2500 4WD 6-cyl Diesel

  • miles
On 12/29/2011 I bought the 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel 4X4 4 door truck. The truck was built the 10th month of 2011. The night that I bought the above truck on my way home the truck started pulling to the left. Being night time I could not get out to check it. On Jan. 2, 2012 I returned to the dealer and stated that the truck was pulling to the left. They stated that the truck had been on their lot 6 months and that the tires more likely had flat spots in them from sitting so long and it would work their way out in 500 miles or so. After 500 miles the truck was still pulling the left. I took it the Dodge dealership. They said nothing was wrong. But, they did X rotate my tires and said it should take care of the problem. Everytime you towed with the truck you could not hold it in the middle of the road. Bf goodrich put me on a new set of tires hoping to correct the problem. It did not. I took it to 2 more Dodge dealers and they check the front end but did not correct my problem. I have filed complaints with Dodge complaint department, case # 21958388 and they wanted me to take it to more Dodge front end shops. I refused to since I had taken it to 3 already and I took it to a certified frame shop to see if they could find out what was wrong with the truck. The frame shop called me back and stated that the frame had so many defects that it was unrepairable and if I would come to the shop they would show me some of the problems. Everything they showed me was from 5 mm to 25 mm off. The rear end is setting at about a 5 degree angle which makes the wheel base longer on one side than the other. The truck is always to make a left hand turn on the rear end. The frame shop stated that if Dodge had checked the front end they would have found the problem. There is no repairing this frame. Dodge should buy this truck back before someone gets hurt badly or killed.

2500 6-cyl Diesel

You can not control the movement of the truck when towing. It wonders from side to side of the road. Took to dealer to have the front end checked. It checked ok. Bf goodrich installed 4 new tires at 1900 miles. Truck still road walks when towing. The only way to stop it is to apply the brakes. Otherwise, the swaying motion of the truck, will make you leave the road. I know it is not the trailer that I am towing. Reason #1: I have all the safety equipment to tow this trailer properly. Reason #2: is that I hooked the same trailer on my 2009 GMC diesel 2500 and the trailer towed perfectly. I did this on the same road, on the same day. This Dodge 2500 diesel left the road with me twice while towing the same trailer. The further you drive the truck, the worse the towing problem is. So far, Dodge can not find the problem with the Dodge 2500 diesel. This is definitely a safety problem. If you try to tow over 40 mile per hour. With my 2009 GMC diesel, I can tow this trailer at speeds up to 70 miles per hour with no problems whatsoever. If Dodge can't fix this truck, (a $50,000 truck), I feel that I should get a full refund of the purchase price. Because of right now, it is definitely a lemon. Someone is going to get killed if the problem is not corrected. The reason I bought the truck was to tow with it. Which I can not do, because it is too much of a safety risk and the other drivers on the interstate. I sincerely hope that you will check into this matter.
