a crash or hard brake. To say the least, it could prove to cause back injury or pain.

Nissan Murano 2004- front drivers seat is loose and wiggly for the last week. Last night it was extremely cold and the seat seemed to collapse on the door side leaving it crooked it feels awkward to drive, worried that the seat will come off or something. I just contacted Nissan and am waiting for a response. This car was a gift from my dad in Florida and I only have owned it for about a year, so I doubt rust is an issue. Right now I am unable to pay for a expensive repair due to high winter bills and X-mas. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

2004 Nissan Murano, normal usage of the driver seat, noticed seat rocking 9 months after I bought it "certified used", took it to the Nissan dealer, was told it was a broken seat bracket, cost to repair $948 + tax. The complaints on this issue with other owners is endless! this is a major design flaw, a seat should never break like this under normal wear, and should be recalled by Nissan after so many documented complaints.

1. normal usage of the driver seat to a 2004 Nissan Murano. 2. the seats metal frame broke on the left hand side where it looks to be a design flaw. The bracket is thinner on the left side where it broke. 3. has not been replaced due to not being covered and not having the $1,000. I currently am driving around with a large plastic lunchbox under my seat, but I fear that I have a personal ejection seat if I were to be in an accident.
