I was driving the vehicle on a freeway at 65 miles per hour. With no warning, the engine stopped. Luckily I was in the right lane and could coast onto the shoulder. I tried to restart the vehicle, it would not start. I called for help on the roadside and waited for assistance. The vehicle was sitting for about 10 minutes. I crawled under the vehicle and knocked on the gas tank. I tried to start it again. It started fine. The vehicle has also not started on a separate occasion after sitting for about 6 hours. We have owned the vehicle less than a month.

Parked car to shop. Upon returning, car would not start. Had towed and was told it was safety switch for ignition. During this time a clicking sound would emit periodically from the ignition or turn signal assemblies. Had ignition assembly replaced. Worked for a while and then December of 2013, clicking sound reappeared and hasn't stopped.

The dash is peeling and rolling up it has broke all the vents and has pushed the trim around the speedometer/ rim et down and off. My airbag light comes on often and it is a concern for the passenger side airbag that is starting to push up the cover. Starting to have electrical problems due to it pushing pressure on the fuse boxes. I also have it pushing on the door allowing water to run into my car at the fuse box speaker and into my floor. I see this problem in several other vehicles with the dash. These problems are a safety issue and should be addressed and fixed by GMC before a failure to one of these systems and cause injury or death.

Car will not start, security light blinking on dash. Car "thinks" it's being stolen and will not allow the car to start. I'm being told it's related to the passlock system.

It has been an ongoing incident with this vehicle. The car does not start consistently. I have had to pick my daughter up at all hours of the day. I have had to leave work because she could not get her car started. The car has turned completely off in intersections, and at high speeds. We are using my car because her car is extremely expensive to get fixed. I checked if it was on the list of recalls. It is not, but I do feel it is dangerous. Please compensate me or direct me where to get compensated for the amount of money it will take to replace the key and ignition module. That is what the dealer told me had to be replaced.

While driving on expressway or street the car stalls without any warning. The car unexpectedly died cutting off while driving. Must try to merge off and out of traffic immediately. Happens on smooth and rough roads. Unsafe. Driving a 2003 Grand Am with same problems as the recalled vehicles. Please advise, support and service.

Passlock problems had the cylinder kit replaced, car still goes into the security pass problem, took it back same day after it was supposedly fixed, same problem car turns over but does not start, have to repeat several times then it stars, security red light flashes on when turning over key to start engine, no other problems detected by dealer ship, again going to take it in this Friday Oct 11th 2013, have read on forums of this repeated problem with GM cars forum is townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.F0F6220/52 Pontiac Grand Am security passlock problems.

Turn signals about every two tries will stop working and sometimes you can get them to come back on by hitting the hazards.

The contact owns a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked when the horn activated independently. The contact pulled the fuse and disconnected the horn. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that either the horn pad or the clock spring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 103,185.

Coolant leaked into engine caused problems, wouldn't start half the time, couldn't fill up without gas pump cutting off constantly (took 20 minutes to fill up). Took car to dealer and other shops spent tons of money problem not solved. Got so feed up with this car I pulled the tags and bought a Honda. It is really unfair how the manufacturer of this car was allowed to get away with putting out such an inferior product. There should have been a major recall on any number of these problems. I was never notified of any recalls or the class action law suit.

Sometimes, when applying the turn signals, the turn signal does not activate, even though the turn signal lever is in the correct position. The relay does not click, and the turn signals do not flash. Also, at random times, the turn signal relay can be heard clicking rapidly on and off when the turn signals are not turned on. The turn signals do not turn on when this occurs, just the relay in the dash clicks. As stated, this happens randomly and can go on for hours over a long drive.

The contact owns a 2003 Pontiac grand-am. The contact stated that he attempted to start the vehicle but it failed to turn over. The contact mentioned that he attempted to restart the vehicle multiple times. Also, the contact stated that the horn would go off by itself at different hours of the day and in order to deactivate it he had to push on the horn multiple times. In addition, the contact also mentioned that the steering wheel did not lock after shutting the vehicle off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the problem. However, the mechanic advised the contact that the failure might be cause by an electrical issue and he would need to consult with his local dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000 and the current mileage was approximately 50,000.

The contact mentioned that the anti-theft warning lamp illuminated and he had to restart the vehicle in order to reset the system. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,0000 and the current mileage was 160,000. Updated 11/13/12 the consumer stated he must wait 10 minuntes to restart the vehicle. This occurs very frequently. The dealer would not service vehicle until a $100 fee was paid. Updated 11/27/2012

We began having problems starting our car, the security light was on and stayed on. Some days it would start and others it wouldn't and then it eventually would not start at all. After being in the shop for a week and stumping the mechanics, we still have not solved the issue. Everything has been checked from the fuel pump to the sensors and they all tested good. Our ignition went bad and since we had it replaced it has been bad. This car has left us stranded places with three small kids. We have to leave the key in the on position for about ten minutes then turn to off then start and sometimes it takes three or four times before it works.
