The rear sub frame of the car has rusted through and broken in several places.
- Woodland, ME, USA
My daughter 2006 Nissan Murano rear subframe failed at 118,000 miles. The subframe has rotted through completely. We brought the car in for routine maintenance and were told the car was unsafe to drive on the roads. After researching this online, there are many people with subframe issues. Nissan needs to recall these cars. The rest of the undercarriage looks like new. This is clearly a problem that is of great safety concern. Please advise others of this issue.

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the front passenger side seat detached from the rail. Also, the contact mentioned that the control arms and motor mounts were replaced several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the seat assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 72,000.

While driving on the dealer provided spear, the rear differential was damaged and caused the rear wheels to grip at 50 mph. The wheels would have locked up if I had continued driving at that rate of speed. This is an unsafe situation, because the dealer provided spear is not appropriate for this type of vehicle (AWD/SUV). I could have lost my life if the wheels had locked up completely and I lost control of the car in traffic. I am a nurse at an acute care hospital and I feel this is a significant safe issue that needs to be addressed by Nissan.

1. purchased 2006 Nissan Murano in May 2010 with 40,000 miles on it. At 40,000 miles the front left tire started to make a grinding noise. 2. at 47,000 miles wheel bearing on front left tire went bad. At 51,000 miles was driving the car and heard a snap and the left side of the drivers seat collapsed and now rocks back and forth making it not only unsafe but also uncomfortable to drive. 3. paid $500 to get the wheel bearing repaired on the car. Took the car into Nissan dealership to get the seat looked at and were told that it would be a $1300 repair because Nissan does not make the part that was defective, therefore we would have to pay to get the entire seat replaced. These are both safety issues and there are 1,000's of complaints on both of these issues yet Nissan still refuses to pay for the repairs or recall the parts.

2006 Nissan Murano; informed by dealership service department that control arm and shocks were bad; however, no parts available to fix; no warnings on safety of car or warnings not to drive the car. Totaled car 1 week later when the car suddenly jerked to the right.
