My air bag light continues to blink indicating something wrong with my passenger side air bag. I was told that due to this problem, the passenger seat needed to be replaced. An expensive repair. Recall reference #ntb08-095C specifically addresses this problem. However, my vehicle was is included in the recall. I feel that my Nissan Rogue 2009 ( produced in Jan 2009) and the air bag manufactured by takata, should be included in the recall and repaired. This is a problem, with numerous people also posting about it. Thanks in advance for your attention to this matter.

The passenger airbag indicates "off" even when an adult is sitting in the passenger seat. Airbag warning light constantly flashing in dash. This problem seems to be a common one in this model year vehicle and should be repaired under safety recall through the dealership. It would be a very sad day when someone has an accident / crash and the passenger airbag does not deploy, potentially causing injury or even death!

My 2009 Nissan Rogue has never been in an accident. Out of nowhere my passenger airbag light started to flash, I brought it in to my local mechanic who said that it was the airbag sensor underneath the passenger seat and that he was unable to do anything about it as it takes certain programming to make the airbags work appropriately. I then brought my car in to a Nissan dealer where they told me it would be $200 to hook their machine us to read the code to even begin the diagnostic process I've been told them that this is reported on line time after time again specifically on the 2008 and 2009 models and I don't feel I should have to pay for them to hook up a machine to read the diagnostic code in which I had in my hand. After doing more research online I have had numbers between $300 and $2,000 be quoted for this part to fix the issue and according to most of the people that have said they paid to have it fixed at some point they came back and reissued new complaints on the same form that it does happen over and over again. How is Nissan not fixing an issue that makes their airbags disfunctional and not deploy? I guess it takes some death and a lawsuit before it will get done.

There was an accident that occurred with this car and the passenger airbag did not deploy, which could have caused a major injury to the passenger. I have noticed that this a know issue with the 2008 Nissan rouge. The airbag sensor in not working and this is extremely dangerous especially, since an accident occurred. Nissan should be responsible to fix this issue, since they know they had problems with this model the year before.

I am writing to alert the NHTSA to a possible defect in Nissan's airbag control system for this vehicle and to register my dissatisfaction with how Nissan North America responded to my request for a remedy. I purchased this 2009 Nissan Rogue AWD at auction on 3 July 2013. Nissan's leasing arm was the previous owner. I noticed from the outset that the light indicating the status of the passenger side airbag sometimes showed inactive, even when an adult weighing over 50kg was sitting in the front passenger seat. However, the problem was intermittent, and brown's fairfax Nissan was not able to replicate the condition when I took the vehicle for a check on 13 July 2013. The problem is occurring more frequently of late, and now the front passenger side airbag occasionally shows that it is active, even when there is nothing on the passenger seat. Brown's wanted $128 to "diagnose" the problem but, since it remained intermittent, was not sure anything would come of the diagnostic procedure. At about this time, I received a recall notice for an ECM problem (by the way, the vehicle initially failed emissions inspection in July of 2013 when I took it to my regular service station, but brown's was able to get a "pass" reading). I asked Nissan North America to authorize brown's to conduct a diagnosis of the passenger-side airbag problem at the time of the ECM repair. Nissan refused. Because this problem remains intermittent, I am unsure how to proceed. I do not wish to pay $128 several times for repeated "diagnosis", but clearly something is wrong with the airbag system. I am submitting this complaint in case other instances of this type of problem with Nissan vehicles might have been recorded. For now and until the problem becomes consistent, I will not carry front-seat passengers.

The electrical air bag sensors for the passenger seat have become dysfunctional. The air bag light indicator continually flashes on the dashboard and the specific air bag passenger light stays on. I took the car in for repair and the dealership cleared a code associated with the air bags sensors. The air bag lights functioned normally for only a couple of days and then returned back to flashing and/or staying on continuously. I was advised that the sensors in the passenger seat are not working and that it will cost $2,500 to repair. I understand that there was a recall on 2008 Nissan Rogue air bag systems but apparently there is not a recall on the 2009 models. I am not paying $2,500 to repair sensors in the passenger seat. This seems to be a malfunction of the product that should be addressed by the manufacturer.

I have a 2009 Nissan Rogue. Bought it used from year, at about 55000-60000 miles the air bag light starts to flash with no incident before. I went to the dealer he found a B1018 code and says my front seat sensor is no good. Needs to replace the front seat assembly, and wants 3000$ for that. I looked in the web and saw this is a serious problem with the Rogue. And they had some recalls because of that. I find it hard to believe they could locate all the bad sensors the used so probably I got a bad sensor to start with. Don't know what to do now with the car. Any suggestions" help" I think Nissan should bare the cost of this problem.

The passenger air bag light intermittently indicates that the passenger air bag is off while the seat is occupied by an adult. This is the same problem for which a recall was issued for 2007-2008 Nissan Rogues and many other Nissan models. The Nissan service department cannot find the problem.

We were attempting to remove the propeller shaft to the rear wheels as the universal joints had worn out and the propeller shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was up in the air on a hoist.the ignition was in the off position, front & rear bolts to propeller shaft were removed, one of the two bolts for the mid-ship mount was out. Our technician then heard what sounded like a firecracker go off. What we found was that the side air bags had deployed! we then accessed the fault codes in the SRS system and found the following. B1211 rollover detection, B1081 & B1086 pretensioner rt ft & lt ft (open),B1145 & B1150 curtain module (open), B1177 ft rt seat belt pretensioner, & B1018 occupant sensor (unit fail). When we checked with the Nissan dealer in kalamazoo, they sent us a tsb, dated 01/27/2014 # ntb08-055C which addresses problems Nissan is having with all vehicles!! we have found numerous instances of this happening to owners of Nissan's. we were using no power tools on the vehicle when this happened. I feel that these bags are deploying on people and causing accidents not the other way around. These vehicles need to be recalled. We have saved the parts that were replaced to get the vehicle repaired, for your inspection. There are many complaints from Nissan owners, on line, that the side air curtains have deployed, at stop lights, when shutting doors, driving out driveways etc. Thank you in advance for looking into this matter.

So shortly after purchasing this vehicle brand new the passenger side air bag would deactivate when sat in. As was this a very intermittent problem and would not do it when we had time to take it back to the dealer the car now has 30,000 miles on it and now when nobody is sitting in the seat the air bag stays on at all time, and when sat in it deactivates. I took it back to the dealership at 29,000 miles and they said due to the age it was out of warranty and it would cost a lot of money to replace the entire seat cushion. They saw I had my iphone on the seat and said that is probably the reason for the failure. Ok so a pressure switch is hurt by a phone" I see there was a recall for 2008 units and wonder if this should apply to 2009 as well as this air bag not deploying my result in serious injury. It is now May 2013 and this issue has been now verified by the dealer and under 36000 mile warranty, why is there not a longer warranty on such a serious safety issue"

The passenger side airbag light would occasionally comes off indicating deactivation while the seat is occupied and while driving or stopping. Passengers (me or my wife usually) are about 119 pounds and usually set in the middle of the seat. The deactivation light would sometimes stay on then off while driving or until the car is turned off. Nissan has changed the car front seat cushion on 24april2010. The problem still occurs more often than before. I contact Nissan ([xxx]). Nissan rep would not return my call.[xxx]asked me to take the car to the deal first then call him back. I did and left many messages. I got no reply back. I want this issue fixed before warranty is over. This is a major safety issue. Please help me.
