Cruise control stops working. It is not a fuse per dealer maintenance services. It is the steering column wiring harness for the cruise control and they reported that they see this issue a great deal in the RAM trucks.

The first sign of a problem was when my touch screen radio would randomly shut off and then turn back on again. As it would get hotter it would happen more often. Then the turn signals would have trouble flickering. The check engine light would show up and I've tried getting that figured out. When I was driving it would tell me "service transmission continue in D. Do not shift or turn engine off until you reach a desired location. You may not be able to shift again until serviced" with a blinking exclamation point. It would occasionally also say "service shifter" and sometimes when I would start it, it shuts off immediately.?The worse part of all is when I was driving it doesn't automatically shift gears so I have to pull over and shut the truck off to be able to shift at the speel limit speed. This was all happening repeatedly 6 months ago before I dropped it off at the 2nd dodge dealership. The first one gave up on finding the problem. 1 year later and it's only gotten worse, aside from all the money spent.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle and shifting to DRIVE, the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond. The contact shifted the vehicle to PARK to stop the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to their location for diagnosis. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

Since purchasing the truck in January of 2020 I've noticed a serious delay in time from when the accelerator is engaged to when the throttle responds. This is especially noticeable when the truck has not been running for more than 10 minutes. I assume since this is a common complaint it was occurring before I purchased the vehicle. One of my coworkers who drives the same year and model also has the same issue.

On July 5th, 2019 I was driving down I-95 from beaufort SC to jacksonville, nc going 75mph. I had been using my cruise control for about an hour and traffic was pretty busy but I was still able to maintain a safe distance and continue using my cruise control. As it often does in the carolinas, it began to light rain so I attempted to slow down my speed. As I depressed the break, I lost control of my truck, possibly due to the beginning of water accumulation on the road, but my cruise control would not come off and I could not stop. I ended up running off the road, spinning 3 times and finally stopping backwards in the trees separating 95 North and South. Due to my vehicle being too far to tow, I had to drive it 200 miles back and when I took it to get fixed with my insurance adjuster, they pulled my black box which showed the codes C0051-28, C006A-62 and U0415-00. I was informed my vehicle had about 9 recalls such as 18V332000 so I had taken my truck to the Dodge dealer in November of 2018 to have all of the recalls fixed. I was told by the mechanic who fixed my truck after my accident, that the codes were showing an issue with my cruise control which made sense, seeing how I could not take it off or use my breaks to slow down and ended up hitting the tree line still going 75mph and costing over $13,600. I just wanted to make sure the manufacturer knew that the issues are still occurring.

Truck stuck at high speed, unable to de-accelarate, turned truck to neutral and applied hand brake to gradually stop. Message received on truck;" service throtle body" milage on truck 86463. I was driving about 60 mhp and attempted to pass a slow car when this happen.

Since I've had the aem updated as part of the epa settlement I have delay when pressing the gas and acceleration, particularly when it is cold. There has also been a significant mpg drop although that isn't an immediate safety concern. This can be a particular issue when pulling into interchanges or on to the highway as acceleration is unpredictable.

The contact called the payne auto group dealer, located at 2401 E expressway 83, weslaco, tx 78596, where the technician stated that an unknown recall was repaired previously. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 31,000.

The check engine warning light illuminated intermittently. The local dealer larry H. miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram was contacted about the failure. The vehicle was taken to larry H. miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram boise 222 S auto dr, boise, id 83709 boise, id but was not repaired. The vehicle was also taken to stevens creek Dodge Ram 4100 stevens creek blvd, san jose, ca 95129, where it was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 19V757000 (engine and engine cooling). The approximate failure mileage 68,000.

In order to register my vehicle in California I was forced to accept the V08 emissions recall. After this recall, I have noticed substantial lag between depressing the accelerator and between when the vehicle accelerates. I was told there would be no change in performance by both the dealer and fca. I have almost been in two accidents now because I attempted to execute a left turn and even though I was depressing the accelerator, the vehicle sluggishly rolled through the intersection and then 2-3 seconds later, accelerated rapidly making it difficult to maintain lane integrity while navigating the turn. I generally drive fairly modestly which is why there have been only two life-threatening incidents in the past 3 or so months that I have had the "update". realistically though, this forced update has changed the nature of the truck and made it ultimately more dangerous to drive. All of this behavior began after the noted recall. I spoke with the dealership where the recall was performed, and was told that they have received this complaint from other drivers as well, and that while Ram was aware of the problem, they had no remedy at this time. The date mentioned in the report is simply of the most recent of incidents that I mentioned.

After complying with the V08 (aem) software update due to the Ram ecodiesel emissions update my driving experience/performance has changed dramatically. During acceleration their has been anywhere from 3-6 delay seconds before adequate power and speed can be felt. This is at a full stop such as a stop sin or red traffic light. During highway traffic (passing) or merging into a lane is were is most noticeable. This failure occurs even when engine is properly at operating temperature and is worse right after start up. Since multiple people use their trucks for towing purposes, this greatly increases the effect and even further decreases the performance that is relied upon. The aem software update specifically states "the aem is not expected to change any of your key vehicle attributes, such as average fuel economy, reliability, durability, vehicle performance, drivability, engine noise or vibration, or other driving characteristics." This directly contradicts the class action lawsuit remedy requirements. Due to the failed instant acceleration as well as taking up to 3500 RPM before forward movement can be established in some instances has led me to formally create and record a safety concern that requires immediate attention. Failure to do so puts owners of 2014-2016 Ram 1500's that are affected by the aem update at risk, not only to ourselves but to the other drivers around us. Before this update was conducted there were no engine/transmission/propulsion related issues whatsoever. Lastly as another effect but less important is the obvious decrease in and loss in mpg. Please hold fca accountable and have them address this issue before lives are fatally affected.

This vehicle has a 3.0 eco diesel engine. Chrysler had a recall to update this engine which I had them do. Ever since the update there has been a long pause after pushing on the accelerator till the engine speeds up. This often times results in a dangerous situation when pulling out to merge into traffic. We live near a busy round about and when pushing on the gas to enter, nothing happens so you push down more, then all at once it takes off like a bullet and you hope you don't hit somebody. I have taken it back to the dealer more than once and they say they can't do anything to correct it. I have called the recall number at Ram and didn't get anywhere there either. The dealer said they get a lot of complaints about this but there is no fix. This is a dangerous situation.

While driving with cruise control on and I have to hit the brake to kick the cruise control off.sometimes when I push the button to kick it back on it will not go back on, so I turn the cruise off and back on it will not work until I stop and turn the truck off and start it back up before the cruise control will reset
