November 6 2014 I purchased a 2008 Pontiac G6 I had a scheduled visit to repair a cracked gauge cluster, a seat repair and repair of my adjustable pedals while on the way to the dealer for repairs I noticed a hesitation in my transmission when shifting from 1st to 2nd. I notified the service writer of that happening and she said they would look into it. I was given a 3 month 3000 mile warranty that said nothing about who would pay for any repairs. It was in service at least a week. They call and say it.S ready and I pick it up it drives fine for 8 days and the electronics stop working all the warning lights are on ABS, traction control the odometer read the word error and my transmission wouldn't shift right. I drove it right back and they took it in for repair. This time they have it for 2 weeks ( I have the paperwork to prove this ). they finally call and tell me it's ready I pick it up no charge again and it drives fine for 4 days.same electronic problem happens again.and now it won't start. I have it towed in they have it for another 6 day. They call say it's fixed I pick it up it drives fine for a couple days and it again all warning lights on won't shift right traction control not working and the odometer reads error again. This time I don't shut it off and drive it right there I could not afford another tow charge I'm on a fixed income. They have it for another 10 days. They call me tell me it's fixed for the 5th time I go pick it up 6 days later the transmission is slipping I bring it in they tell me it needs a rebuild far $2357 and because it is a different problem I have to pay half of the price. I was told by a sae certified master mechanic that multiple computer failures may have prematurely cause the internal hard parts of the transmission to fail it has 60,820 miles on it well under GM mileage warranty. Called GM they side with the dealer

The headlights in my 2008 Pontiac G6 have been replaced several times in the last 16 months. The dealership service person indicates I have a bad connector possibly due to a shortage. I've had several other electrical issues with this vehicle since 2008. Currently the driver side headlight it out. The repair has not been made.

My headlights keep going out on both the drivers side and passenger side. The headlights (low beam) stop working. This has happened 3 times on the drivers side and twice on the passenger side in the past year. I keep having to get the harness replaced because the wiring that connects the harness to socket keeps melting. I have owned this vehicle since 2010 and the problem started approximately 1 year ago, with no alterations to anything prior to this problem. I need to know what's causing this asap or there should be a recall, I have read plenty of other same reports for the same vehicle. This is a fire and safety hazard for me.

This is the second time the headlamp assembly wiring harness and connector has melted. A year or so ago the passenger side harness melted and now, the drivers side has melted. I am concerned about this being a potential fire hazard, if parts are being melted. I have done an internet search and have found that many other people around the county are experiencing the same problem.

The first incident occurred in 07/2013 with approximately 60,000 miles on the car. The ground connector on the low beam headlight socket on the drivers side was melted and the light would not work. The connection was cleaned and the bulb was replaced. The headlight again went out around 10/2014 with the low beam headlight socket having additional melting at the bulb connector and corrosion on the wires. The headlight socket was replaced. It stopped working less than 1 week later. The headlight socket has been melted and both the socket/bulb need to be replaced again.

Headlight and tail light bulbs are melting at electrical contacts causing frequent bulb failure. The last time this happened with the drivers side headlight, not only was there damage to the bulb's electrical contacts, but the wiring harness itself had melted. After complaining to the local GM dealer, they informed me that they no longer made the part and I would have to "splice" in the harness from the GMC arcadia. I do not find this as an acceptable solution as the spliced points will eventually fail also. Furthermore, what normal car owner can or should do this themselves?

Bought a used 2008 Pontiac G6 one week ago. It had an open recall--13036. This was a brake lamp malfunction which could also affect the electronic stability control and traction control (disabling them). Also possible problems were brake lights coming on when accelerating and going off when braking. This also affects the cruise control and the shifter. Had the recall work done today, October 3, 2014. By the time I got home, brake lights were continuously on, cruise control did not work, and traction control and ESC were disabled. This after GM's recall.

My 2008 Pontiac G6 has leaked water since the day I bought it; however, I did not know how bad it was. Finally, the water leaking in ruined an electrical component - the accelerator pedal position (app) sensor. Upon investigation I found black mold all over on the inside of my car (under the carpet). Finally, GM decided to fix the leak, plus clean my carpet. Unfortunately, within 8 months it was leaking again and black mold is all over under the carpet. I worked with GM and the dealership for months; they took a very lazy approach to my situation and did not seem to care. You can actually smell mold when you get in my car. During this timeframe I have become ill and have had many (a lot of) symptoms associated with black mold exposure. General Motors is fully aware of the health concerns, but they don't really care. Clearly this is not a freak occurrence.. another complaint I found on this website from someone else: "the contact owns a 2008 Pontiac G6. While parked, the contact noticed a large accumulation of water on the front passenger's side floorboard. The failure recurred after rainy weather conditions. In addition, there was mold under the front and rear passenger's side carpet. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the air conditioner was repaired. The problem recurred two times and the air conditioner was repaired each time. The contact had concerns of the health issues related to the mold. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The failure mileage and VIN were unavailable."

Rear passenger door will not lock/unlock. Loud, rubbing noise coming from steering column when making turns. Low beam headlights work intermittently (got stopped by a policeman and warned of a citation the next time I would get stopped). I changed the bulb twice. Low beam headlight will stop working, but the bulb is not actually burned out. As a result, I had driver side bulb wiring replaced by dealer, due to charring that was present on the wiring harness. Then, it started working again. A month or so later the other one went out. Now the passenger side wiring is charred, but the bulb is fine.

When I was driving my car all of a sudden the headlights started to flash/turn on and off uncontrollably. I took it in for service and the dealership concluded that my wires has melted and fused together. He told me that I was lucky that there was not a fire that started, that is how bad they were melted. I had to replace wiring harness and get new bulbs, which cost me $400. There are many complaints about this issue in online forums and I am scared that something like this could happen again. I believe that it is related to the May 14, 2014 recall regarding the electrical system, electronic stability control, vehicle speed control. This is terribly dangerous and needs to be addressed by GM before more innocent people get hurt, please help!
