Rogue 6-cyl

  • 50,000 miles
I took it out of town on a business trip 200 miles from home..only to have it start acting up about 2hours from my destination. Going up hills, my car lost power, would no longer go above 60mph(not too safe loosing power like that when the speed limit is 75mph). You could push the accelerator all the way to the floor, and the car would not accelerate anymore..and the RPM's would not exceed 2. this happened 2 times in the next 2 hours...would last about 12-20 minutes, and then, power would come back, this same thing happened 5 more times in my next to trips, I took the car to the dealer and they blamed Nissan for the type of transmission use in this type of cars. This is not safe. In all the times I lost power going up-hill, and in those occasions there was someone behind me. Every time had to quick swerve around me, to avoid rear-ending me at 75mph, as I lost power down to -60mph.

I had been driving my Rogue and my kids and I were going home. I was in a left turn lane in a busy intersection and halfway through I lost power. I barely made it out of the intersection, and after a minute the car went back to normal. It has happened twice now and the second time was worse than the first. Nissan sys there's nothing wrong.. we did have the transmission flushed at their recommendation.

Very little acceleration from pulling off from a stop, will not pull off from an incline in drive, overdrive or low gear.

Rogue

  • 61,000 miles
The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while that driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle began to decelerate and the engine rpms would not exceed 3000. The accelerator pedal was abnormally depressed to the floorboard; however there was an extremely slow response. The failure occurred whenever the vehicle was in operation for over two hours. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.

Rogue 4-cyl

  • 30,000 miles
Driving from denver to summit county up 1-70 the vehicle lost power and would not go above 3000 RPM during climbing causing rapid slowing on a very busy highway. It has now happened several times and every time since I've driven up there since May. Twice I've had it in to the dealership who claimed it was due to high transmission fluid (which had not been changed since purchase). It has been lowered twice. The last time this occurred it was so bad that I pulled off at an exit for fear of safety. I turned off the vehicle and let it rest for a few minutes. Started it back up and attempted to do a U-turn. With the gas pedal all the way to the floor the vehicle only inched along leaving me stranded across the road and vulnerable to a crash if another vehicle had come along.

When turning right, there was no acceleration as I pushed down on the gas pedal. This has happened on a regular basis and occasionally has happened heading straight in traffic. There is often a lag in acceleration when pushing down on the pedal. Tough in merge situations.

Rogue

  • 44,000 miles
2010 Rogue has repeated problems with acceleration. Specifically from a stopped position. And when on a hill, if you are stopped, it won't accelerate at all, even when pushing driving pedal all the way down to the floor. On top of this, it now will not hold a cruise with cruise control on the interstate. Extremely dangerous when attempting to turn left from a stopped position without a green arrow. This is apparently, according to complaints, a very common problem, and there needs to be a recall. Have called dealership three times to schedule service and tell them about this major problem only to be told I would get a call back with no call-back. Am showing up tomorrow with my car insisting on an answer.

My car's transmission failed while driving home. I have a long commute to and from work. Luckily I was able to get home at 20 miles an hour and was not hit by a tractor trailer. My commute is a long drive on congested highways. I could have been killed. I have been having issues with the vehicle for a while. I recently had some work done to the car and bought Nissan parts, I bought 4 spark plugs and all 4 were broken/defective. I have had this car for 2 years and have major issues with it in that short span of time.

Rogue

  • 520,000 miles
From day one I have had nothing but problems out of my Rogue. It won't crank half the time and then it started stalling on the interstate. While trying to go over hills or trying to accelerate the rpms would rev up but the vehicle would lose speed. I would start out going over a hill doing 75 mph and by the time I reached the top of the hill I was doing 60 mph. The car actually stalled in the middle of a four way intersection and after being driven for 30 or so miles the vehicle would start missing on the interstate. I brought the vehicle to the dealership and the transmission was replaced. This has solved the speed control/stalling problem, but the new transmission doesn't want to shift gears. I was told this was an upgraded transmission with two gears and that it would shift different from a regular transmission.

Rogue

  • 8,000 miles
After driving the vehicle on the interstate for 45 miles, I got off on my exit it just lost power. It would not accelerate and when it did, it was slow. Would not go 40mph. It didn't matter how much I pressed the accelerator pedal, it would not go. I was holding up traffic and it was scary. Nissan of saint augustine Florida said they could find no fault or codes. Today (almost 2 months later) it did the same thing. This time it was raining and almost got into an accident. I think something is wrong with the vehicle, maybe a lemon. It did this several times before, but this time I'm going to ride with the mechanic or I'm have to create a video of the incident, just incase they don't believe me.

Rogue

  • 1,700 miles
The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Rogue. The contact was attempting to accelerate from a complete stop yet the vehicle would not respond. The contact abruptly depressed the accelerator pedal into the floorboard yet the vehicle would not accelerate over 5 mph. The vehicle was shut off and resumed normal operation when restarted. The dealer performed a diagnostic and determined that the cvt valve body would need replacing. The vehicle was left with the dealer where the contact was awaiting repairs. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 1,700.
