Cruise control stopped working completely following 8 months of intermittent outages. Stopped by state police officer and informed of brake light staying on. Confirmed break lights were staying on whenever brakes were not being apllied. When brake lights were applied, the brake lights would turn off for approx. 5 seconds. Fixed by applying dielectric grease to the electrical contacts of the main body computer.

I start the car the brake lights come on, I then step on the brake pedal and the brake light turn off. I have very narrowly missed being rear ended half a dozen times in three days thankfully no body has been hurt yet. I have a three year old son that rides in the backseat of my car! you guys need to get on the ball, the already known recall obviously needs to expand to at least 2008. How much longer do you need" this is how its gonna work, I go to a GM dealer, tell them my problem. They tell me "oh, its just the....." and I say "how do you know that?" "there is a recall but not for this year, so you'll have to pay" see the problem here"

Replaced the H11 bulb (drivers side) due to it no longer working. Installed new bulb and with a little wiggling of the connector got it to work. Thru the week the light would work and then not work. If ya banged the housing it would come on. Today (June 15, 2013) I went to replace the H11 bulb and found the connector melted on one side. The wire was exposed and shorted out. Replaced the connector and installed a new H11 bulb. Seems to be working fine. This is the second time this has happened to me. The passenger side H11 bulb had the same exact issue a few months ago. High beam wiring seems to be intact with no issues.

I was changing my front passenger daytime running lamp and headlight and realized there is massive corrosion in both light sockets. The replacement bulb did not initially illuminate and it took several minutes of working it into the socket for it to finally light. Several days later my dash information counsel illuminated and read "auto lights off" indicating that my running lamps were no longer on.

Rear door locks stopped working with remote entry, then eventually stopped working with front drivers/passenger side locking mechanisms. Took to dealer who replaced lock actuator (?) under factory warranty (after multiple break-ins because rear doors weren't properly locked!)

2008 Pontiac G6, brake lights work opposite of what they are supposed to. Brake lights are on when the brake pedal is not pressed. Once the brake pedal is pressed, the lights go out. Cruise control won't engage every time (works intermittently).

While trying to pass an 18 wheeler up hill, the car down shifted into the passing gear, at 5000rpm all of the warning lights started flashing on the dashboard. I also lost power-steering. A week later while trying to parallel park, I lost power steering. No flashing lights just now power steering. It took all I could to turn the wheel.

The driver side back door lock started intermittently working, using the remote or driver's lock button, and within 2 months completely stopped working. It can be operated manually, however, considering where the lock is located, it is extremely difficult and inconvenient to get to. Looking online, this seems to be a very common issue with this automobile. There should be a recall on this.

This vehicle has many problems starting with the seat belt in the rear of the vehicle is malfunctioning, brake lights are on all the time, water pump went out in 2012, the transmission shifter sticks in park, the car has shut down on the street while driving and the service traction control message appears, the two rear passenger automatic door locks do not function properly, the trunk button is inoperable. I am fed up with all of the electronic issues and have tried to have them resolved at the dealership paid to have them fixed and it has returned. The roof of the car is showing rust and the steering column was clunking which was fixed underwarranty.

I have had several problems with my 2008 Pontiac G6, one of which I have contacted GM but am unable to pay for a diagnostic at a dealer to then be reimbursed, which is for the actuator on the rear driver' side door that prevents the door from locking and unlocking; a huge safety concern. I have to check the door each time I exit my car, as it being locked or unlocked is completely unpredictable. I have found many posts on www.G6ownersclub.com where owners share similar stories; along with other costly, safety issues I experience. I will also note some other issues I have regarding the dome light and the door ajar essage. I have to leave my dome light in the off osition because when left on auto, it does not dim and turn off. On days I have forgotten, I find my dome lights on after 12 or so hours of non-use. In an effort to not forget and drain my battery, I leave it off; this leads to my having to get in and out of a dark car at night and early in the morning. Also, the door ajar message displays constantly and often makes a beeping noise in warning. I have read online that there is an issue with the door sensors, causing "door ajar" to appear. Other than being purely annoyed, my concern is that if a door were to ever actually be ajar, I would have no premise to pull over and check. Also, the warning noise does sound at times when the message is not displaying, which leads to distracted driving as I check for issues on my instrument panel and that all passengers are wearing seat belts. All three of the aforementioned issues started within a few months of one another in 2011, shortly after my lease ended and I purchased the vehicle. I appreciate your time in reading my concerns. I have anticipated a day for a recall to assist those like myself, who live on a limited income and cannot address all of these non-debilitating, yet unsafe G6 issues, out-of-pocket.

