Aura XE 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 34,052 miles

Took car to dealer for a check up and they found rear pads were completely gone and rear rotors shot. When I told them to fix them under warranty they said it was not their problem and it would cost me. Not 4 months before pads and rotors were fine and was told they had plenty of life left. I had to take to private mechanic that I trusted to replace rear rotors and pads. Cost me a fortune for a car that was 2 years old.

Aura XE 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,399 miles

Again brakes squealing heavily at every stop, has become an extreme annoyance towards the Saturn brand. Dealer once again resurfaced front rotors #3 and rear rotors #2. Really wished this was it.

Aura XE 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,729 miles

This was the third time in 4 months I had brought the car in for brake issues. This time brakes we squeling like a pig at every stop, no matter what. Took it to the dealer and it was determined front pads were worn. Delaer replaced pads and resurface rotros #2.

Aura XE

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,600 miles

I bought a 2007 Special Edition Saturn Aura XE - brand new. I now have 42,600 miles and have been told that I need all new brake pads AND rotors. Front and probably the rear. They won't know about the rear brakes until I fix the front but they are worn down as well. The front is down to 4 mm. The front end shimmy like crazy when you brake. How can a car this nice (and costly) start costing me this much money this soon??? I am so frustrated. I called my local dealership and asked them about it and he says he's never heard of any issues regarding the Aura's brakes. He's been there 2 years. If I have to pay my own money to fix this I will take it elsewhere to have a set of brakes put on then I will trade it in on a Hyundai. I'm extremely disappointed in Saturn over this. This may be the last Saturn I buy. I'm frustrated. Any suggestions from anyone??? I'm in Northeast Ohio.

Aura

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,000 miles

When we first purchased the car BRAND NEW within hours we realized the breaks were whacked and returned to the dealership and they replaced them... we thought that was seriously odd on a NEW vehicle.... but here we are at 45k with warped rotors and bad breaks. Another mention there is a wobble - the car does not run smooth - and we had to replace two of our tires already. Never expected this on a fairly new (well take care of) vehicle.

Aura XE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

I am a first time owner of a Saturn and I have had my share of problems with it. The biggest problem is the brakes. The warped rotors are causing a thumping sound and difficulty stopping. I have told my local Saturn dealer about this time and time again and they keep telling me the brakes are fine. Guess what? I didn't believe them then and still don't believe them now. They are looking the other way and I hope and pray that I make it to the date when I turn this lease vehicle in. The Saturn dealer needs to fix them and keeps brushing me off. Not a very happy 1st Saturn owner.

Aura XE 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,000 miles

I am only here to warn others of brake problems with the Aura.

I have had the front rotors turned twice, once around 9,000 miles and then again around 15,000. The last time the dealer told me that this seems to be a common problem that Saturn is aware of and they are working on a new design. He could not say if there would be a recall or how much would be covered under warranty.

I am now at 19,000 miles with no issues right now.

I have to say that my local Saturn dealer has done a great job of providing quality service. I am hopeful that this will be resolved.

Aura XE 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 24,000 miles

saturn says all auras will have same problem .Manufacturer is aware of problem as I was told by service mgr. but are not willing to correct it .Even after replacing all 4 rotors and pads they said expect it to happen again, its the breaks auras use thats what I was told.I have always bought ford but liked the aura for its unique styling, but will never buy G.M. again ,now I know why they are almost bankrupt the product is crap and customer service is even worse.

Aura XR 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • miles

this is the third time it will go in for the front rotors! has any one else had this issue?:

my 07 aura has 46000 mi and has been to the dealer 6 times for warped rotors. they have been replaced 3 times and resurfaced 3 times. the first time i believe was at 11000 mi.

where are the recalls on this car of the year?

the problem is these brakes are not designed for this car. this car has a six speed auto trans which means when you let off of the gas there is no engine braking. it's like being in neutral. the engine does not help the car slow down.

they put these trannys in corvettes and cadillacs. you know those brakes are not as small as the auras. i havent heard of any pulsing problems in the caddy or vette brakes
