I have recently received a recall notice (N49) to replace the left tie rod on my truck. According to the dealer and Chrysler llc, there is a part shortage and there is only 1 part, per dealer, per week, that is supplied. The dealer told me there are 20 people in front of me on the list, which means I am anticipating a 5 month wait and that I should not drive the truck due to potential failure leading to damage and personal injury. That is an unacceptable waiting period to go without a vehicle or being forced to drive in a dangerous situation. The recall notice states to file a complaint if the repair is not completed "in a reasonable time." I also contacted Chrysler llc at 800-334-9200 and made a complaint to them and they offered no other solutions: Loaner, reimbursement for rental, etc.

While driving with a 4 horse trailer attached ( 2 horses inside) we wit a rough spot in the highway and the steering wheel and truck started shaking violently. We applied the brake immediately and had to slow down to get it to stop. It was extremely hard to control and stop. It has happened several times and is very, very scary! we have heard it is called the death wobble.

My safety issue is when a lance truck camper, model 1172 is attached to truck. The cg is 6-8 behind the rear axle (even though both Dodge and lance data sheets indicate it should be over or in front of rear wheel). In addition, when fresh water tank is full (and without a normal camping load), the GAWR of the rear axle is exceeded. 400 pounds of weight is taken off the front axle when the camper is attached to the truck. An inspection of the front tires revealed significant cupping with less than 5000 miles on the new vehicle. The truck with the camper attached is very unstable driving down the highway. I contacted both lance and the dealer I purchased the camper from. Both say there are no issues and everything is in specs.

I was backing out of my driveway with the wheel turned slightly to the right. My truck felt as though it had shifted into 4WD. I stopped, moved forward approximately five feet. Stopped and backed five feet. I then heard an air leak. I looked under my truck and found the tie rod had disengaged, dropped into the inside of the rim, and punctured the rim. My truck was disabled at this time and I called for a tow to the dealer. I researched and found this to be an issue with the 2008-11 Ram truck. There was a recall (L16). This is an extremely dangerous failure for anyone moving forward at normal speeds.
