Rogue

  • 7,658 miles
I purchased my car brand new in March 2018. It has less than 7700 miles on it. On July 30, 2018, I was at a red light (completely stopped) on a dry city street, with my foot on the brake, when my car suddenly lunged forward into the vehicle in front of mine. Despite my foot remaining on the brake, the engine continued to rev until I took my foot off the brake and reapplied. I purchased the safety package for my car, and not only did the brakes fail, but the safety package, that is supposed to prevent a collision, also failed.

Rogue

  • 6,800 miles
While driving down the highway the power dropped to the car. The rpms dropped down to almost zero, the power to the radio and fan motor stopped as well. I went from 65 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour in a matter of seconds. Thankfully I was not hit by another car. The second issue is that the engine feels like it might stall upon start after sitting all day. This has happened multiple times. The third issue is that the bluetooth radio system has a whistling sound when trying to use this and be safe while driving. The fourth issue is that the interior back door pulls to close the door both pop out and cannot be pushed back into place. The vehicle has been away from me for a significant amount of time so Nissan can try and make repairs. Consumer Affairs told us that simply there was no fix for the bluetooth issue and that the back door pulls was a design flaw from the manufacturer.

Forward emergency braking keeps engaging with no object in front. Has happened several times. The latest time was this evening. It engaged on the interstate at a speed of 65 mph dropped speed to 45 with a semi truck directly behind me. Other times it has happened when driving up or down hills, when accelerating on the on ramp to the freeway.

I experienced my car accelerating when not on the gas. I wasn't sure if it was my imagination but it's happened several times. I went out to start my car a few weeks ago and my key wouldn't turn. A red key appeared in the dashboard flashing. It took several minutes before the key eventually turned. This only lasted a day. Fast forward to now my car keeps stalling. I took it by an auto zone, I was told it was my alternator. Well I just purchased this car new last year. It's only a year old. This morning, it gave me the same issue. I go to turn the car on drive out the lot and it keeps stalling. No indicators in the dashboard are indicating anything is wrong. I'm afraid something is seriously wrong and do not feel comfortable driving it. I just dropped it off at the dealership where I purchased it. Per the staff, everything is normal. I'm now awaiting a diagnostic check.

Try to open on a highway either left or right window when you are 60 miles and up. And your ears could suffer severe damage.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. While the vehicle was in park with the engine running, it rolled away while the contact was exiting. The vehicle rolled over the contact's foot. The contact sustained a broken foot that required medical attention. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by a dealer or independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000. The VIN was not available.

Rogue

  • 19,000 miles
Was driving down the highway at 55mph when I heard a loud explosion like a bomb went off. I could then hear air blowing through the car. I pulled off the highway only to realize the sunroof, which had been closed, had completely exploded. There were no other vehicles around me at the time and was traveling on an open stretch of highway with no overpasses yet the hole on the sunroof looked like a crater dropped from the sky through it. Thankfully I had the shade closed or this could have caused a serious accident.

(Feb) forward emergency braking system faulty. I have filed another claim before this but there has been more development and answers to the unknown as to why it is doing this. I spoke to Nissan arbitration dept last night and they have found that it is some traffic lights that are causing an interference and causing this system to set off audible beeps followed by a red light (according to user manual it is the Feb emergency warning indicator). It will then brake on its own...sometimes more significantly than others. I do have a picture of the light going off which I will attach to this complaint. I have had this car for 6mos and it has been in the shop 4 times. I feel this car is a lemon. I am still fighting with Nissan but as of last night they said that Nissan has no interest in replacing or letting me repurchase at this time, but they will offer a cash settlement.

We pulled up to a stop sign and stopped on a slight decline getting ready to make a right turn. The car beeped four or five times and the engine shut off. Restarted with no problem and have had no repeat of this. Called the dealership and they have never heard of this problem. Emailed Nissan and am waiting for a response. Little frightening to take it on the freeway.

