Rogue

  • 59,363 miles
The vehicle stalls when attempting to accelerate after a complete stop at a stop sign and traffic light. This issue has been going on and off from the year 2020 until now, March 22nd, 2021. The acceleration stalls have almost caused about three accidents so far in busy intersections in North jersey. I have brought the SUV into Nissan service center three different times and their response was, 'scanned vehicle, no dtc codes found at this time npf no problem found at this time'. I have multiple video documentation showing a high RPM of 3-4 while vehicle's mph is barely passing 20mph, resulting to the engine check light appearing and the malfunction error message illuminating on the dashboard.

Rogue

  • 55,000 miles
Vehicle transmission stutters and struggles to shift in higher gears. Occasionally knocks. The transfer case was faulty 3 months ago and broke/fell apart while I was driving down the highway. The vehicle almost lost control and the dealership said the transfer arm had snapped. The transmission still makes the same heavy knocking and occasionally 'slips' as the cvt transmission hesitates to shift. The vehicle has very slow acceleration because of this and even when accelerating at a slow speed like from a stop sign the tires will jump as if the axles are moving faster or slower than the transmission is firing.

As I was driving on a city street on 09/03/2020 my car decided to stop automatically by itself in the middle of the street. The breaks locked up and the steering as well, I was thrown forward almost hitting my head off the steering wheel, I didn't because I had my seatbelt on, thank goodness. If there was another vehicle behind me I would have most likely died. This is completely unacceptable and should not be happening. I called the dealer where I had purchased it from, performance Kia in moosic, pa and they can not get me in for a whole week which is also unacceptable because I have to drive it in order to get my children around and myself to work, this is scary and needs to be resolved. I noticed plenty of other people complaining about this issue as well!

My car has been dying intermittently for the past few months while stationary. Today my vehicle shut off while I was driving home on a residential street, traveling approximately 35 miles per hour, causing the steering to lock up and my vehicle to abruptly stop. All the indicator lights shut off as well. Another vehicle had to swerve into the other lane to avoid rear ending me.

Rogue

  • 49,200 miles
On March 31, 2020, while slowing for a traffic light, my vehicle began to shake violently and as I came to a complete stop, the engine shut off. Upon taking the vehicle to a local Nissan dealership, I was informed that the engine wiring harness would need to be replaced. This is a problem, in and of itself, because this component can typically last for the lifetime of a vehicle except in cases for which there is extensive damage to the vehicle such as an accident or flood, neither of which have been the case. Multiple external service technicians have agreed that this type of mechanical failure should not be occurring in a newer model vehicle with less than 50,000 miles. It is my firm belief that the mechanical failure of a component which rarely fails point to poor quality of craftsmanship and should be investigated as a potential recall issue as it poses a safety issue and the occurrence of such an issue at this stage of a vehicle's life is highly unlikely.

Car tends to shut off. This is the 3rd time with no resolution other than, 'perform another diagnostic and get a rental.' I was parked. Was ready to leave at/or about an hour later; wouldn't start. It does not recognize the key.

My Rogue has been brought in 4 times for safety issues. I have contacted Nissan and not getting anywhere. All my sensor lights came on and ABS. My car broke on the freeway going 70 mph to 50 mph. Luckily no one was behind me. That happened in May 2019. I was terrified to drive and used my husband's car. I looked up and they said if ABS lights you should not drive and have it towed because it could start a fire! then it happened again and I was on a side street going 40 mph and it braked to 30 and there wasn't anything in front of me. I don't want to drive this car at all. I want them to just take it back. I drive as a home care nurse for a living and it is not safe when driving is a big part of my job. I have brought ther car in 4 times! not safe!!!!

