It has same problems as all the 02-08 Xterras but you wont issue recalls on fuel sensor, radiator leaking into tranny, air bag sensors, control arm. Thanks for letting loyal Nissan owners down!!!!

This is one of the many transmission issues with 2007 Xterras where the coolant leaks into the transmission and destroys it. The repair cost is 8500 dollars if the 100000 mile extended warranty has been passed. I contacted Nissan and they told me that this is my responsibility despite the hundred of complaints regarding the exact same issue. When driving at any speed, when the Xterra changes gears there is a rough vibration that keeps getting worse the longer it goes for. Had I not learned about this on my own Accord this could have resulted in a very bad accident.

We were driving on the interstate and the check engine light came on and the fuel gauge dropped to empty. We stopped to get gas and the tank was only half empty. We had the mechanic check the car when we got home. He said it was a fuel sensor problem that was common in Xterras. We have not fixed it yet. We are concerned that we'll run out of gas on the road, especially on longer trips when you can't keep the tank mostly full. We are also concerned that our check engine light won't reveal other problems to us. I don't know why there isn't a recall for this issue.

My radiator went out in the starbucks drive-thru. I had it towed to a shop & was told it is a known design flaw by Nissan where the fluids are mixing & the only thing I can do now is replace the radiator & "hope" the fluids did not go into the transmission. Got the new radiator & had a trans flush 3 times & paid about $1800. It is now a month later & my service engine light is on. Today, I am told I need a new transmission which will cost $3800. This is our only car. We do not have the funds to pay for a new transmission. For safety reasons, we urge you to please issue a recall on this poor design by Nissan where the fluids are mixing & causing safety concerns to the consumers.

I have a 2007 Nissan Xterra. At about 61000 miles I filled the gas tank. When I started my car I noticed the fuel gauge was still sitting on empty. Soon thereafter the "service engine soon" message appeared on my dash instruments and has not gone off since. I notice there have already been about 156 of the very same problems reported with many of the people running out of gas because of this. There should be a recall for this item.

By not knowing exactly when this vehicle will be out of fuel it can be an unsafe condition for my wife and granddaughter to ride long distances in this vehicle.

I've noticed that Nissan has been under investigation for receiving a number of complaints from consumers in regards to sudden, catastrophic transmission failures in 2005-2010 Nissan pathfinder, frontier and Xterra's. well I am writing to tell you that my 2007 Nissan Xterra has fallen victim to this. It has been diagnosed with the problem of the transmission fluid cooler located in the radiator assembly that allowed coolant to mix with and contaminate the automatic transmission fluid, resulting in damaged internal transmission components and a damaged internal transmission computer. I had no warning signs leading up to or just prior to the failures. What is Nissan going to do about this"??? recall ?"

I own a 2007 Nissan Xterra with a faulty fuel senor service bulletin #ntb-07-069C. Called Nissan several times and the corporate office called today 11/14/2012 and refused to repair warranty part. My check engine light came then my fuel gauge went to E then back to half full I stop to put gas in then went to full for about 2 miles then to E now its on E and light is on all the time. Plus check engine light is on all the time. Had my friend check to truck connected to gage to it and it read error for fuel sensor error. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs they said even through there it a recall for certain Xterras not mine even through the same symptom's are reported on recalled trucks at Nissan.

While driving, the fuel level indicated it was empty and the check engine light went on. This became an issue weekly from that point on. The problem would go away, and then come back on. There is no way to tell the fuel level in the vehicle during this. Nissan issued a warranty extension for this known problem, but not a recall. This should definitely be a recall situation. They know it is bad, and it is a very expensive fix. Nissan confirmed ton 10/3/2012 at regal Nissan in roswell, that the problem is the fuel level sending unit. They need to replace it with updated parts.

Gas gauge does not work and the ses light stays on. I did research that turned up that the 2006 and 2008 models are effected by a recall for the gas tank collapsing and crushing the level sensor. This is potentially the exact situation that I am seeing with the 2007 model and its hard to believe the design changed, then changed back to the faulty design over the three years with out the recall being issue until 3/22/11. This problem should be investigated.

After filling up my gas tank, the fuel gauge does not immediately increase to full. The low fuel light remains on, and very slowly the needle creeps up to the top, probably after driving 30-50 miles.