Rogue

  • 6,535 miles
Vehicle randomly accelerates weird. When trying to accelerate from a stop sign or traffic light, it goes to 20 mph and hesitates with gas pedal pushed. The rpms rev up to 4,000-5,000 RPM, but the car does not accelerate beyond 20 mph. After about 10-15 seconds, vehicle will accelerate to normal speed. This causes me to sit idle at times fearing for my safety. Nissan service cannot get any fault codes to trip or figure out what the problem is. The service manager says it is my spouse and I's driving habits; however, the general manager at the dealership says it is the transmission. Nissan refuses to do anything further with this and my safety is at risk based on the unknown timing of this event. Does not happen at a certain time of day except randomly. Nissan is aware of all of the dates/times/locations it has happened since January 1, 2018.

There is a safety issue with the front braking system. There is even a document send to the Nissan dealerships notifying them that it is a known issue, but there is no fix as of yet the engineers cannot even find a cause for the issue. I asked for a copy of the letter, but, of course, it is a "confidential" document and only privileged parties are able to have access to it. What happens is there will be an audible beeping (two-three times) and immediately after your car will slam on the brakes on it own, which in turn kicks on the anti-lock brakes. There will be nothing on the sensor or nothing in your path in front of you. It does this spontaneously. This was while I was driving!!!! this has happened to me 3 times already. When hooked up to a diagnostic tester, it throws a code that there was something in front of the sensor. The date marked on this claim/report was the last time it has happened....so far....

The vehicle started shaking/vibrating heavily when sitting in traffic on a busy highway just three weeks after purchase with the check engine light going on the same day. It continue to have thump/shake/vibration when idling (parked or stop light) and going at reduced speeds (rolling off the gas pedal when parking or in heavy traffic) after multiple visits to the dealership. The vibration seems to be associated with a continuous sudden dip in the RPM as it dips and goes back to to where it was. The dealership has adjusted the RPM settings multiple times and the issue shifts from vibration to thumping but does not disappear, clearly not resolving the root cause. Currently, I've owned the vehicle for 3 months and believe there will be a recall for something in the near future as a new car should not have these sort of issues out of the gate. Timeline: Purchased: 8/7/2017 check engine light turn on: 8/31/17 1st dealership visit: 9/1 (found dtc for P0300 but could not replicate issue and changed nothing) 2nd visit: 10/2: readjusted idle speed as per bull # ntb15-048A 3rd visit: 10/21: Increased idle to 670 vehicle now operates with less power and RPM still dips and surges (less frequently but still occurs) contacted Nissan for replacement or re-purchase and was denied per dealership comments. They recommended I take to a different dealership 4th visit: 10/28: Could not replicate, no changes made at this point, I am reaching out to you and BBB. I bought this car with the full intention of keeping for 10+ years, but feel unsafe driving this vehicle especially considering I live in the nyc tri state area and traffic is just a fact of life.

This veh. Has forward emergency braking which never works as advertised and presented by Nissan. A crash will result every time if you fail to brake. Dealer says system is aligned and there are no codes, but it simply doesn't work. I test drove a second new veh. Just like mine, it failed to work too. The Nissan video on Feb shows two independent warnings along with braking intervention if necessary to prevent a collision. Well, this just never occurs. It simply does not work. I'm sure there are thousands of unsuspecting folks driving this veh. Under a false sense of security. Nissan will not admit to a problem with this system. I have read online threads of others making the same complaint I'm making. This veh. Warrants independent testing as this system relates to safety.

I was driving down the highway around 9:30am on 10-27-17 when it sounded like a gunshot. I then heard glass raining down on the top of my sun shield. My sunroof had exploded. I was only around two vehicles when this occurred and there was no road debris. Nissan stated they will look into this issue but that I need to turn a claim into my insurance.

  • 5,000 miles
On October 11, 2017, the vehicle's 'intelligent safety shield' feature cause the vehicle to unexpectedly brake while moving at approximately 65 mph on the interstate 10 freeway. This malfunction nearly caused a serious accident which could have resulted in serious injuries. We immediately contacted the Nissan dealer and they did have the vehicle towed to their service department for inspection. They have had the vehicle for approximately 1 week and are now contacting us requesting that we pick up the vehicle, despite the fact that they have not repaired the vehicle or even know 'exactly what the problem is' in their own words.
