The door handles on this vehicle break. They repair them, and they break again. My deal is this is a point of egress in the event of an emergency. How can they justify making customers pay for a part they know was designed terribly. On top of that, if my car catches on fire....how can they justify making me climb over seats to get out. There are businesses fined for having the wrong kind of door release on their doors. This is no different.

The front sun visors will no longer hold themselves up. If left alone, they would hang down in the driver's field of vision. They are currently being held up with velcro. They have been this way for some time, but the car is out of warranty. This is a well documented failure and should be fixed on all models affected.

On 08/16/2016 I purchased a motor vehicle from star Nissan located at 5757 w. touhy ave., niles, il 60714 (2013 Nissan Pathfinder SUV VIN). On October of 2016 I was driving in the express way going 60mph and my vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating and came to a complete stop while I had other vehicle passing me by at 60+ mph. I had to pull to the side to avoid getting hit in the rear. The vehicle finally took off but not without jerking and rattling noises. I immediately came off the express way. I took the vehicle to star Nissan and they admitted my car on 10/22/2016. I was contacted by Nissan and was told that they replicated the problem and the cvt would need to be changed and everything should be fine. The changes were made and on 10/28/2016 I received the vehicle back. My vehicle has been back to the dealer on 11/12/2016, 11/16/2016, 04/22/2017, 07/12/2017 7/28/2017 with the same symptoms and the problem has never been rectified. On 07/01/2017 my vehicle was driven by a Nissan service technician for 237 miles in order to replicate the problem again. They were successful but now stated that the problem was a relay light. They gave me the vehicle back on 07/06/2017. My vehicle was admitted again on 07/25/2017 with the same problems. The technician had to drive my vehicle 344 miles to replicate the symptoms once again. However my vehicle was admitted until 08/17/2017. The Nissan Consumer Affairs office sent out an engineer who made recommendations. The recommendation was to remove brake light relay and replace brake switch. I was given the vehicle back and the problems has persist. On 11/13/2017 my car jerked and came to a stop in the middle of a busy intersection this has been a nightmare and I have almost been a part of an accident on several occasion due to this problem. I am now car-less because this vehicle is not safe to drive.

The sun visor started slowly sagging down on both the driver and passengers side. They make a loud popping sound when engaged. They no longer lift to the closed position. Since there isn't a recall on this part Nissan I'll have to come out of pocket to replace both. I bought this vehicle a year ago and the visors have always made a loud popping sound when you engage the visor.

Both sunvisors of my car broke and have significantly affected my field of vision not to mention that it sticks out into my face when I drive. T the sunvisor can't be stored safely (click into position)and can't be placed in front of the sun because it is dangling- broke. The same happened to my passenger side. My husband put clamps to hold them back but today I finally went to Nissan to replace them. It cost $313!!! I have owned many cars and the sunvisors have never broken.... I filed a complaint with Nissan but they didn't consider thisome a recall.

The lift gate/hatch power struts corroded and snapped while it was closing. Fortunately, I was not underneath it. I had to remove it to close the door. Both sides are corroded through and need to be replaced. The vehicle only has about 65K miles and this should not have rusted the way it did. I've heard there is a bulletin issued by Nissan about this problem, but they have only offered to pay half of the $1550 cost to replace these expensive parts.

May 2017 the passenger side sun visor broke and was replaced by me. In July 2017 the mechanism on the driver's side sun visor broke and released unexpectedly while I was driving blocking my view of the road and causing me to abruptly swerve into oncoming traffic. The visor issue seems to be a common one with the 2013 and 2014 Pathfinder and it is without a doubt a safety hazard. Abruptly obstructing the line of sight of a driver should be considered a safety concern and should be a recall on this vehicle.

I have a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and the sun visors have an issue where they do not stay up. This is a common issue with this vehicle as if you google it, there are multiple threads describing the issue. This is a huge safety issue as the sun visor on the driver's side blocks your visibility. Additionally, it makes a loud cracking sound anytime you open or close it. I contacted Nissan last year in 2016 and they basically said, "oh well. You are out of warranty." The issue with my vehicle is a known issue and is also a safety concern. I can be driving my vehicle on the highway and the sun visor will suddenly fall down and block my view. When I contacted Nissan last year, my vehicle was not even a year out of warranty. I had noticed the issue with the sun visors for a while, but did not take the vehicle in previously due to personal issues going on (I was in the middle of a separation and divorce). The driver's side sun visor is hanging so low now that I have to push to the left side of my vehicle in front of the window so I can see when I drive. I have included some pictures so you can see where the sun visor is sitting on a permanent basis. Even if I push it up, it falls back to this position. You can see from the final picture that is basically at my eye level. I can understand Nissan not wanting to replace both sun visors, but the driver's side visor is a huge safety concern. At $250 a piece, I can't really afford to spend $500 to have them both repaired. I have 2 small children and I'm extremely concerned for their safety and mine while operating the vehicle.

Defective interior door handles. Passenger handle made a crunch noise and stopped working. 3 months later it happened to the drivers side door handle. The dealer claimed this is a trim issue. It is not. It is a safety issue. What if the car was involved in a collision and was on fire and the door handle didn't work? this is a huge safety issue in my mind. I have done research online and it turns out that many people are experiencing this same issue. Nissan should recall these immediately.

While driving home today with my two young boys on a rural, wooded road, my sunroof shattered. It sounded like an explosion. I went back to the scene where I heard the explosion to look for rocks and/or tree limbs and nothing was found. The vehicle has no signs of rocks hitting the roof or windshield. It appears to have exploded spontaneously.

The driver's side and passenger side sun visors do not stay up in the fully retracted position. The driver's side especially will hang so low so as to obstruct visibility. You can push the visors up but they immediately sag after releasing the visor. This is a serious safety concern. This is a constant problem as this occurs when the car is stationary and in motion. In fact. I have had to place velcro fasteners to keep the visors up so as not to cause an obstruction to visibility.
