Consumer complained about hazard warning switch problem. A recall was currently issued. However, this vehicle was not included due to VIN.
- Longmont, CO, USA
I found a recall on the NHTSA site which exactly described a problem I am having with my turn signals failing to function. Upon reporting the problem to a GM dealer, I was informed that although I am having a problem exactly as described by the recall, my VIN falls outside the recall group. My vehicle has a dangerous malfunction that won't be replaced by the dealer because supposedly the problem had been fixed.

Intermittently. Turn signal and hazard warning light were not working. Dealer and was manufactured were notified.

The hazard warning switch is causing the turn signals to malfunction.
- Springfield, MO, USA
Vehicle's turn signals and hazard lights failed. The consumer stated the problem his vehicle experienced was similar to recall #03V327000, however the vehicle was built prior to the affected vehicle, the consumer replaced the hazard switch himself at a cost of $28.

Hazard light and turn signals work intermittently. The dealer florin road Kia has looked at it twice and still not fixed the problem. Also the window on the passenger side will not roll down. I have already replaced the drivers side window motor. I am very unhappy with this car, I just bought it in February!!!!!!!!
- Sacramento, CA, USA
Consumer complained that turn signals operated poorly. When the turn signals malfunctioned, the consumer hit the hazard button and they began to work again. The consumer did not take the vehicle to be checked because he was told to take it to an Oldsmobile dealer and when he took it to the Oldsmobile dealer, he was told to take the vehicle back where he purchased it. The consumer replaced the hazard switch at $28 now the hazards and turn signal lights work fine.
- Indianapolis, IN, USA
The vehicle turn signals worked intermittent, the consumer had to jiggle on the hazard light switch to get the turn signals to work. The dealer had been contacted.
- Tunica, MS, USA
The front and rear turn signals failed. This problem was intermittent. The vehicle was taken vehicle to the dealership. The mechanic indicated there was a recall #03V327000, but the owner's vehicle was not included. The recall did not include the 2000 Alero models even though the vehicle had the same problem.

I bought the car 1 year used, and the brakes had just been replaced by the dealer. Not even a few months later the brakes started to pulsate and the steering wheel would shake upon braking. I replaced the rotors and brake pads with the best on the market, thinking it would last a long time. A few months later the same problem happened again. They should do a recall on the brakes. Also the drivers side window motor broke and was replaced. The hazard switch was replaced, the turn signals fixed due to an electrical problem, the gear shifter knob was replaced because it fell off for no reason. The antilock brakes/service vehicle soon lights come on at random times when there is no problem at all. The transmission is leaking as well. I see that many many people with this car have the same problems and Oldsmobile should do a recall on all these things since they are not just random occurrences.
- Oakton, VA, USA
Internal failure on hazard switch.
- Summerville, SC, USA
I have a 2000 olsmobile Alero. The turn signal only works about 89% of the time. The manufacturer has redesigned the switch that fixed the problem but will not recall the switch. This is a serious safety issue and is in my opinion due to manufacturer defect. I have heard several other complaints of similiar problems at a yahoo webpage for Oldsmobile owners. Please follow with this and test, I feel the manufacturer should recall the equipment and be fixed.
