Took my car to dealer for recall 141152--after I waited along time for parts. Recall-13036--completed they claim recall--14116---claims at first--parts not available--oops then later he claims he found some in the back! recall--14152---completed they claim when we drove the car off the lot it still had shift problem----later found out the transmission pan was leaking, took car and had fluids re-done at jiffy lube. As the days went on the car would not go into gear--it was undriveable in 10 days. Car sits in driveway now and won, T go into any gear. Called Pontiac talked to senior advisor who said the same as the dealer----well we only fix recall stuff we do not look or check other things. So I recalled dealer who said " well bring in the car and we can check it out for $80 and if it transmission it will be $3000/4000 extra. So I did the recall items as told--and a car that was running good before I took it in, now is in driveway with power steering problems and won't go into any gear.as both the dealer and Pontiac said " well now it becomes the consumer problem not ours-we did the recalls". well I guess they fixed the safety issues---if you can't drive your car you have no chance of having problems, so your safe! I will file a complaint to other agencies etc. I am disabled and on a fixed income and this being my only car, cannot fix the car at that price!

My power steering has been going out every time I drive it. It used to just go out on occasion. I drive the interstate on a weekly basis. I was told it is not part of the recall. I think it should be since it goes out every time I drive.

18 wheeler traveling South on X highway and going to make an illegal right turn into a parking lot as I was passing. Truck driver provided incorrect insurance information to local police. Truck driver then provided accident victim via cellphone the incorrect information for a second time. The claims rep of the truck company did not admit the driver worked for them until for this he accidentally said something that proved the driver worked for his company. Insurance information was then provided with the comment, "I could call but wouldn't get a dime". the insurance company did not investigate the scene of the accident physically. They looked at it via google maps which does not show my 18' feet of skid marks. Nor did the request pictures of it, only the car from the body shop. The adjustor lied when taking my statement. They told me they had not spoken to their client or gotten a police report but they knew information that could have only come from their client. I was shocked to find out local police are not allowed to run out of state vehicles to verify insurance. The driver should not be allowed to drive in any state that is not allowed to verify this. My car was paid for now it's totaled. As of 3/16/2014, the truck driver's insurance company has not made any attempt to contact me regarding the accident or the injury.

I've received but can't locate documents indicating that the steering column in 2006 Pontiac G6 has problems. The steering column freezes up and I can't turn my steering wheel when I'm driving and has almost caused accidents. This has been a big issue and dangerous, in fact everyone refuses to drive my car due to this issue. It's especially bad during the fall, winter and spring searsons, not so much during the summer. I have my grandkids in cars and am so afraid they will be injured.

My current problem with my 2006 Pontiac G6 sounds the same as the recall for the 2009 Pontiac G6. Today (12-8-10) I had to bring in my car in to the dealer after putting my car in park, which then proceeded to roll. The wiring system did not seem to recognize park or disconnected from the transmission. I later tried to turn the ignition and the car would not turn on at all. 4 months ago I brought it in for the key getting stuck in the ignition because the car didn't recognize it as being in park. Three other times I had issues with the brake/foot peddles. I would have to break to accelerate and drive to slow down or it would not accelerate at all until it reached 30mph. It would automatically drive in traction control and read decreased engine power on the panel. In addition, I have recently had a fountain of water pouring into my car surrounding the sunroof on either side of panels btwn the front and rear windows, resulting in severe interior damage and subsequent mold spores growing. Instead of the filter surrounding the sunroof filtering water out, it is filtering water in.

I have a 2006 Pontiac G6. My steering wheel gets really tight when turning in any direction then it becomes extremely loose. My radio will not play any cd's and I had to take it to dealership once to have it replaced because it caused my battery to die. My right passenger light has water in it. My remote starter no longer works on the vehicle. My passenger side tire sounds as if the ball joint is loose in it.

The contact owns a 2006 Pontiac G6. On a very hot day, the contact opened the door to her vehicle and smelled something burning. She noticed that a part of the driver's seat, the glove compartment, the interior ceiling, and a small portion of the dashboard appeared to have melted. She took the vehicle to the dealer, but they could not find any failures. They stated that they would search technical service bulletins for more information and get back with her. As of June 9, 2008, the contact has yet to hear from the dealer. She called the customer service department and filed a complaint. She was informed again that she would be called back, and when she was, the customer service department stated that nothing could be done. A representative came out to inspect the vehicle and informed her that she would be responsible for the damage. The current mileage was 16,835 and failure mileage was 16,546. Updated 07/08/08. My vehicle was purchased October 3rd, 2006, as a demo vehicle with approximately 9,000 miles. Begininning at end of December my heater/air came on itself and running on high. Unit would not shut off while vehicle was running. I took vehicle to dealership & kept approx 3 days and replaced complete heat/air unit. Beginning in January my console lights come off and on on a regular basis. All guages go to zero and all lights in console light up. Vehicle was then taken back to dealership and console was replaced. This did not resolve problem and starting doing again the the very next day. Kept for approximately one week and have taken back to dealership and have been told that two technicians have checked vehicle and they can't resolve the problem. At 18,998 miles vehicle was taken to dealership and determined rotors were failing. They would not replace rotors but turned them and said if that failed before warranty expires they would possibly replace
