Direct full frontal impact @ 35-40 mph into Jeep Grand Cherokee turning left in front of me. Air bags failed to deploy - entire front end demolished (car was totaled). 2 injured and still in physical therapy. Advised by police officer that I probably "nose dived during braking and when front of car dipped, impact was above sensors". have heard of many other instances where air bags failed to deploy.

While in process of parking 2005 Toyota Camry 6 cylinder in one-level parking space traveling at less than 5 mph, with foot on brake, vehicle suddenly accelerated and went out of control, crashing into pole, injuring driver slightly. Was second such incident about one year apart, with stone wall stopping vehicle during first incident, while ripping off entire front end.

The car was rear ended and hit on the left side at a high speed. Neither the air bags in the front nor the side curtains were activated. Also the driver's seat was broken. The car was totaled. Updated11/21/06.

2005 Toyota Camry lurched forward on occasions causing damage to the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy during accident. While parking, on two separate occasions, the vehicle lurched forward while the consumer was pulling into a parting space.. each time the consumer S foot was on the brake pedal preparing to stop. During the second occurrence the consumer's husband heard the engine rev from near idle speed to very high RPM's, at or close to the maximum RPM. The vehicle hit a tree.

: the contact stated the vehicle was stolen on 8-9-06. While the vehicle was stolen it was involved in a crash. The vehicle hit a heavy metal guard rail at a dead end. The air bags did not deploy. There were injuries sustained. The vehicle was totaled. There was a police report filed.

: the contact stated while attempting to pull in a parking space at 2 mph, the vehicle surged and suddenly accelerated without warning. The brake pedal was depressed at the time of the incident. The vehicle went through an intersection and over a public sidewalk before crashing into a fire hydrant. The contact and passenger were wearing safety restraints. The vehicle impacted the fire hydrant with such force that the fire hydrant was extracted 3 feet above ground. The vehicle was towed to the local dealership were diagnostic testing was performed. The local service dealer could not determine the cause of the accident; however the dealer additional testing will be performed before the vehicle is repaired. The police filed a report at the scene and the contact's insurance company also filed a report. There was additional property damage to the sidewalk, fire hydrant and a children's museum that was flooded by the water from the fire hydrant. Updated 2/27/2006 - the air bags also failed to deploy.

Consumer states the driver's side air bag light came on. Toyota said that meant the air bag was inactive and fixed it. While the consumer was driving out of a parking lot the light came back on. He took it back, and they replaced the air bag in the steering column but the light came back on.
