Different mechanics have looked at it and I have spent over a 1,000 just this month on trying to fix it but they say it is an engine problem that these car have. I see many complaints and nothing is done by Nissan. I believe just like everyone else with this problem should have Nissan take care of it. I am a mother of 3 and take very good care of my car so that is runs good. I almost had an accident of the freeway because of this problem at the speed of 65 mph. This has happen numerous times now and seems to be happening more often now. Today while trying to make a left turn and the car wouldn't move we almost got hit by a big rental truck, thank god the gentleman was able to make a quick stop and we didn't get hit. Please see what can be done. Nissan should be held accountable for something wrong with these cars that they already know is there manufactures fault. Are they going to wait till someone gets killed"?"

There was a structural failure of the anchor/bracket underneath the driver's seat. While I am driving, the seat rocks from side to side, and dips up and down. When I turn, the seat rocks a couple of inches down and then pops back as I come out of the turn. Also vehicle loses acceleration power when coming out of a complete stop.

The car was driven on the high way at 50 mph, when it started to decelerate and would only go over a max speed of 30 mph. Even with acceleration, the car would not go over 30 mph. It was driven to the auto repair shop and they declared the transmission had failed and the engine was faulty as well. This car has given us so many problems. This is the third time it had stalled on the highway almost causing accidents and presenting a dangerous situation for my family! this problem needs to be corrected!!!!!!!!! something must be done!

I ran off the left side of a mountain road hitting a large tree with the driver's door, then continued down the hill another ~20 feet slamming into a boulder. When I hit the tree, the driver's door window broke as well as the driver's side rear door. The door was jammed shut. The Nissan was equipped with front side impact airbags and both front and rear head protection airbags. None were deployed. When I hit the boulder, the front passenger airbag deployed, but the driver's front airbag failed to deploy. The pre-tensioner on the driver's seatbelt did not latch resulting in me hitting my upper chest and lower jaw on the steering wheel since the airbag did not deploy. The fuel cut-off device also failed to activate and shut off the engine. After almost a minute, I turned off the engine with the key. I had been knocked unconscious for several seconds. The 2004 Nissan Murano sustained over $25,000 in damage which resulted in it being totaled by my insurance company. The airbag light would illuminate briefly when starting the car prior to the accident. So there was no indication of an airbag malfunction. There was substantial damage to the driver's side of the vehicle as well as the front and undercarriage. My injuries were limited to bruises to my chest and lower jaw. The accident also greatly aggravated a prior injury to my upper back. When I went to go remove my personal belongings from the vehicle, I found that the jack, mounted in the rear floor had come completely out.

Idler pulley and bracket design default. I just took my car in after an all of the sudden clanging noise - at 35,000 miles. I was told by authorized dealership that I required a new idler pulley and bracket. Apparently it was broken. I believe this is a design default and should be looked into. I have heard many people complaining of this same thing. I ended up paying $99 for labor, $69.50 for the pulley, and $25 for the bracket. This part failing at 35,000 miles is unacceptable.

Alternator adjusting bracket - I had to have my 2004 Nissan Murano serviced due to a coolant leak that I noticed. When looking at the vehicle, entire underbody was filled with coolant and no coolant remained in the reservoir. The dealer serviced the vehicle and documented the issue as the alternator adjusting bracket having broken and rupturing the hose, fan pulley and the power steering belt being negatively impacted. After speaking with the service tech., there have been multiple times that he has seen this issue. With an obvious repeating issue in the vehicles, the severity of damage to the vehicle (bracket breaks, alternator loosens in hood and damages surrounding mechanisms, or occupants (operation of vehicle not ideal with bracket broken, impacting surrounding mechanisms (power steering belt, fan, alternator, coolant system) that could result, and the customer dissatisfaction of having this issue and incurring the costs to repair.
