I received a recall notice (recall 06V-459) from Nissan approximately 4 years ago regarding the wiring harness being defective. The original notice did not mention that it would require service only if the airbag light was on or flashing (which it was not). I brought my vehicle in for the recall (at kelly Nissan of lynnfield MA), not knowing this and they simply taped the wiring harnesses after inspection and recorded the recall serviced on the Nissan Titan and most likely charged Nissan of North America for parts and labor for a harness replacement. At 65,000 miles I started to get the airbag sensor light on my dashboard flashing constantly. I researched the flashing code from the sensor and it turns out to be related to the passenger side wiring harness. As recently as 2 weeks ago I received what I thought was another recall notice from Nissan of North America which clearly stated this time " if the red airbag warning lamp is illuminated - please contact your dealership immediately for repairs", after scheduling another appointment with the same dealership that did the original recall and bringing the vehicle in they told me that the recall had already been done and the was no other action that could be performed without a charge to me. The vehicle has never been in an accident as I am the original owner. I find it difficult to believe that if a vehicle has a recall and parts are replaced that the same failure will occur with the replaced parts, hence my conclusion that the actual work was never performed only recorded as such against the vehicles (VIN). Any help you could provide would be appreciated. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Took my truck to the dealership several times and told them that my manual shifter was intermittent. They said they could not find anything wrong with it. But when I left the dealership it was not working. It finally stop working at all. Took it back to the dealership and they found a broken ground wire. The cost of the part $413 labor $375. I did not get it repaired because of the cost. I went online and researched it and found it for $253 and putting it in would be easy for myself. After a couple of hours on research on how to install this, I came across several sections of people with the same problem. Come to find out Nissan is aware of this problem. Being that over time shifting gears made the wires break. How is it that certified repair centers don't keep up on these problems. I spent a lot of time going back and forth to the dealership. And why isn't Nissan covering the problem. I'm very disappointed in Nissan for this and has made me change my mind about my next vehicle purchase.

My 2005 Nissan Titan is exhibiting the failures as outlined in Nissan NHTSA recall campaign 06V459000 (electrical system / wiring harness) and NHTSA recall campaign 10V074000 (fuel system / fuel gauge system). After reporting my issues to my local Nissan dealer and Nissan Consumer Affairs, I was told my VIN was not included in either recall campaign. Nissan Consumer Affairs finally gave me a case number and told me to have my local Nissan dealer diagnose the truck and provide the written diagnosis and cost estimate to a Nissan Consumer Affairs specialist. After paying $85 for a diagnosis, the local dealer confirmed in a written diagnosis and estimate, that my truck was experiencing the same failures that the 2 recalls cite and that my truck needed the same remedies as outlined in the recalls. After providing this information to the Nissan Consumer Affairs specialist, Nissan declined to cover my repairs stating that my VIN was not included, I did not have a complete history of Nissan servicing my vehicle and that my vehicle was outside the limited warranty term. I knew my truck was outside the warranty term, my truck needs to be included in the recall campaign, which has nothing to do with warranty. Nissan is negligent in not including my truck in the recall. I have seen this same complaint from numerous others in my same situation, on this website and other online forums. The recall needs to be expanded as they obviously are not covering all vehicles affected by the failures cited.

Prior to leaving for a trip I stoped by the dealership that I bought the truck from informed me that the exhaust was broken due to rust I was also told that there was no issue with driving it to nc from ct on the way back from nc the trailer lights failed and I started receiving slip ABS brake and 4WD lights on my dash. I return the truck to the dealership and was told that the exhaust had melted the wiring harness where it had broke/rusted. I spoke to another dealership and was told this was a common issue where the wiring harness would melt when the exhaust brakes/rusts... I was also told that they had seen some where the whole tail lamp had melted.

This vehicle has more common failures than any I have seen. Both of the rear leaf spring shackles rotted out. The rear axle seals are now leaking. In 6 months I have replaced 2 oxygen sensors and now for the 2nd time I am replacing the evap canister control valve. Nissan seems to ignore all of these issues and has redesigned many of these problem areas in newer models however does not own up to fixing the issues on vehicles that are on the road.

