My 2015 Nissan Sentra has received routine maintenance since I had purchased it new as the original owner. The vehicle was taken to Authorized Nissan Dealerships for routine maintenance and transmission diagnostic test 50,220MI. During this time the vehicle was within mileage and time warranty per Nissan settlement of the CVT transmission. At the time, the transmission was experiencing surging and falling RPMs at or around 2900RPM traveling above 70MPH; heavily prevalent at speeds +75MPH. I had also mentioned to the technician the problem seems to worsen after driving for duration's when the transmission gets warmer. At lower speeds it would sometimes jerk or 'downshift' rough during accelerations. The dealership had pulled no codes during the diagnostic test, "test drove and could feel a slight trans slip/judder when going uphill especially. no codes present."(technician) The issues became more prevalent, I felt my safety was definitely at risk on the highway, as well as my car could not be depended upon for longer distant trips especially, became limiting factor. The vehicle was brought back again for routine maintenance and another transmission diagnostic 57,899MI. Surging and jerking issues had worsened. While entering a connecting highway the car had accelerated to 55MPH before 'shifting' and the had risen to 4900RPMs. Following the incident my vehicle would experience rougher 'downshifts' and jerkier acceleration than before. At this visit to the dealership the transmission diagnostic test pulled a code P17F3-Auxillary Gear Box Ratio error. I am currently seeking Nissan Motor Corporation to remedy my claim with the information presented, affecting my safety, cost of transportation and time to visit the dealership, and the significant lost value of my vehicle with its limited power-train life span of only 57,899MI.

The CVT (transmission) in the 2015 Nissan Sentra SV failed at 67,000 miles. The vehicle had regular maintenance and had previously had a preventative transmission fluid flush at 45,000 miles. There were no warning lights to indicate a vehicle issue. The car began to hesitate when accelerating and then lost all ability to accelerate while driving at highway speeds. The vehicle was not able to accelerate, which would have endangered myself and others if I had not moved the vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway quickly.

My 2015 Nissan Sentra with 86,603 miles, was taken to the dealership service department on 12/26/22, because of faulty acceleration, rpms will rise but vehicle will not accelerate properly and hesitates to go, especially on the highway, causing a serious potential for an accident and crash. There were no warning lamps or messages ever displayed in the vehicle. A technician also drove the vehicle and confirmed the faulty acceleration. The service department scanned the vehicle and found NO codes present. I was notified by the service department that an update was available and I was charged $410 for the update. With this update, they found a stored code P17F3. I was told that the CVT transmission was shot and needed replaced. I was quoted $5,500 and told that this transmission was not under any type of warranty due to mileage and date. I have found multiple articles concerning Nissan extending the warranty on some of the CVT transmissions, as well as Class Action lawsuits against Nissan on the CVT transmissions, and would like to find out how I can be added to the lawsuit. I also contacted Nissan Headquarters and they did agree to a 50/50 split.

The CVT in this car is faulty. The transmission has been rebuilt but it still has the same issue. The transmission doesn-??t di room properly and although the rpm-??s increase the car will not accelerate. I-??ve taken the car to Nisan dealerships. They now deny that this issue exists and will not offer a fix. The car is a safety hazard. It loses the ability to accelerate at low and high speeds. While on the highway or in the city the car loses the ability to maintain or increase speed. There is also a known issue with this car related to the brake switch and moisture in the tail light. The dealership knows by way of Nissan corporation sharing an article with them about this issue in other cars and knows that the brake switch is faulty and that the car can brake and accelerate at the same time but no recall has been issued. These issues are ongoing, have been happening since the car was about 3 years old and happen regularly.

My Vehicles stalled on me on multiple occasions one in particular I was with my family including my two year old daughter. when the car began to violently jerk on the NJ turnpike, total ambarassment ensued and ultimately I had to drive that way for about an hour or so. I had a Mechanic from Nissan come to my home and the diagnosis was the tranny was done. Rip to my baby at 115k miles so sad.

While driving, the vehicle-??s rpm-??s will bounce up and down. When accelerating the vehicle will stutter, transmission slip, or not go when gas pedal is all the way down. This has left me in the middle of intersections when the light is turning red, it-??s has had me on one lane roads being unable to move. The vehicle can be in motion and just stop risking an accident. I have had the codes checked due to check engine light being on. Check engine light has not been accurate with readings. From one day to the next the codes will change. After the transmission went out it finally read codes related to the transmission. After making the suggested fixes it still functions the same. Prior to getting code related to the transmission the vehicle indicated that there was something wrong with the fuel system. I have had a certified mechanic look at my vehicle confirming the above. The codes read on multiple occasions and fixing what was suggested has not made any difference.

The transmission quit working in rush our traffic in St. Louis, Missouri. The incident nearly caused a severe accident, if it hadn't been for two alert drivers during rush hour. After sitting for approximate sixty minutes waiting for a tow truck. Just before the the tow truck arrive another tow driver was going to pick up another vehicle "he stop to help." The tow driver was going to tow the vehicle. He was testing to see what the problem. As he started the vehicle he put it in drive and nothing happen. After a few minutes it jump in gear. The vehicle was driven home with loosing power, surging, and RPM going up without acceleration. This happen in late November. The car continued to jerk, stall, and loose power over long trips. The car was taken to the dealership but they could do nothing until they put a device on it to read codes. This was completed December 20, 2021, I was notified to drive the vehicle for several days up to a week and bring it back to them. The vehicle was picked up and drove per dealership instruction. The car was returned after Christmas. The tech perform a TCM update. They tested and drove the vehicle with myself in the car. The manager concluded the car had transmission problems that pointed to the transmission but it would not reveal a code. Until they get a code or approval from Nissan there was nothing they could. On about January 28, 2022, I was instructed to pick up the car. Also, I was instructed the car was unsafe to drive. It was bitter cold (12 degree) fifteen minutes into the drive home the service manger call (note after hours). The vehicle stalled/loss power and a multiple of problems. Approximately twenty miles away the vehicle caused an accident in which I suffer frostbite and damaged to my left hip. With the assistant of the State Trooper I was safe until the tow truck from D and K arrived. The vehicle was towed back to the dealership and remain until present date, [XXX]. I bought this car with the understanding that it was in drivable condition with no major problems bought in 2017 now in 2022 there is a problem with the CVT transmission which I have just learned had been in several class action suits I took it to the dealership who only took it for a drive and said they heard a weird noise. Then I was informed it needed the transmission replace at a cost of over $4000 which I don-??t have they told me my warranty was expired and the extended warranty given by Nissan was no good either they offered to give me $1000 to buy my car I still owe $9000 on it and then proceeded to try and sell me another car. They didn-??t care about me nor my problem. I never got any information about any class action lawsuit. I feel that they were deceptive and hid the truth from me about this defective transmission. I want a replacement with no cost to me. I would not have bought this model if I was told about this major defect.

After getting my transmission serviced, my car started jerking often and lagging on speed from 0-35. Once hitting 40 mph, it would create a loud rev up and a rough kick back. It has stalled out and started up numerous times while sitting in freeway traffic and traffic light controlled intersections to the point that I had to move it and park somewhere safe for 10 mins for it to restart then stall out again a few mins later down the road.