My Nissan Rogue has experienced the same issue 3 times in a 2 month period. 1st time - driving, crossing a busy intersection front end shuddered, shook heavily, check engine light came on. I was able to drive it to local mechanic who ran diagnostics and stated there were too many codes regarding the electric system and recommended I take it to dealership. Took it to local dealer, diagnostics were run again, and they reported they were not sure of the issue, suspected damage to the maf sensor (which was then throwing off the report of all other sensors). They replaced it with Nissan manufactured part and electric tape and I was told it was good to go. 2nd time - stationary making a left onto busy main street, car shuddered, stalled, no check engine light completely stopped. Unable to drive it, when changing gears it just coasted backwards (due to the hill I was on). Had it towed to the same dealer, told the same thing as previous visit 'not sure what's wrong, probably the sensor, ' was told they replaced it again with Nissan manufactured part and 'taped up real good this time.' However could not guarantee it wouldn't happen again, also still no idea what exactly caused the stalling. 3rd time- driving straight after being stopped at res light, car stalls, engine light back on, and unable to drive it. The car coasted to the nearest shoulder and now waiting for a tow truck to take me to a different dealership, whom hopefully can fix the problem that continues to happen.

When driving in snowy conditions, the air intake filter clogs with snow resulting in an immobilizing loss of engine power. When driving from Colorado springs co to lawrence ks in March 2019 while it was snowing, we lost power and had to stop three times to clear the snow from the air intake filter because the engine lost power and could not ascend the rather gentle hills in Kansas on interstate I-70. This causes a very dangerous situation for two reasons. First, the very slow moving or stalled vehicle causes a hazard for the other traffic is travelling at normal highway speeds. Secondly, stopping along the highway during snowy conditions to clear the air filter puts the operator of the stalled car in danger as well. I have driven many other different vehicles in snowy conditions and have never had this problem. I believe the 2018 Nissan Rogue sport has a design flaw that allows the air intake filter to easily become clogged with snow. The Rogue sport funnels the intake air directly from the grill, while other vehicles seem to have placed the air intake in a more protected location in the engine compartment.

Rogue 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. While operating the vehicle, the brake assist randomly activated and caused the vehicle to decelerate and/or stop. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a representative was sent to examine the vehicle at priority Nissan (6390 richmond rd, williamsburg, va). The front sensors were replaced and a software update was performed, but the failures continued. Also, while in reverse, the rear sensors malfunctioned and failed to alert that a second vehicle was positioned in the rear, which could cause the driver to back into another vehicle. In addition, while driving with the cruise control engaged and set at 55 mph, the speed would increase on its own while driving on a curved road. The cause of the failures was not determined. The failure mileage was 5,000. As of 5/30/19 no volume with navigation system still, A/C not working right. Vehicle continues to jerk when pushing on the gas. Remote start not working again, Nissan connect has frozen up again. Consumer was told by the dealer there was nothing to repair or fix aside from the things that showed up on diagnostic's. I was travelling in my vehicle when I came to a red traffic light and stopped. Once the light turned green, I proceeded to go forward when my vehicle seemed to slowed down on its own. When I stepped on the gas pedal, it seemed the vehicle didn't want to move forward. The other issue is that this morning I was driving in my vehicle when all of a sudden some sensors seemed to be set off. I then pulled over and turned of the ignition. I was then able to start my vehicle and proceed to my destination without another occurrence.

Takata recall. I brought a brand new 2018 Nissan Rogue in April of 2018. My engine light came on and the car only has 9000 miles on it. I took in to the dealer and they claim the light is on because a rodent chewed the wires belonging to the harness. At 1st I was given a loner vehicle and told my transmission was having problems. On Friday I took the car to the dealership. They were very unprofessional from the beginning. Now 4 days later they tell me a mouse ate my wires and that's not something they cover for a harness and now they want to reverse the charges for the loaner car making it a rental. Also my gas gauge off and on displays empty and the car is full of gas. My car is driven everyday there is no way a rodent if any type would even ever survive I'm my car. This is utterly ridiculous. Nissan just does not want to repair the vehicle. They told me it's not there problem it's a machine and they break down.
