Front gas tank strap pulled out of frame of truck, gas tank was hanging about 3 inches from ground and grinding against drive shaft, strap cradle that was attached to frame was totally rotted away, truck has 46,000 well maintained miles and is in excellent condition, when I returned to dealer on 1/30/2018 where I purchased the truck new in September 2012 they informed me frame is rotted and not repairable, they apologized and told me they could not help me in any way. Desperate for help I went to a local mechanic and I learned the frame was not rotted but the bracket on the frame had rotted away. This mechanic welded everything back together and I paid him $400 out of my pocket, after reading some Dodge Ram forums I learned I am not the only one who has had this problem, luckily for me nothing bad happened I was only going 20 mph on a local road, gas tank had just been filled and holds 32 gallons of fuel, just thought I should report this so it does not happen to someone else with a worse outcomes,

Fuel pump relay in the tippin went out. Stationary as would not start. Took to shop, shop owner said he has seen this in other Dodge Ram(recently as two weeks before we brought ours in), was told that several models have been recalled for this exact same problem(Dodge Caravan, Jeep Cherokee, and the Dodge durango) but the Dodge Ram is not included. He repaired the vehicle using the fix that was used on all the other recalled vehicles. Gave us info on where he found the fix which in turn opened our eyes that hey there or lots of these faulty fuel pump relays out there. Went to the Chrysler dealership where my husband was told, yes they have been seeing this as well and to save our receipts just in case it was added but that there was nothing they could do at this time and there were no plans that they new of for it to be added to the recall. Talked to Chrysler corporation and they said they are not the ones who adds cars to the recall they could do nothing for us either. Cbwpr091aa was the replacement number for the part given to the shop owner from mopar. Just wanted to pass this along since several other Chrysler vehicles have had this same recall and we live in a city of around 10,000 so if several people in our city have had this same issue with their Dodge Ram, then surely there at tons more out there. Thank you

Exhaust manifold bolts constantly break. This causes exhaust leak at the cylinder heads in the engine compartment. I have had this repaired twice in the past year and the problem is there again.

There is a known problem with the exhaust manifold bolts breaking on the 5.7 engines. I've had to have both manifolds repaired in under a year. This problem allows exhaust fumes to enter the cabin exposing the occupants to carbon monoxide.

My vehicle started acting up a few times when I would go to start the vehicle, the engine would turn over and then stall out. I thought it was strange, but continued to drive it. While driving down an ice and snow packed road in the middle of traffic my vehicle stalled out; lost all power steering, brakes locked up, lights shut off, and I almost ended up rear-ending the car in front of me going 45 mph. I pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and was able to get it started again. Since then I have taken it to the car dealership and they told me the win module needed replaced along with the key fob ($725) that was not covered under my warranty. Upon further investigation I see this is a common problem. I called Chrysler headquarters and they told me that there was nothing they could do about it. This is a serious issue and needs a recall! it has done it several more times while driving. I have no other choice but to drive the vehicle due to it being my only means of Transport. Something needs to be done about this. I've had the truck less than a year.

Tipm failed to work correctly resulting in no fuel pressure periodically and without warning. Engine would fail to run. Sometimes it would be ok and then sometimes the engine would not run. Ram said they would have to locate a new tipm. They didnt have one because of alot of these had failed, so theyre in high demand. Why arent these being recalled then??

Received recall notice that a steering wheel harness could rub and deploy the airbag at any time. I took the truck to hollywood Chrysler hollywood fl and they repaired and returned. When I arrived and for the preceding months prior my "fuel economy display" indicated my average mileage was 15.8 gallons per mile reasonably within the specs for this vehicle. Following the wiring harness repair the display now (and for more than 2 weeks ) reports 11.8 mpg. Somehow the repair altered the fuel usage of the vehicle. The dealer checked and said nothing was wrong. But my mileage has gone from 15.8 to 11.8. I'm not driving differently. I'm losing 30% of my gas and the vehicle is now under advertised specs of 14/20 mpg there is an issue they don't want to discuss. Can the NHTSA contact other owners with this repair and verify" can you help" thanks

My 2012 Ram 1500 has been in the shop seven times in the past year for electrical problems. The original problems were related to the PCM which would short out and cause my vehicle to operate in only one gear. This problem was fixed finally by replacing the PCM and various other parts. My truck recently had the engine temperature sensor, right headlight, and fuel pump control go out all around the same time which made it difficult for my truck to start and when it did start it sounded anemic and would often have alerts going off. The dealership claimed that the tipm was the cause of the fuel pump problems and now I am wondering if it is the route of all the other problems. This most recent repair cost me $1000 dollars and well over $100 in alternative transportation arrangements. My truck is only two and a half years old with 50K miles on it. I should not be having this many problems with this new of a vehicle. Chrysler and Ram have a well documented history of recent problems with the tipm across various vehicles and an investigation needs to be conducted and customers need to be compensated for the problems this part has caused.

At about 18000 miles on vehicle it suddenly stalled. Throttle body control light came on, RPM dropped to almost zero. Pumping gas pedal had no effect. Condition lasted about 15 to 25 seconds. Took truck to dealer and was informed it needed a throttle body software update. This was done. Also was performed again later. The stalling is intermittent some times not happening for weeks then again it will happen up to 3 times in a week.bit once stalled on my lady as she was crossing an intersection. Vehicle now has 77000 miles on odometer. I thought this just a hassle until about three weeks ago. As I was merging on to the interstate at about 65 mph in front of a big truck the vehicle stalled for a long period. The big rig was within a very few feet of my vehicle before engine started running again. Needless to say this scared me big time. This was when I started to look for someone to be in my corner on this vehicle has been serviced by Dodge dealership regularly since new. Each time I have reported stalls and at one time had a case opened with Chrysler. I am told they find nothing and they only have my word this is happening. This from dealer and Chrysler
