The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. While the contact's spouse was driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle would no longer accelerate. He pulled over to the side of the road and the vehicle was towed to a dealer. The dealer stated that the tail pipe clamp detached and burned through the electrical wires and shorted out the electrical system. There were no injuries. The current and failure mileages were 37,000. Updated 11/06/08 updated 11/07/08.

1. travel down dirt roads over a period of six months. 2. tail pipe fell off (on this model 4X4 off road package the tail pipe isn't welded to the muffler) total vehicle failure of all electronic components as the wiring harness melts due to exhaust being vented directly on wiring harness also melts dust cover for shock and ABS sensor to axle housing. 3. replace tail pipe, shock, ABS sensor, wiring harness and all electronic components.
