Electronic Shift Module
Customer is unable to shift the vehicle out of PARK - ESM (Electronic Shift Module) rotary knob is stuck in PARK position. Technician observes the vehicle is setting DTCs in the ESM, P0928-00 (ESM detects an internal error with the BTSI Solenoid) and P0705 (ESM controller detects an error with the internal shifter position sensor). Vehicles equipped with one of the following ESM part numbers (68171964AI, 68171965AK, 68517473AA, 68517474AA) with stored or active DTCs listed above should receive replacement shifter part numbers, 68517473AB (without transfer case switch) or 68517474AB (with transfer case switch).
