Driving at 70 mph going uphill the car, with no warning or indication, slowed down to 25 mph. Press the pedal fully would not make the car go any faster. It was in the summer so it was very hot in California. When you on the freeway with two babies the last thing you want is your car slowing down to 25 mph. This is extremely dangerous. Took it to the dealer and they said it needs a transmission cooler. It tool 3 months for them to get the part. They installed it in the winter and of course it is not hot anymore. This summer we drove out to Arizona during a record high heat wave and once again this time driving 75 mph with the cruise control on, it disengaged and I pressed the accelerator down and the car slow to 60mph on flat ground. Then on a slight incline the vehicle slowed down to 45mph in a 70mph zone. Out in the middle of the desert with my family. This is unacceptable for a car that was supposedly fixed. Took it to the dealership and they said the transmission needs to be replaced. So I called Nissan and they said sorry we cannot help you. They do not even own up to a manufacturer defect. Do not buy this car! Nissan Rogue 2012 test drive them in the hottest part of the summer and I would recommend to drive it uphill during this time.

Lost power going uphill on a freeway. Could not get off the freeway as I was in the middle lane. Car made whining sounds but would not go uphill. I was pressing gas with no effect just noise. Turned on my emergency lights and stopped in the middle lane causing back up. Gladly I had cellphone signal and was able to call a tow. This is unbelievable on the new vehicle with 8K miles. After the tow to the dealership it started and drove normally. Good thing that dealer was closed and I had no choice but test it. I will take it to my local dealer for check up but new cars should not loose power like that on the freeway.

While driving at 30 mph and attempting to accelerate the throttle went to the floor with no response from the RPM's or vehicle speed. Power sersumed after about 5-10 seconds. Additionally when starting from a red light the vehicle would not respond from the throttle being depressed and would only move at about 5 mph for 5-10 seconds then power would resume. This has happened multiple times in 2 week period. First service visit they duplicted the condition and replaces brake pedal sensor. After three days issue returned. Second visit the adjusted brake sensor. Now have car back and will see if issue is resolved. This is a very dangerous situation.

Originally the car would hesitate, bog, only while turning or slightly rolling. Additionally now it hesitates from a dead stop. Sometimes it hesitates, goes, then hesitates again. It is an intermittent problem but it occurs while pulling out into traffic or turning through a light. I'm afraid the car will stall and I'll be hit broadside or from behind. The dealer has looked at the car 4 times and says it's the way the cvt transmission works. The car did not do this during the first 2000 miles. I have been driving for 50 years and never had a car operate so dangerously. I am in a lease and Nissan will not take the car back. Thank you for your time.

After a panic stop which activates the ABS system, this vehicle is unresponsive to throttle input for an excessive period of time (10 seconds or more). This has been demonstrated to the dealer and a new, similar vehicle showed the same performance. The dealer indicates it must be inherent with the vehicle, no fix is available from Nissan. This unresponsiveness after a panic stop is un-safe.
