Driving vehicle when digital instrument cluster went black and engine stopped total loss of braking and steering assist. Loss of control of vehicle which rolled to stop. No collision or damage to vehicle. Vehicle restarts and driveable no digital information displayed. Dealer says digital instrument cluster failure. Concern definite safety risk if happened in traffic or when turning or stopping. Did the failure of the digital instrument cluster kill the engine or did something else kill the engine and the cluster. If the vehicle is driveable is it safe to drive or can expect repeat of same incident?

Recently had my truck in for routine service and the technician diagnosed my truck with broken exhaust manifold bolts. Truck has 79,000 miles on it. After researching on line I have discovered this is a common problem. Is there an investigation regarding this issue and a possible recall since it happens so often? the truck makes a ticking sound when it is started and gradually gets better as the manifold gets warm.

The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. While driving at an unknown speed, the check engine indicator illuminated without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of anchorage, 9600 old seward hwy, anchorage, ak 99515), but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the coolant bypass valve failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 13V117000 (engine and engine cooling), but the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in a recall; therefore, he would be responsible for the repair cost. The failure mileage was 63,000.

I have a Dodge Ram 15000 crew cab laramie. Both tail lights are malfunctioning in the blinkers. When I turn the blinker on it blinks really fast and says the tail lights are bad and need to be replaced. The lights in the back are half out when this happens. It does not happen all the time. I did see there was a recall, but for my VIN there is not. So it appears all 2013S seem to be affected. I also have a ticking noise in my engine when I start the vehicle. It lessens as the car warms up. I noticed there was a recall in 2012 for bad exhaust manifolds. I believe this is still occurring on these vehicles. I have not repaired either of the items on my truck because I believe it is just malfunctioning. I don't recall how long its been occurring but at least for over a year.

Truck starting to shake and not be able to accelerate, took it to get check out, replace lifters, cam shaft, getting codes of mis fire in cylinder six, then cylinder four. Then cylinder 6 reactivation control performance, then cylinder deactivation system bank 1, oil pressure out of range camshaft advance/ retard disabled. Spent. When driving going over pass or incline trucks starts to shake like its going to explode. Now it is starting to just die and turn off while driving or at a stop sign.

When driving the smell of coolant enters ventilation of vehicle. During stationery position no fluid seems to be leaking. However, on further testing around 2500 RPM coolant starts leaking from water pump spraying coolant throughout the hood onto exhaust which can like describe in other 2013 -2017 Ram models create a fire hazard..

Truck started tapping 4-5 weeks ago. I was advised that it was probably an exhaust manifold leak... to get it fixed at inspection. 5 days ago, truck started skipping and the cil came on. Error code PO302. Mechanic diagnosed as cam lobe failure. The truck has 113,500 miles on it all highway. Synthetic oil; plus fuel. Based on my research... this is a problem that seems to be prevalent. Chrysler should cover this repair. $3500 repair cost for a truck less than 5 years old. Unfair to say the least.

Lifters failed at 129,000 miles. Car began to misfire in cylinder 5. replaces lifters and still got misfire code and terrible running conditions. It would happen at highway speeds during acceleration from 60mph and above. Truck would obviously misfire, vibrate a lot from the engine, check engine light would appear immediately and was almost not drivable. And this only happens randomly. One day it runs fine. Then the problem would appear and not go away. It's frustrating and costly and Chrysler hasn't revised or addressed the issue at all. Parts that were possibly damaged: Valves, valve seats, lifters, camshaft, valve springs, rocker arm, pistons, heads.

On 3 separate occasions, while driving and attempting to stop, the engine stalls. A message displays to "put the vehicle in park, to start", but lost power to everything else. Twice it allowed me to start from park, the 3rd time it would not start. I put it in park, had my foot on the brake, but it did nothing. I shut if off completely, then turned it back on and it started. Additionally, while parked, the driver's side door would not unlock with the keyfob. All other doors unlocked, not the driver's door. I tried several times locking/unlocking, I had to open the rear door and manually pull the lock knob. One other time, while sitting still, the driver's door unlocked itself, when my roommate pulled on the door handle, the door opened and the alarm went off. On another occasion, I was trying to back into my parking space, I went to pull up to straighten out, and the vehicle would not go into drive. I had to shift into park, then back to drive to make it work.

