On March 2, 2018, as I was stopped on a highway for a car in front of me stopped, with his blinker on and waiting to turn in a driveway, I was rear-ended by someone doing approx. 50 to 55 mph. On impact, my driver's seat broke causing me to lay flat, ripping my grip off the steering wheel and then going into on coming traffic which caused me to head on collide with a chev. Avalanche totaling all three vehicles. I injured my neck, lower and middle back. Also, bruised my shoulder, ribs and upper arm. I have two concerns. I believe there should be better testing of rear-end collisions. I believe if my seat would not have broke, I would have stayed in control of my vehicle possibly preventing my truck going into oncoming traffic. Also, my back and neck would not have received as much whipping motion causing my injuries. My second concern is the airbags not deploying in the head on collision. The Avalanche's airbags deployed but mine did not. I wrote Chrysler an email reporting the incident and my concerns. They appointed Bosch eaa to investigate it the incident and inspect my totaled truck and review the data from my vehicle's computer. Bosch has told me they sent the investigation report to Chrysler to review and they will respond to me within the next two weeks. I believe more stricter testing should be done and seats should be improved to avoided seats breaking in collisions causing injury and death to front and rear passengers. These are the reference numbers to my case with Chrysler. I have a lot of pictures of the accident scene and vehicles if needed. Thank you. While operating the vehicle in the manner in which is was intended, both the front driver and front passenger airbags deployed without warning, unprovoked by any vehicle upset, etc. The sudden deployment of the airbags while driving down the road caused the driver to briefly lose control and have an accident which totaled the brand new vehicle. The driver sustained a concussion, neck, chest and torso injuries. The vehicle was in a residential neighborhood and was traveling under 20mph at the time of the accident. A police report was made but is not available yet. The officer walked the scene and was able to determine that there was no impact of any sort prior to the accident which would have caused the airbags to deploy. Single vehicle accident....updated 08/02/17 updated 08/17/17