Driving North on the highway @ 70mph, vehicle backfired and engine shut down, no power steering or brakes. Moved vehicle off the highway, cranked but would not start. Left vehicle for the day and returned and replaced a recalled (but known good replacement) ECM relay and vehicle started and ran correctly but showed ses light and code showed P0335 crk pos sensor. This vehicle had a catastrophic failure while driving which represented a serious hazard to both the driver and surrounding vehicles should the driver has panicked in this situation and heavy traffic. To date the vehicle is a Nissan facility and still has not been repaired at great expense and inconvenience to the owner.

Rear axle seals, locks, & gaskets need to be replaced and the dealer is charging approx. $800 to fix the problem. The oil is leaking onto the wheels from the axle problem. The switch for the driver controlled windows is out and the air pressure light comes on almost 80% of the time. The driver seat belt appears to jam and won't come undone or latch on most of the time.

I was having an issue with my engine stalling with around 97,900 miles on my 2005 Nissan Titan. At this time, my check engine light also came on. I took it to the dealership to get the problem code read and they said I had faulty bank 1 and bank 2 catalytic converters. The dealer said the stalling was due to a recall, NHTSA campaign id number: 10V517000. My complaint is that I had no problem with my catalytic converters until this recall issue. Since my catalytic converters and exhaust manifold are one piece, it cost $2,827.28 to have them replaced and I do not feel I should have to pay this, since this problem stemmed from their recall issue.

Routing of main rear wiring harness through the right rear wheel well exposes harness to road debris, sand, water, salt, snow, ice, etc. Which degrades the harness prematurely causing and electrical short in the harness. The short in the harness caused the wire insulation to catch fire and melt all electrical insulating material and the harness jacket. The harness short, in-turn shorted out the BCM (body control module) causing the failure of all systems controlled by the BCM (lights, turn signals, brake lights, hazard lights, etc.)

2/3/10: 2005 Nissan Titan breaks down on hwy 71 at the light right before the entrance to the airport. My 120 lbs fianc has to work to push the truck out of the lane with cars racing by at 60 mph with our 8 month old daughter. 2/4/10: Engaged terry wisdom with maxwell Nissan in round rock and he worked to have my ECM relay switched out and charges $340.06 for the repair.12/29/10: Received recall notice advises to contact Nissan dealer. 12/30/10: - engaged service advisor at maxwell Nissan in rr about the recall and their recent work in February. She advised I have to call into Nissan 800 numbers in order to move forward with the recall. She offers minimal assistance with bridging that gap. I asked her to have her supervisor engage. Supervisors calls back and advises that I have call into Nissan 800. Provides documents, I ask for assistance? and states his dealerships can not get involved. I should have "consider Toyota or Ford with my purchase" but my issues are with a Nissan. Contact Nissan North America kala advises to go back to the dealership to have the part re-replaced due to the service took place in Feb and this recall states anything before November has to also be replaced. File # 7042010 engage GM for maxwell Nissan and I inform him of the history with this issue and customer service experience ive received with his service department. Have I considered going to back to the dealership where I purchased the truck from compares my experience to his dell hard drive crashing. I advised that my check for service if February was cut to his dealership and for assistance with the engagement, he would not. I advised that I was going to post my experience on youtube or facebook, if you do, do not come back to this dealership! service advisor manager it is sad to see our society come to the point of having to use social media

Nissan Titan stalled in the middle of the road. I was driving running errands when suddenly my truck stalled in the middle of the road, I was able to coast to the shoulder lane to let traffic through and to avoid getting hit. I was able to start the engine back and headed home. I did a little research online and came to find out that Nissan Titan is having this problem with the ipdm ECU relay. I think Nissan should address this problem before somebody gets hurt or worse killed.

Truck was stalling and dying, has happened a couple of times. Took truck to dealership to repair, dealer said the problem was the ipdm (module) and replaced it with my extended warranty. Dealer also informed me that I can expect my catalytic converters to go out in the near future, because the ipdm is an important part for controlling the way the engine runs. If this is the cause of greater problems in the future for my truck, they should really look into getting the problem fixed.