I was at a dealership for service on July 6, 2017 and asked about a ticking noise I was hearing. The service writer explained that the noise was the exhaust manifold. After the mechanic checked he confirmed it was the exhaust manifold. I was told by the service writer that there was a broken bolt and an exhaust leak on both sides. I called Fiat Chrysler America and they contacted the service writer at the dealership. After the representative spoke to the service writer she told me I should pay the $423 (approx) cost to have it repaired since this was not covered under any other recourse. I was surprised that after I explained that the service writer said this was happening on all Ram trucks that they did not have any response other than saying it was my responsibility. The fact that there was a broken bolt and the service writer said it was on all Ram trucks that they should address it due to defective materials. I just want them to accept that it is defective materials and fix this issue.

I first noticed that, while in drive, the transmission would shift to 4th gear and could not be changed. I could shift from park to reverse but when I tried to go to drive it would go to 4th gear. Then, 2 days ago, I began to notice other problems that appeared to be computer related. When I turned the ruck off there would be a ticking noise in the engine. I checked and it appeared to be the A/C/ compressor. Then it stopped when I unlocked the truck doors. Then I noticed what seemed to be the fuel pump ticking as if calling for fuel. Once again, the engine was off and, once again, it stopped. The next morning my battery was dead. I tried to jump it with no luck so I purchased E new battery. Now when I try to start it, the starter makes all kind of crazy noises and it won't start.

On 12/7/16, a desolate, straight, country road, I stopped my truck to investigate damage from a deer that had run into the driver's fender while I was driving about 25 mph. Even though I placed the truck in park after my stop (to make it stationary), the Ram started moving as I attempted to exit its cabin; and then it drove for about 300 feet at idle speed down the road, where it stopped in a shallow drainage ditch. Meanwhile, the Ram's "self-driving" mode had caused me to slip on the running board and to fall very hard to the ground (a distance of at least 22 inches). The results: Pain, hand and knee cuts, extreme bruising and swelling of the entire left leg, and bruising and swelling of the lower right leg. These required some medical attention. Fortunately, there were no blood clots, no broken bones, no dislocated limbs, nor run-over limbs! I was very lucky!!

Check engine came on, took it to get it tested and the code was for cylinder #3 misfire. Checked and replaced spark plugs and coil pack, along with testing the fuel injectors, also good. Performed compression test, failed at 85 psi. Removed drivers cylinder head assembly. Removed lifters and found cylinder #3 intake lifter collapsed and bottom roller locked up. The failed lifter caused the cam shaft lobe to be shaved down. With no cam lobe, the valve cannot open to allow air in the cylinder, causing low compression and misfire. The truck is a a Dodge Ram 1500, 2013. With 116,000. This should not have happened to a truck with this low of milage. This part was found to be defective on Dodge part. Estimated cost $4000.

I bought vehicle new in 2013 and the paint is bubbling on hood ( rusting ) and it also failed emission test when I went to get inspection sticker, I don't believe I'm asking to much that a vehicle 3 years old not rust and pass an emissions test.

Shortly after buying this pickup it would stall, the dash had an red electrical indicator exposed. The power steering shut down, the brakes were no longer power brakes.. this happened at speeds up to 45 miles an hour. Never happened at high speeds. I live & drive on mountain highways, and at times it took my breath. I would apply the gas pedal, it would eventually begin running again. No matter the time of year. It wasn't every day, maybe go along 2-3 months not happens, but it might happen every day for a couple of days. I took the pickup to Town & Country dealer in alamosa co. Twice, they would drive it. The explained to fix it, they would need to see it happen. I decided to drive it. However, today I have to rely on other people to drive it, and I worry now about there safety. I decided to take a trip in September of this year, and I have a friend driving for me. So I decided to research the web on this problem, finding there were several cases of this happening to doge pickups. One fellow was driving 80 miles an hour in the "fast lane", his stalled. He recommended that if you've had this happen to notify your state attorney general. I did, they ask I file it with you. I'm not angry with my dealer, other than the fact they ask me to notify Chrysler, and I told the they should represent me as their customer with the company. I'm 77 years old, been driving over 60 years. I've never hurt another person in a wreck, but this pickup is dangerous. I could trade it in, but that isn't a christian type thing to do to another party. It's a dilemma that I have no answer for. If it were only this pickup it would be different. It's the only mode of transportation that I currently have. My driving is generally over these mountain roads, to pueblo, Colorado springs, maybe denver. Chrysler corporation needs to understand the threat this pickup is over these highways. Help

The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. While driving approximately 75 mph, the check engine, ABS, and ESC warning indicators illuminated. In addition, the speedometer and cruise control seized and the vehicle lost acceleration. The dealer diagnosed the ABS module failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000.
