May of 2003 there was a strong smell of gas from engine on my 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora. I took my automobile to my mechanic. He diagnosed the problem as a crack in the fuel rail. He was told by the parts salesman at the local dealership that they had never heard of the fuel rail failing. He ordered a new one that was installed by my mechanic. I now see that you have issue a recall 04V110000 on March 03, 2004 it would definitely seem that the problem is wide spread and I was lucky that I didn't have a fire.
