The driver's side seat frame broke while adjusting the seat causing the seat to permanently lean to the left noticeably. The problem occurred after the warranty period and the dealer quoted a $1000 repair cost which I felt should have been covered under a recall. Since then I have learned that it is a problem for thousands of owners with 2003 to 2006 models. Nissan just never owned up to it being a defect. The seat cannot be adjusted properly and it is a major inconvenience when driving.

While driving on the highway the driver side seat started to move forward on it's own, I almost crashed my car into a truck and could have been killed. 2 incidents 1) both driver and passenger side sun visors will not stay up completely causing issues during driving (falling into driver's view while driving). I have never had this issue with any other car I've owned (Honda, Ford, Chevy, Toyota). Average replacement cost per visor is ~$200 which is a little steep. 2) when car reached 104,000 miles, the driver's seat rear left bracket cracked. This occurred while making a right turn from a stop. Date of occurrence is May 4, 2013. After researching this online, I found several Nissan Muranos have this issue. The left rear support was not designed for long term application and is a flawed design. I also found someone that welded their bracket together from youtube which may be the route I may take if a recall is not implemented. Average replacement cost of driver's seat track assembly (heard they will not replace just the bracket) is ~$700. I also heard there have been accidents due to this design flaw, though cannot confirm. My hopes are you're looking into this.

The driver seat on my 2005 Nissan Murano S broke while driving. The left side track of the driver seat broke causing the seat to lean badly to the left forcing the driver against the door panel. I purchased my Murano in Jan 2013, the incident occurred in March 2013. My husband and I were driving last Sunday. As he was approaching a stop sign we heard a loud 'pop' under the driver's seat, we thought it was a spring or something. Upon getting home he discovered that the rear left bracket of the driver's seat had broken. I took it to the dealership the next morning and they told me to call Nissan North America (800-Nissan-1). I filed a claim and they called me back to inform me that they would be unable to replace the seat frame because the car is beyond factory warranty. The dealership quoted me $1000 to replace the broken bar. I bought the Murano when I was 9 months pregnant, in fact, I had my son a week after buying the vehicle. My husband wanted me to be in a bigger car, a safer car for me and my newborn. I'm upset that the seat broke, in my mind there are two things in a car that should never break: The seats and the seatbelts, but I'm disappointed that Nissan is not taking care of their customers and fixing the problem. Since this happened I have researched the broken seat and there are entire forums devoted to this incident! I've been a Nissan driver for nearly 10 years, this will be the last make of their car that I purchase.

This is previously addressed in an investigation closed in 2009. My seat bracket on drivers side did however break during vehicle operation while turning a corner. I have had spinal Fusion surgery and this was enough of a jolt to cause pain in my neck. The seat now wobbles side to side and front to back and in the even of and accident would not be properly secured causing any injuries to be significantly worse in my opinion. $1100 to replace this part is extremely irritating and I doubt others like myself have the cash to dump into a simple part with a design defect that will most likely only break again.

I was driving around a curve on a highway ramp to get onto the highway. I heard a loud pop and my seat leaned to the side and I swerved off the road. I was able to gain control of the vehicle and get back on the road. I checked under the seat and noted that a metal bracket had broken. The bracket did not look very sturdy. After researching this issue on the internet I noted that this was a common problem with Nissan Muranos. Is there a recall on the brackets?

While I was driving, I heard a loud pop and the drivers seat shifted. The link lifter for the seat no longer functions correctly. The seat is lopsided unless all the way down to the floor, and will not raise uniformly any more. If the seat is raised up, it leans into the back right corner, no longer level with the floor of the vehicle. Internet research has shown that this is a known issue, and there has been a technical service bulletin released on it.

2005 Nissan Murano sl with only 58,000 miles on it has the seat defect where it is stuck and won't move forward and back. It appears that the bracket system attachment to the floor has become broken. This is a dangerous manufacture defect that can cause accidents and the car to be unable to drive. The repair for this is quoted at $1,500. Nissan should recall these and fix them on their own cost, not the consumer.

Seat is loose and got stuck when trying to auto move back and forward as part of the startup process. I've read up on the complaints here and on the Nissan owners forum and this is a known defect. If the seat tack and bracket breaks from an obvious manufacture defect this can cause a deadly crash. Does it take a person to die before Nissan will issue a recall? please force Nissan to fix this.

While driving/turning/stopping/entering/exiting vehicle the left rear side of the drivers seat dips down drastically. Have read numerous complaints that NHTSA and Nissan are aware that these seats are a problem, I think Nissan should step up and take responsibility for the quality of the product and fix these seats before someone is injured due to the defect. Thankful I noticed mine while parked and not moving when the sudden movement of the seat could cause me to not have control over the vehicle.

While driving down the road the frame on the drivers seat broke causing the seat to fall back and to the left. Scared me and thought I was going to wreck but didn't. then very difficult to maneuver the car to get home since you are sitting cocked to the side and back. Called Nissan and looked online as to recalls and there are none but several complaints were there regarding these seats. This is the 2nd time this has happened the first being earlier this year. Nissan said to bring it and pay to have it fixed. We had friend weld it cheaper than them. If the seat is faulty then there is no sense fixing it numerous times and they need to remake this part so it does not keep breaking, think they should recall since it is unsafe.

As I entered the car, and transferred my weight to the seat the left rear area of the seat dropped down suddenly. Had this occurred suddenly during driving, the tendency to pull on the steering wheel to balance and regain a normal driving position could create a circumstance where the vehicle would swerve. I was unaware of this defect potential in the vehicle, despite having owned it since new. On looking at the failure point, and reviewing the defect, the seat frame (manufacturers weld point) has failed at precisely the same point that many users have reported on vehicle forums. This appears to be a defect associated with cyclic loading, differentially applied on the left side of the seat due to the entry process. Clearly it is a manufacturers defect. NHTSA should seriously consider this for further review...an inspection campaign, modification or recall may be appropriate.
