Excessive oil consumption car has about 88,000 miles and the oil light came on about halfway between oil changes. I took it to perryville tire to have oil checked--was told I had none. Took it back to the dealer and they did an oil consumption test, which they told me it passed after they added 1 quart of oil and that this is normal oil consumption. This is ridiculous--I have owned many vehicles and none burned oil at this rate. Normal--bah, humbug. I do have the extended warranty which covers up to 100,000 miles. I do believe Toyota is trying to run out the warranty.

1) front headlamps burn weak and plastic lens covers yellowed over time, latter problem of which is that lenses can't be cleaned by either commercial auto solvents or by local mechanic, creating safety hazard for driving at night. Price quoted for parts alone via Toyota is $818 for headlamp set, plus labor. I have owned 2 other Camry models and never had any issue with headlamp obfuscation due to lens material or bulb composition. This vehicle's headlamp lens composition is filmy to cloudy to naked eye in daylight, not nearly crystal clear as when new.. even if bulbs were replaced the lens would obscure radius and length of headlamp for any night distance driving other than heavily lit streets. Must use high beams at night when possible and when not hazard to oncoming drivers. Even high beam distance dull. Noticed while driving on highway and other cars illuminate their own pathway far better than my own. Night time driving on rural, semi-rural, county, Suburban or unlighted state and local highways in particular are a hazard. 2) engine has regularly burned 1 quart of oil about every 1,000 miles since car had clocked 60K miles. Underwent oil test under extended recall bulletin via Toyota and it deemed car within specs (time of year and type of oil can vary amount of oil burned but recommended 5W20 results in 2-3 quarts a month burned off, no leaks, 75% highway driving.). bigger issue is oil can get dangerously low (at least quarter inch below dipstick low level) and no dashboard warning light comes on. Oil levels must be checked manually at least weekly and/or at fill-up to ensure oil tank has enough oil. Generally have been adding 2 to 3 quarts a month. Despite tech bulletin recommendations, Toyota says I am ineligible for mechanical remediation. Car currently runs and has 160K miles +/- on it. Date below is approximate for 60K mileage..

Went to have my oil check because my engine light came on / my mechanic check the oil stick there was no oil in the car at all. So he check to make sure there was no oil leak there was none. That is when we went to the web site and found out about the oil complication problem. Touch my car to scott clark Toyota and they said there was a recall on my car. They had me drive it a couple of weeks until I reached the mileage they needed for me to get it tested again took it back on 7/23/16 it passed the test and they told me that it was good and that it was only lossing a quart of oil. They would not fix my car because it passed the test. Now I have a car that I need to have repaired because I do not have the money to get another car. With me driving the car with the oil light coming on was my sign to stop and have it checked. If I would have not the engine would have blowned. So I need to know what I can do to now to get these people to fix my car asap.they also told me that it would be six months down the road before I could get it repaired because they already had a backlog of cars that are waiting to be repaired. This was before they let me know it had passed the test. Brad bennick of scott clark toyato told me I could drive my car another 200,00 more miles with this oil problem. I know that if you have a oil leake there's know way you can continue to drive a car with that problem. So I need someone to help me in this matter. Scott clarks is a place I thought cared about there customers but I will not be buying another car from them or telling anyone to purchase a car from this company. So what should I do? this happen on 6/11/16 and took my car in on 6/13/16 for the first oil test.

My vehicle not only got an extremely sticky dashboard but it also started burning oil in between oil changes. I had every recall taken care of as soon as I received it at & also kept up with all of the maintenance on my vehicle at a certified mechanic shop. I have all of my service records & witnesses. The end of 2015 my car started burning an excessive amount of oil in between oil changes. I ended up taking it to the mechanic & he was adding oil in between oil changes stating it was normal for it to burn oil. They also went with a thicker oil to try to fix it.I was also adding oil whenever it started getting low. Well my car overheated & cracked my head gasket. After going onto Toyota website & typing my VIN number in, it states there aren't any recalls or service campaigns. I started saving money up to have my engine replaced so it's been sitting for months. After realizing I couldn't possibly afford it, I went online to get blue book values to sell it.I found out there were 2 tsbs covering my dashboard & my engine burning oil. They are saying something was mailed to me even though I know if I would have received anything I would have had it fixed immediately.after contacting an attorney who had a class action lawsuit against Toyota, he stated to me that nothing was mailed out to customers. After contacting 2 Toyota dealerships & Toyota service, they both ran my VIN # & it shows the warranty enhancement for both problems.customers did not have access to this unless they called the dealership.Toyota service stated to me the only way they would replace anything to do with my engine is if an oil consumption test is run, well my engine is burned up.if my car was being worked on by a certified mechanic & I have service records proving all of my recalls & maintenance was done, they should honor that.there are lots of complaints from other owners stating the same things.

I adhered to the recall ZE7 oil consumption test notice issued by Toyota. Over the next 6months water/coolant was leaking into my engine through what I learned could have been a faulty engine head gasket. My 2007 Camry had never run hot before Toyota took my engine apart and put it back together. They do not want to admit their error. The oil dip stick showed signs of water oil mixture. Later it was like milk. This is when the engine stopped on me in rush hour traffic from over heating. I have been working with the dealer and Toyota headquarters since April 2016 to resolved this. Got the run around. Some technician was scheduled to review this in April and May 2016 but has not. What should I do?

My father-in-law is a auto mechanic. He changes the oil in my 2007 Toyota Camry every 2500-3500 miles. This is well before the recommended 5,000 mile service reminder light comes on. The car always burned oil but over the last year he has noticed that the car is burning significantly more oil. He recommended that I take the car to the Toyota dealer for a oil consumption test. I took the car to route 44 Toyota in raynham MA for the oil consumption test. I brought the car in with 147,212 miles for the test and a oil change. I was told to bring the car back between 148,212 - 148,512 miles. I noticed that after I original brought the car in for the the test, the car would idles at 800 RPM when stopped, after the oil change and test the car idle at 500-600 RPM. I brought the car back to route 44 Toyota for phase II of the oil consumption test with 148,290 miles. The serviced advisor said that the car passed the oil consumption test and was only down 1/2 a quart of oil. The car burns more than a quart of oil every 1,000 miles but the dealer is telling me that it doesn't. I also noticed that the car was back to idling at 800 RPM when stopped.

My vehicle is burning through engine oil faster than normal, I've taken my car to two Toyota dealerships, the first one denied fixing my vehicle due to a female supervisor saying that they wont fix a salvaged car, she then alerted the surrounding dealership's telling them not to fix my car. The dealership is the one in san bernardino California, I then took my car to redlands California to see if that dealership could fix my car and they said that it showed in their system that my car shouldn't be fixed.
