2005 Nissan Murano. Consumer states issues related to the seat damage and other problems with vehicle the consumer stated when her vehicle was returned to her the seat was broken. The dealership claimed they didn't damage the seat and that a seat weld was broken. The dealership implied that maybe the consumers husband broke the seat due to his size when he exited the vehicle when he dropped it off. The consumer also stated she was charged for recall work relating to the gas tank assembly.

I've been having a problem with the power driver's seat in my 2005 Nissan Murano, the driver's side power seat just started to tilt to one side, and also forward. It is loose and will tilt forward/backward when I decelerate/accelerates. According to my mechanic, it's sort of structural failure with the anchor of the left rear side of the power driver seat.

Totally unexpectedly, the driver's seat tilted backwards all of a sudden, almost causing an accident as I lost control for a while. I took the car to the garage after wedging the seat stationary with blocks of wood. The mechanic said the weld on the seat bracket broke and that it was my responsibility to fix at a cost of $1100. Despite repeated attempts to get Nissan to repair what was clearly a faulty design that caused metal fatigue, the seat still has not been repaired. I went on the internet to see if anyone else has had this problem and found in a short time about 200 instances of this bracket breaking in this same spot. This car has only about 38,000 miles and has only been driven by myself.

Seat bracket for 2005 Nissan Murano power front seat broke causing instability for driver when driving. There were no deaths or injuries, but driving in such an unstable condition in the mountainous roads of East Tennessee could very easily result in death or dismemberment.

While driving my 2005 Nissan Murano the drivers side seat collapsed. This caused a temporary loss of control of the vehicle. Luckily we were not in an accident. My brother in law's drivers seat also collapsed. I have found numerous similar stories on the internet. When asking Nissan Consumer Affairs to look into the matter they took 21 days to investigate. They finally told us that they would not pay any of the $900 that was estimated to fix. They stated that it was due to the fact we did not have our warranty. I'm not sure why it took 21 days to figure that out!

2005 Nissan Murano - front driver seat broken. I was driving and in the process of making a left turn when I felt my car seat come loose. The car has about 105,000 miles and is approximately 5 years old. This is definitely a safety hazard. If I were to get into a car accident, I can get seriously hurt.

My driver's seat suddenly became more like a rocking chair. When I accelerate I tilt backward letting my foot come slightly off the pedal. The resulting hesitation of the vehicle makes me rock forward causing my foot to then hit the pedal and lurch the vehicle forward! what would happen should I get in an accident and the entire seat come loose ?

The drivers seat frame is made with plastic parts and it breaks in half. Drivers seat then becomes loose and completely unstable. This is the first time I have had to replace the frame. The part is $750 without install. According to the blog posts this is a know problem with the Nissan Muranos 2003-2006. Wish I would have looked that up before buying the car!

Approximately 15 months ago, our drivers side seat broke underneath the seat causing the seat to lean to the left against the drivers side door. I took the seat out to see what had happened and found the metal frame support bar underneath the seat had snapped. We called the dealer and they told us to bring it in and it could cost upwards of $500 initially. I decided to fix the seat myself and re-weld the metal. I contacted Nissan to see if they would do anything feeling that this is a huge safety concern being that the seat is part of the restraint system and they told me to take it to the dealer which I did, then, to have the dealer contact them. The dealer charged me $107 to take the seat out look at it, print off some papers and put it back in the car. Nissan then contacted me and denied any accountability for the defect, told me I was over warranty and furthermore that I voided the warranty when I fixed my own seat. I am outraged that there has not been a recall on such an important part of the car! as I check with parts people or even do research online about this problem it's clearly evident that this is a major problem with this car and everyone knows it. I have fixed this seat 3 times over the past 15 months and I am fed up with it. Nissan wants $1000 to fix this. I think that sucks and they should be standing by their product and fixing it like a real reputable company would. The website I read several stories on was carcomplaints.com. Can you help?

As I was driving down the freeway, I felt a snap from under the seat and slightly pulled me down, which caused my foot to release the gas pedal. I was able to maintain control because I am a skilled and experienced driver. I researched the internet and found this website and apparently there is a lot of issues with the driver seat of a 2005 Nissan Murano similar to mine. Nissan needs to prevent a major accident unlike Toyota that was not able to on such an insignificant defect. A lot of lives are at risk and they do not need to wait until something tragic happens to act on the issue.

2005 Nissan Murano.no previous issues with the seat. I have approx 95K miles. Beginning on Friday April 16th 2010. Drivers side seat began to wobble (side to side) as I was coming to a stop. I was concerned for my safety as I thought that the entire seat had come off the track. I had to pull over and tried to see what had happened. I was not able to see anything due to the plastic covers etc on the sides of the seat. However, I did notice that I could completely lift the seat left to right. I very cautiously drove home. Upon further inspection, we found that a metal part under the seat is completely broken in half. The seat is still on the track and all of the power functions are still operational. However, my seat now wobbles every time I slow down, make turns or come to a stop. This is not a wear and tear item. After online research, I have found a significant number of reports and complaints with the exact same issue. This seems to be more of a safety hazard. I have contacted my local Nissan dealership and have been told that it is not a covered item under my extended warranty and that they are familiar with this issue and it will cost approx. $1000 part and labor to repair!! how many more complaints before Nissan voluntarily recalls this item or do actual deaths have to occur before something changes?

On March 27, 2010, I was stopping at a light and the driver's front seat, in my 2005 Nissan Murano, broke. I had the extended warranty; however, my seat was not covered. I took it to the Nissan dealership immediately and it cost me $461.23 to have my seat fixed. The dealership stated that my rear cushion support bracket was broken, they stated that this was a common problem with the 2005 Muranos, and that I would have to either get it fixed there (at the dealership) or I would have to have the car towed to another facility to have it repaired. This is not normal - wear and tear 'a broken seat from stopping at a light. The dealership stated that there were no recalls, but would put in a complaint on my behalf.
