This last time to the Nissan in my area, I had them look at my passenger airbag sensor, as the sensor indicates off, even if there is no weight on the seat. My service advisor and the head of the service department both said that it's not clear if the airbags will deploy if the sensor is off. They said I could get it replaced, but the issue is: It will cost $2,600 because they need to replace the whole seat. Come to find out, this is actually an issue reported to the NHTSA from other 2011 Rogue owners. I am the primary driver in my family, but now I am worried to Transport anyone. It doesn't look like there has been a recall, but this is an issue that can cause me to sell my vehicle and not get another Nissan. I am now worried of getting into an accident and knowing full well my airbags, the one thing built into the vehicle to keep people safe, may or may not deploy, and may or may not keep people safe. $2,600 to fix a car defect isn't an option for me. Planning a funeral for someone who chooses to ride in my front seat isn't an option either. I am truly at a loss for what to do next, but I am heartbroken that it's come down to those two options. I wanted to keep my Rogue for a few years more - I love it, but safety is my number one priority. I wish safety was a priority to Nissan to make this a recall, but it seems like profits have surpassed customer safety. The sensor has been on for months, but the first time they said there was nothing that could be done.

Vehicle passeger airbag sensor in the front passenger seat is defective, after speaking with my mechanic, I was informed it was a known issue, but there was currently no recall. The only way to correct the problem was to replace the entire passenger seat to the tune of $2500. Nissan needs to accept responsibility for the " known issue".

There have been numerous complaints made about the passenger side air bag defect in the 2011 Nissan rouge. My car failed the state inspection because the air bag light was blinking on the dash board. I took my car to the Nissan dealership as no one else was able too. Nissan informed me that the air bag sensor in the passenger seat was malfunctioning and would have to be replaced. The only way to replace the sensor is to completely replace the passenger side seat at a price of $2,000. If the sensor is so buried in the passenger seat that the entire seat has to be replaced, then that is a factory defect and is Nissan's responsibility to fix it at their expense. You would think that with all the complaints and the fact that this is a major safety hazard, Nissan would want to recall and have this problem fixed! of course, then they couldn't collect $2,000 for every seat replaced for this defect. The warning light just started blinking about a month ago, but who knows how long the air bag has been defective, maybe the light doesn't blink until it is critical because the air bag button always showed the air bag as off no matter how big or small the person sitting in the seat was. This is a safety hazard and attention should be paid!

"takata recall"my 2011 Nissan Rogue airbag light started blinking while driving to work in my local area. It continues to blink while car idles as well. I had it looked at that afternoon at garage. They said problem in driver side airbag not working. Confused as this is a safety feature factory installed and yet I as the consumer must maintain faulty safety equipment as well as daily maintenance to this vehicle. Just spent $2000 dollars at Nissan getting all maintenance required done.now this too.

Bumped into a large curb on the passenger side hit right at the passenger front door that is when the air bag light came on. Took it to Nissan dealer to be checked was just reset the first time 4 days later came back on took it back was put through a diagnostic screening again was told it was showing the OCS unit was malfunctioning. Told me that it needed to be replaced which was in bottom of seat. My question is how could something like that get damaged if it is in the bottom of the seat when hardly anyone ever rides in that seat. I was going 5 miles per hr. When I hit curb.

I am currently driving a 2011 Nissan Rogue. Several days ago my airbag light started flashing. Middletown Nissan said this vehicle is not part of a recall. I was also told there were not any Nissan airbag recalls. According to what iresearched, this is not true. My concerns are my safety and the idea of paying for a repair that may be part of a recall please advise me. This is the sixth Nissan vehicle I have driven:a very loyal customer

On my way to work a little over a month ago, my airbag light began to flash. At first I thought that maybe it was flashing because my work bag was on the passenger seat. I later took the bag off and placed it on the floor to see if it would go away but it did not. I also had someone check the wire connections under both the driver and passenger seats to make sure that the wires were not loose and they are not. At this point I am not sure what else to do because I contacted Nissan and I'm not making any progress. The airbag light constantly flashes whether stationary or in motion.

I've noticed that even an adult passanger is seated on the front passanger seat, a yellow airbag light on the center console, and at the very same time, a red warning light on the dash comes on, and remains on. Took car to universal city Nissan, but they did not service it. They did indicate that the sensor is faulty and does need repair. And estimate$1200 to repair. I do not understand, it seems a safty matter, and I believe it shoul be covered by my warranty. Please help me find out why I have to drive around worried if this safety device will not cause injury, or and accident, or accidental deployment. The lights were reset by Nissan, but as I drove a block, the light activated with an adult in the seat. I want Nissan to put it in writeing, if they can reasure me that this is not a safty issue. And assure me that there is no danger of airdags being defective. If there is a warning light, then there exists a problem.

Passenger air bag light has come on and stayed on--without anyone or thing in the passenger seat. Dealer says that must mean the passenger airbag is deactivated. Contacted Nissan--they say it will cost $2100 to fix. They want us to pay $700 of that--since the car is 5 years old. It has 83,000 miles on it. Since airbags are a federally mandated safety feature, I would think that Nissan should pay all of the cost of this fix.

Vehicle was brought in for an oil change at 73,000 miles. No prior mvas or maintenance issues. After leaving the dealership the front dashboard airbag light was blinking intermittently. Immediately taken back to dealership and the test indicated a "front crash zone sensor failure" repair would be approximately $1800. Was told that airbag may not deploy in a collision or could deploy at random. Either dealer damaged the vehicle during oil change, or front crash sensor on model vehicle is faulty; causing high risk of injury or death in the event of a collision or malfunction.

The passenger airbag light turns on and the airbag shuts off while a person is sitting in the seat and the car is in motion. This happened at 50,000 miles and Nissan replaced the seat. It happened again at 79,000 and Nissan will not fix the problem. The dealership turned off the blinking light but again when a person sat in the seat the airbag turned off again. I was told that they are not sure if the airbag is working. I have an extended warranty (100,000 miles) but they still refuse to fix the problem. This is the same problem that Nissan has recalled older and newer models of the Rogue. I did research on-line and this is an ongoing problem with Rogues and other Nissan vehicle. This should be a recall item for the safety of passengers because for no reason the airbag malfunctions during use and where it is safe to pull over. I called the Nissan complaint department and they told me I should be happy because other people have this problem and it occurs more frequently. I'm not happy or impressed, still no recall. Please help there are citizens that have this problem and Nissan is ignoring us.
