My husband and I were going to the movies. Once we arrived, my husband tried to turn the car off and it would not shut off. He kept working on the key and the key came out but the car kept running. We drove back home with out the key in the ignition to see if my key would shut if off. It didn't so we went to the dealership and had to leave it there to be worked on Monday. This is the first and only time this has happened. We are anticipating that it will be under our extended warranty and we will not have to pay the $400 dollars. I have found many other Saturn have had this problem. Therefore, way has there not been a recall? I would like to know how to get this issue on a recall.

I have a 2007 Saturn Ion car. I bought it new. Yesterday 6/25/10 while I was driving I saw a message on the bash board. "trac off' within minutes all the lights on the dash board began to flash, messages were showing up on the dash board. I didn't know what to do. I pulled over on the side of the road and call my mechanic. I drove the car slowly to the shop and barely got there before all of the lights went dead and the car stopped working.

The ignition key does not come out easily after the car engine is turned off. Last year, one day, the key would not turn at all and the engine kept running for about 4 hours before Saturn dealer came to shut off the engine. The dealer replaced the ignition key cylinder. But the problem persists. It is so often now that I am not driving my Saturn. I fear the key will, one day, get stuck and not come out at all. GMC have been informed.

Unable to turn ignition switch off-car runs till fuses pulled or battery disconnected.
- Pittsburg, CA, USA
Once car was on couldn't turn key back to stop vehicle and couldn't remove key. Had to pull ignition fuse under hood and disconnect battery in trunk every time we wanted to start or stop the vehicle. Finally got a new ignition built and that solved the problem but of course warranty was up and this came out of our pockets.

On five separate occasions, our 07 Saturn Ion has stalled while driving. When it stalls all electrical systems fail - can't even put on the hazards lights. The Saturn dealer has evaluated the computer system each time with no result.

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Ion hybrid. While driving 55 mph with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle stalled. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was able to be restarted approximately four minutes later. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they replaced the catalytic converter. The second failure also occurred while driving 55 mph. The contact stated that the interior lights and the steering failed. The vehicle was able to be restarted approximately ten minutes later.
