On slow road coasting between 15-20mph, the vehicle hesitated and shaked for around 3 seconds until accelerated above 20 mph. On Dec 17, made the same in another road, same mph. Yesterday 12/30 did it again. In routine maintenance on the dealer, 12/26 informed about the two (2) first events. They recorded it on the job; they need to have the vehicle more time in order to reproduce. Imo at this time, with so many owners complaining about this same progressive defect, is no need to leave a vehicle days (and others putting mileage on it) to reproduce this random problem in addition of the inconvenience of being without transportation.

2013 Nissan Pathfinder hesitated (shudder) when I accelerated the vehicle from a standstill in traffic on the freeway. The vehicle did not move for about 2-3 seconds. It sounded like the vehicles power just shut off. After 2-3 seconds, the vehicle then accelerated. This happens every so often from a standstill/pause at a traffic light or in traffic. I have addressed the problem to my Nissan service dealer. The vehicle is currently at the dealer for service. I turned the vehicle in to the dealer on 12/30/14 due to an "ikey error code" only to find out that the body control module unit had to be replaced. Too many issues with this vehicle. Luckily I still have warranty. Do something before something major happens.

2013 Nissan Pathfinder will hesitate (shudder) when shifting from first gear to second gear while going aprox 20mph. I have addressed the problem to my Nissan service dealer and they give me the can not duplicate issue, no check engine lite code. Nothing they can do. Today 12/30/14 going real slow behind another car aprox 20mph the Pathfinder is shuddering and banging like crazy, and loss of power. Please Nissan co. Do something before something major happens before you address the problem.

Bought this vehicle advertised as "new" however started having multiple issues within the first few days. The fuel gauge would read "0" miles regardless of how much the fuel tank was filled, and the transmission started slipping the 4th day. I would be driving along at anywhere from 30-55 mph when this would happen. Took it back to the original dealer for repair, who refused to put it in the shop and check it out, so I took it to another dealer who said that they were unable to reproduce the defects in the shop. I took it back multiple times for the same issues and they ended up putting more mileage on the vehicle than I did in the first 3 weeks with continuous "inability to reproduce results, " however, as soon as I would leave the shop to go home the transmission would slip and the car would decelerate almost to a stop and then lunge again when it would kick back in. The fuel guage continued to read zero at fill ups, very frustrating. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs with no real progress. The dealer refused repair printoffs as well, so I really don't know what they did to the vehicle while it was in the shop.

Our 2013 Nissan path finder has been "shaking"/shuttering since we bought it. Every time we brought it in for service they said it was "not reproducible". finally the noise got so loud they replaced the transmission. Less than 2 days after the transmission was replaced. We tried to enter the highway and the vehicle refused to accelerate. We almost crashed with oncoming traffic. The vehicle then would not accelerate over 5-10 mph and started dumping fluid in my driveway. I called Nissan and they assigned a tech who was supposed to examine the vehicle with us and document the incident. The tech was not available for a month and they put the vehicle on the rack and "fixed" it without documenting the issue with us. I am going to check it out today. However this is subversive and they are actively not trying to document the issue. This is a dangerous vehicle and numerous complaints have been made online.

While making a right turn the vehicle started to shudder, thought the engine was going to cut off, once again while accelerating out of a turn the car started to shudder again. This is happening on a regular basis now. Bought the car from a dealership. Going to a Nissan dealer car still under warranty hopefully I can get some relief.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the transmission failed without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the transmission fluid hose and clamp needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the VIN was not included in recall NHTSA campaign number: 14V142000 (power train). The failure mileage was 36,030.

2013 Nissan Pathfinder shudders at low speed or accelerating from stop position. Have taken vehicle to dealer several times (12) since Sept 2013. Replaced transmission 3 times, transmission software update performed twice. Each time afterwards I was told some made up story from it's working fine now to you must have been spinning your tires on the wet roads. I took videos of the violent shuddering and loss of acceleration to the service dept and was told there is no fix available for this transmission issue and to drive it as best you can. 55K for a new car to drive the best I can!!!"?" contacted Nissan corporation to file a complaint, after 5 days was denied any relief. Contacted a lemon law attorney and filed a claim. Within 2 days of Nissan being notified by the attorney, they were willing to settle. I received a full buy out and refund of all deposits and monthly payments. God riddance!!!! buyer beware!

Pathfinder

I purchased my Pathfinder in may of 2013. I loved my SUV initially. Starting around July of 2014 - I started experiencing shuddering while driving. Thought maybe I needed new tires. Beginning in August - started noticing that when accelerating from a stop that I would lose power and it would stay about 20 mph & after pumping the gas pedal several times then it would kick in. It started happening more and more. This past Sunday while starting to accelerate up a hill, my Pathfinder just wouldn't kick in. Stayed at about 25 mph & I had to put on my emergency breaks until I reached the top of the hill & then it kicked in. Then the next day as I was merging onto the freeway with my 2 children in the car & my daughters friend, my car just lost its power. Continued to drive at maybe 20 mph even with my foot pressed all the way down on the gas pedal. This was a very scary experience for myself & my kids. We could have been totally rear ended. There are so many complaints here. Does Nissan need to wait until someone is tragically killed before making steps to issue a recall? I did take my car in today to the dealership with print outs of the comments here & told them I would not drive my Pathfinder & put my family in jeopardy until the issue is fixed. They did give me a rental car & contacted me by the end of the day today that they received approval to replace the transmission & will continue to do further testing on the shuddering & reason that the transmission needs to be replace on a vehicle that is a little over a year old. Please with the dealerships response. I have always driven Honda's or Acura's and made the mistake to try Nissan. This will be my last Nissan purchase! I am also posting this on facebook to spread the word about the Pathfinder. Maybe that will get a recall going!

