There was a recall on the gear shift box. It was supposedly fixed and corrected in Dec 2015 by capital Cadillac. This past Friday 28 Apr 2017, I was backing in, I put the car in park. The car was still moving so, I put the foot brake on. Later, I started the car, it would not turn but the radio was on. I thought I needed a jump and that wasn't the case, next I had the car towed to capitol Cadillac where I had the the recall done. Paul from capitol Cadillac confirmed it was the gear shift box (cable). The same item that was recalled malfunctioned, again. The dealer wouldn't replace this item because it was 1year and 4 months over the warranty and the special coverage warranty expired in 2016. I've now incurred an out-of-pocket expense due to a recall order that was haphazardly fixed properly 1 year and 4 months later.

Transmission started to shift roughly. Shift from 6th to 5th, or 5th to 4th gear when going up an incline extremely jerky. Car dropped to 2nd or 3rd gear, engine raced to high rpms as speed declined from 60mph. No reverse gear after coming to a stop. Barely made if off the highway while navigating thru densely packed four lane highway speed traffic. Transmission shop estimates exceed $4K.

The messaging display was indicating "traction control" and "engine power reduced" when I was driving and the car started slowing down. I pulled over and waited for a few minutes and started it up again. It drove for a while and then the display came back on. I had it checked but nothing was found. This happened a few times and it seems the problem was getting worse as the car started shaking and making loud noises. I took it back and was told this is a growing problem with this vehicle. I called the dealer and was told that there was a recall on similar vehicle with the same problem but was told my car was not covered, and they did not say why. The local repair shop tells me it is expensive to repair and cannot give more than a 30 days warranty on the repair. This is very frustrated especially since I have done everything as a responsible owner to upkeep this vehicle as recommended. The manufacturer needs to be responsible and do the right thing with integrity.

On December 30, 2016, I started the vehicle and drove a half mile @ 25 mph to a stop sign, I pulled onto ritchie highway when the vehicle would not shift out of second, the engine went to 4,000 RPM, and would not go over 35 mph. I pulled off onto the shoulder, and turned the engine off. After waited 15 minutes. I started the engine and the check engine light was on. I than waited till I had no traffic, and returned home (1 miles away). The vehicle was sifting fine, but the check engine light stayed on' on December 31, 2016, I drove the vehicle to the GM dealership and the vehicle still had the check engine light on, but now when shifting, it would shudder, would not down shift, and was also shuddering in reverse when I was parking the vehicle at the dealership... I'm told on Jan. 3, 2017, that it needs a control value, not covered by the recall # 14404, and that I would have to pay $2,150. The control value is contaminated by debris from the failed 3rd, 5th, and rev. Clutch plate / gears. Why is this not included in the recall? I've contacted GM (case # 8-2633465781) and they can't explain why.. please help.

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact pulled the vehicle into a residential driveway in reverse and parked the vehicle. The vehicle rolled backwards into the contact's porch. It was determined that a gear cable piece fractured without warning. The mechanic indicated that there were two recalls on the vehicle that needed to be addressed with a dealer. The vehicle was unable to be driven. The dealer stated that the vehicle needed to be towed for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified. Parts distribution disconnect. This car has been a bust since the warranty expired. The transmission went out a year ago and was of course a recall for many other Auras except our specific one. Had that replaced, now its the timing chain, which is also a common complaint of the Aura yet there is no recall. The car misfires, shakes violently when in idle and when driving. It has a very hard shift. Its very hard to accelerate and the rpms shoot up. It also stalls and it sometimes just shuts off. Every light in the vehicle is on, check engine, stabilty, etc. It another expensive repair thats worth more than half the car.

'07 Aura xr. Purchased mid-January. Check engine light has been on since I bought it, with no issues other than an exhaust leak at the flex pipe. Started noticing loss of power on acceleration, attributed it to dirty injectors/bad fuel. Put in injector cleaner and premium fuel, car would not start. Finally started and took off only to have same issue, but now worse. Car would almost stall when accelerating from dead stop, have to keep accelerator pinned to the floor when starting, rough idle when running. Next step, replaced spark plugs. Did not fix problem, but still needed replacing. Checked codes: P0016 and P0017 (crankshaft position vs. Intake camshaft position correlation bank 1 fault). Have not taken to dealer to have assessed, but from everything I have read this is a stretched timing chain. Recall #11340C with special coverage for every other GM vehicle with the same problem, but not this one. What a joke. Would rather take the $2K-4K required for the repair and spend it on a competitor vehicle.

I was stopped one evening on my home from dinner when my car would not shift and had to make arrangements to get car to the dealership for the second costly repair...then six months later I received a special coverage letter in the mail. I had followed the process through the dealership for reimbursement and never so quickly got turned down due to the mileage at the time of repair. Prior to 2009, this transmission had issues caused by a very weak 3,5, R wave plate, which made this transmission prone to failure in GM products. Updated wave plates were released for many clutches in 6T70. The old design wave plates weren't stress relieved and could break with use. The updated wave plates are available. First course of action was a tsb number: Pip-4327A owners of 2007-2009 Saturn Aura and outlook, and 2008-2009 Saturn vue equipped with the 6T70/75 6-speed automatic transmission may experience no reverse and slip/flare/harsh shifts in 3rd and/or 5th gear. Codes P0776 clutch pressure control (pc) solenoid 2 stuck off and P0842 transmission fluid pressure 14404A " special coverage adjustment " transmission clutch wave plate I am requesting a recall due to having defective parts...knowingly and waiting until consumers/customers were over the mileage to get out of any type of reimbursement that is due to them. I have never been so disappointed with GM customer service and repeating the same answer back to me every time knowingly that my car repair was due to defective parts....I followed the steps and nothing...as if this is all made up. The incident date above was the replacement of the wave plate, piston and spring, reaction gear etc. I have spoke with [xxx] at GM customer service many times and like I have told her I 'm not going away anytime soon. Sincerely, [xxx] 'information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I reached back out to jack maxson (dealer) regarding the transmission cable failure and was assured by a gentleman @ the dealer that recall was already completed on my car. I was online looking up the issues noted below and apparently this is a more commonly known issue then I was aware of with the Saturn arua's, all of which I was advised being apart of the transmission shift cable matter. To better explain what is going on I hope this list helps you to understand, po these issues are sporadic. 1.shift from park to drive the power lock feature fails 2.shift form drive to park the power unlock feature fails 3.shift to reverse the reverse lights fail to come on 4.cruise control feature stops working (only when all the other feature above mentions stop) 5.shift to park the car rolls.