When replacing a head lamp on the passenger side I noticed that there was burnt plastic on the connector. I am worried that this is going to heat up to a point and cause a fire. I have noticed that there are a lot of people complaining about this issue and it should be addressed.

When you set the cruise or are just driving down the highway or in town the brake lights will come on without tapping the brake pedal. This will shut the cruise off and the brake lights will stay on for an extend period of time. Not safe at all!

I notice my passenger side low beam headlight was out so I bought a couple new bulbs to replace both lights. After I opened everything up I notice the whole inside of the headlight was burned and melted. I've been looking into this and it seems many, many other people are having this same issue. I am concerned about wiring and connectors catching on fire in this car now.

I kept having my headlights blow out and continued to replace them. Finally brought the car to my father (who works as a firefighter/ fire investigator/ fire inspector) who noted a post electrical type fire in the harness of where the bulb plugs into. The harness and bulb were since replaced and then again 4 days ago the same thing happened, my bulb blew out and went to look and the harness was again melted with a strong electrical burning smell coming from the connector. Another bulb was placed without replacing the harness 2 days ago and today is again burnt out. Strong electrical odor coming from the headlight area.

First the rear door actuator worked 50% of time.then 0%. cruise worked intermittent. Brake lights on while driving.hence stuck on. Passenger side airbag module faulty. Inopt. In that order. Al have to be related and its a known problem in Pontiac. And GM wants 730 to replace module 232 for door actuator.its B.S recall 2008 G6. They have recalled G8 for similar problems.

Low beam headlight (driver side) goes out randomly. Have replaced bulbs and it happens again a few days later. After a few more days it goes out again and then a few more days it comes back. I have removed headlight assembly and used electric tape to hold wires together tightly but it still occurs. Seems to be a common problem with G6S based on all the problems posted on the internet. Last time they decided to go out was on the highway in a snow storm. Definite safety issue.

A few weeks after I bought the car (had 50K) I knew there was something wrong with it I was entering onto the highway and it was hard to get it to 70 the trans was sputtering and the car was jerking. It does this at all speeds just super scary when im on the highway. Now I was pulling out onto a main road and it would hardly go and said engine power reduced, service traction. Sometimes its not on but it will come back on within a few minutes. When its in this mode it jerks to get it to 25 it feels like the transmission is going it jumps so badly and startles me I scream like a little girl. I made an appointment at GM dealer to look at it they had my car from open to close and told me to come get it and they did not have a chance to look at it. This is a huge safety issue. This car is unsafe. I have a whole list of issues with this car, its junk. I have to hold the key I the on position for up to an 8-9 count for it to start. Wheel shakes when I brake, I have new brakes and rotors still does it even though everything is in good repair. Right blinker does not turn off on its own, the left sometimes does not work either. I have a head light that keeps going out I've replaced it 3 times in 6 months!! the check engine (check gas cap) light is on. The shop said its some type of leak or air flow problem with the gas system. Also sometimes when I turn it on it starts to idle all crazy. This car is to new I take care of it, to be having all these problems im at the shop at least every other week. This car is an unsafe huge annoyance !!

The wiring in my headlight is either burning or shorting out my light bulb. There is the connector to attach the headlight to the car that is get hot enough to melt the plastic. It chooses when it wants to work and when I put in a new light bulb (I am aware not to touch the light bulb) it will work for about 2-3 weeks and then continue not to work. Seeing as this is obviously a problem and friends of mine who also own the same car have the same problem I am wondering if this is not just a coincidence. This is becoming a huge pain in my rear!!