Driving home and going up an inclined hill...I noticed my vehicle(2013 Nissan Pathfinder) suddenly had a hesitation and started to judder abruptly...it happened at low speed of 20-25mph. Nissan is aware of this cvt issue and has not addressed it yet. I read somewhere that they are trying to reprogramming the cvt and seeing if this resolves the issue otherwise folks have had the cvt replaced and still in the same boat....this is a noticeable judder at 20-25 mph on a slight incline. I am the original owner of a 2003 Nissan murano with 88K and the first of its kind with cvt technology and never experienced this type of juddering issue. You would think Nissan would have refined the cvt to a point so these issue would not happen....I like the cvt technology but now I am having my doubts.

Shortly after taking ownership, we felt a shaking of the vehicle when making turns or when slightly accelerating/stopping (like when stuck in traffic) at low speeds. Generally happens at 18 mph but anywhere from 15-25 mph. The vehicle will shake for a couple of seconds. Dealer acknowledged issue, performed software update which didn't resolve the issue. We requested the recording device to be installed to capture the judder for Nissan corporate satisfaction, unfortunately the recording device was faulty and was unable to record anything. We are waiting for the dealer to fix the device, however the juddering is still occurring and I often feel unsafe in this vehicle. Nissan knows exactly what is happening but is not making it easy for the dealer to fix as they want the judder recorded. The dealer tech's know it's happening on our vehicle, yet we can't get any resolution.

I had just started off after making a turn from a red light and the vehicle started shuttering real bad and felt like it was in the rear end. This was just the first time of many times. It still does it to date. I bought this vehicle brand new from mercer Nissan in lufkin, Texas on December 21, 2013 and I am going to file a complaint against them also. I still have the stupid vehicle because I am too upside down to get rid of it. I have already had the transmission replaced which took them 11 months before they decided to do that. I have also had all the new software downloaded and other parts replaced. I am still told if they can't duplicate it they can not fix it. So I am stuck with a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder that I wouldn't pay two cents for if I had it all to do again. I am being told that if others are not complaining a recall will not be issued. This vehicle is not worth the money I paid for it. I also read where the 2014 Pathfinders are doing the shuttering also. I believe it is time to find a good lemon law lawyer.

Nissan Pathfinder 2013 transmission has shuttered and shuttered for several months, the transmission was replaced. 30 days it started again only worse, took it to the dealer in gulfport, ms and the mechanic thinks it has bad gas. Brought the car in Florida, they worked on it and seemed to know what they were doing. Today, while driving around 35 mph, it mad a sound like I hit something in the road, really loud, we could feel it in our seats, I turned around and went home. I am scared to drive it.

Just bought my Pathfinder three months ago used with 18000 miles me and my wife just had our second child and we were looking for a third row vehicle comparable to the highlander and we thought this was it but boy were we wrong. We put about 2000 miles on it and started having problems. This Pathfinder put my family's life in danger when it started losing power and jerking in the middle of a busy highway... my wife says she's never had such a new car gives her problems like this and she no longer trust driving it with my three week old daughter and 2 year old son inside. I'm gonna get rid of this junk and buy a highlander like I should have done in the first place. Then I know my family will be safe on the road. Nissan has forever lost my business, never again. They know they have horrible transmission problems and won't do anything to truly fix them only try to buy time till the warranty expires. Bye bye Nissan

Pathfinder 6-cyl

  • 6,000 miles
Purchased on December 24, 2013, my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder has a major transmission issue, which has not been fixed after three service calls, and ended with the transmission failing while driving at 70 mph on a very busy interstate highway. Significant safety event. On 6 Jul 2014, my Pathfinder"S transmission failed in the middle of interstate highway 95 over 150 miles from my residence at posted speed of 70 mph. The car started to shudder with a slight jump in RPM, acted normally, and then, the transmission got stuck in gear. We made it to the side of the road and shutdown the car. I restarted the Pathfinder and regain control of the power train; as before, the vehicle drove with no apparent issue. Fifteen minutes later, the vehicle"S RPM started to exceed 5000 to 6000 rpms, cycling between coasting at high and low rpms (with no power being transfer to the wheels to maneuver the car properly), and normal "powered? driving. Finally, it would not respond to fuel pedal actions. I was able to ?coast? through the 70+ mph traffic to the highways? shoulder. Background. I questioned both the salesman/manager on this issue, and both stated that these early problems had been resolved, and more importantly, that my vehicle"S transmission was a newer one. The first vehicle incident occurred shortly after buying the vehicle. The problem consisted of transmission bumps and rumbles that caused the vehicle to shudder or rattle. I took the vehicle to the dealership in fredericksburg, Virginia on 19 Jan 2014, 4 Mar, and 2 May. I was also told that this issue was not a serious problem, and that the vehicle computer would adjust to the individual pattern of the driver and that the problem would eventually go away. Nissan was contacted, and the vehicle's software was updated. The service department was confident that the problem would be mitigated by the last software update.
