The rear subframe is extremely rusted and breaking into pieces in multiple areas. The vehicle shakes upon acceleration and slowing down. Due to being lower income I cannot afford to fix the subframe (estimated to cost $400 for the the frame not including labor). Also the vacuum lines dry rotted and fell apart.

A certified mechanic inspected my vehicle for a routine check up and noticed that part of my rear subframe was completely rusted out. He refused to install new rear tires on my vehicle due to a safety concern of the rear subframe collapsing on the mechanic. I was told not to drive the nissan murano due to the rear subframe completely detaching from the vehicle. My Murano fishtails when i go over bumps or traveling on the highway and my tires are caving inward. My certified mechanic mentioned that this is a common problem with 1st generation nissan murano models. Why has this not been recalled yet? Does someone have to get killed or seriously wounded in a car accident before a recall has taken place. I challenge NHTSA to investigate these incidents because I know I'm not alone and get justice for Nissan actions. I have spent over $10,000 in repairs for this vehicle and it has been nothing but headaches. I hate to see a love one lose there life over something that can be prevented by notify the public since nissan refuses to take responsibility. Please act know.

The rear subframe rusted off on drivers side. I financed this car only 10 months ago and now I can not drive it. It is very dangerous to drive, and the mechanic told me I should no longer drive it because of how dangerous it is. I have seen numerous complaints about people having the same rear subframe rusting. I can not afford to get it fixed and I-??m still paying on the car. I got it for $7,500 and have put over $2,000 in it. I still have $4,500 left on it. They need a recall, this is a safety hazard for not only the driver and passengers, but for civilians walking or driving by the car, which at any moment the tire can fly off. Please recall the vehicles before someone puts in a lawsuit.

Rear subframe rusted/rot. Unsafe to drive. Both rear wheel alignment are thrown off and wheels are bent inwards. Further driving can cause rear subframe to collapse and can cause serious damage to the vehicle and driver/passenger. A recall needs to be made immediately to resolve this issue

The rear K frame (sub-frame) of the vehicle is rusted completely through on both sides - the rear tires slant outward at bottom & my good tires now squeel while going around turns - one side of the rear stabalizer bar is now detached from all the rust. This vehical is no longer safe to be driven at highway speeds. I see many such reports but can find any evidence of a recall by Nissan - why is that ?

The metal used to make the k frame on the nissan murano has failed. It has lead to numerous problems with this year of muranos. I believe Nissan should be responsible for fixing this problem. It is a huge safety problem and could kill someone.

Had driveshaft put on and asked mechanic to put sway links on that I had purchased. He called after putting driveshaft on and stated he couldn-??t put sway links on until the sub frame was fixed due to it being rusted out and broke. He took a video to show me. He said the part would have to be ordered from Nissan and taken somewhere because he doesn-??t do that kind of work. I took it to another garage abd they put up on the rack abd confirmed the sub frame was broke and needed replaced.

Upon driving my vehicle, my ABS and AWD lights came on and it felt as though the abs brakes were engaging, despite being on a flat, dry road driving at low speed. My car was making a very slight, difficult to hear noise coming from the rear, a knocking noise of sorts. I also began hearing a high pitched, whirring noise as well, though I could not identify the location or source. Upon inspection by a mechanic, I was informed that 1. The rear subframe was rusted and would need to be replaced as it was causing the control arms to move when they should not. 2. Front driver's side wheel bearing was causing the high pitched "whirring noise" and needed to be replaced. I was told to take vehicle to a body shop to repair the subframe problem. I had the front wheel bearing replaced at the auto mechanic. However, the high pitched noise that I was told was caused by the bearing, still persisted. I then decided to tow the vehicle to the body shop as upon visual inspection under my vehicle, the rear sway bar was resting on my exhaust and I felt it u safe to drive. Spoke with the body shop owner the next day, he informed me that my car was very unsafe and could not be driven because the rear subframe was so rusted and corroded, there "is practically nothing left to it." Body shop owner said that this could result in a dangerous, possibly fatal accident.
