While driving home my alarm system light blinked on then stayed on. The headlights shut off and turned on. After I parked the car and turned off the engine the theft deterrent system activated and my car would not start for 45 mins. I followed all reset procedures nothing worked. Had to disconnect and reconnect alarm. Now alarm will not work and the trunk/doors open or unlock randomly, radio turns off, lights turn off. Problem has been happening for a few weeks now noone in town knows how to fix.

Bought car used from individual. Lots of issues with it. Steering locks up when driving, take key out and car still runs, lights shut down when driving, traction control kicks in and messes with car. Steering caused me to almost wreck 2X and has had me have to shift to neutral and shut car down on interstate and restart to try to be able to steer.

My G6 currently is not covered in the recent recalls for this problem (not manufactured in the right month): My problem is the same as other G6 owners where my brake lights will illuminate while driving, and will not illuminate when my brakes are applied, which also affects my cruise control. Over the last 3 years I have had the dielectric lubricant applied 3 times and after 8-12 months the problem returns.

1- the car was coming to a stop at a red light when it just completely turned off. Lights, power locks, windows, radio, the car, everything. Would not start after that. After about 5 minutes of sitting at the red light with a completely dead car (with my keys in my lap) the car started on its own. 2- went to get into my car after coming out of the store - the car was trying to reboot itself. All the accessories would turn on, but the car remained dead and would not start. Let sit for about 5-8 minutes (after it tried to start itself about 5 times) - I could start the car 3- came out of the store and it was once again, completely dead where nothing work (could not lock or unlock the doors even). About 10 minutes after of letting it sit, the locks started clicking (as in unlocking, locking, unlocking, locking). Then it started on its own, with my keys in my lap.

I have been having issues with the brake lights on my vehicle for almost the entire time I have owned the vehicle. As it has been revealed in a recall for this vehicle (NHTSA campaign number: 09V036000) the brake lights do not function properly -- they turn on when I am not hitting the brakes and turn off when I do hit the brakes. In July 2009 I thought I had the issue fixed when I took the car to a GM dealer to be repaired under the recall. However, despite the vehicle being fixed under the recall the brake lights still do not work properly. I just got approached by someone following me a couple of days ago that my brake lights are not working again.

I was driving from philadelphia pa to baltimore Maryland. Upon stopping at a light before entering the highway, my steering wheel locked and I could not steer the car. As per ( April, 2014) this is still happening today. I called General Motors, they told me there was no recall on the car and should be taken in for diagnostic testing (that I have to pay for). This car has been nothing but trouble, it's dangerous and continues to lock as I am driving.

I was driving down the interstate at approximately 70mph when my car just decided to shut off. I lost all brakes and power steering. There was absolutely now power to my car making it very hard to control until I was able to get it to the side of the road.

When we turn the ignition key the engine starts but the key remains in start and doesn't return to run.we get no gauges, no power windows, and obviously no air bags, and no radio. If we barely touch key the car shuts off. We were fortunate to be able to park and figure out that you had to physically and carefully turn the key to run. The car died 9 out of 10 times. We had just bought the car and the dealer had earlier shaved the cars key to solve the problem. The dealer then had the lock changed by a certified locksmith. We contacted GM to verify that the new ignition that the locksmith put in wasn't defective, (not that we question the locksmith)and was told the car wasn't on the recall. When we asked whether they could tell if the lock was ok, or if the problem was deeper in the ignition they said we would have to pay $110 just to find out, and if it was defective, $300 more. Now we've contacted GM and got a file number, and guess what" they're blowing us off. We never even knew about the problem until the recall news 2/14.the recall needs expanding. And we need to know if the locks a locksmith might buy to replace, is also bad. GM refuses to give that info. And they say they haven't got the parts to repair their problem anyway. Can it be the ignition lock only or is it deeper"

"power steering" flashed on the radio with a chime then the power steering failed and could not turn the steering wheel. My wife almost hit the neighbors daughter on a bicycle just coming out of the driveway to turn onto the street. Due to mileage on the vehicle (159,000), GM states that it does not fall within the parameters of the warranty therefore not covering the cost of repair. This situation should be a full recall, regardless of mileage!!! the electric pump never should have been built inside this car!

I was driving home from work on the interstate and the power steering light came on the dash. The steering wheel locked up and I could not steer my vehicle. Thank god there was no accident. I had to stop in the middle of the interstate with cars going as fast as 80mph. I turned it off and when I restarted it I had to turn the steering wheel very hard and pull my vehicle to the side of the road.I see tons of complaints online. I was following my wife last might in 2005 Pontiac G6 GT. I noticed her brake lights were on while she was driving down the road and when she applied the brakes, her brake lights would go off. This is the first time I have had to follow her in her car, I do not now how long this has been going on. She bought the car new, it is a one owner so I know no one has messed with any of the parts/wires. I started looking online about this issue and noticed there were several pages on this situation. Also, that there were recalls in the past. We were never notified about a recall. Is this something the dealership should fix or are we stuck trying to fix this issue?
