At the point in time that the last failure of the door sensor occurred (which is what is reported here), the door sensor and or assemblies had been replaced on both sliding doors on at least three occasions. With the last occurrence, which the guy at Saturn indicated he had never seen on another Relay, I started searching the web and found this was a common problem with the vehicle. Being that the last occurrence happened on a highway with a child in the car (thankfully, on the other side, not the side that opened), I decided that I wanted nothing to do with it any further and traded it in.
