My aunt bought brand new 2007 Camry and transfer to me 2-2018. Notice that engine sound not right. Have to check oil every week. Engine burning oil a lot, have to put 1 quart every 1200 miles, only 67500 miles and now starting to hear knocking noise. Call Toyota and they said warranty expire. Repair at owner cost.

Excessive oil consumption. Takes about 1-2 quarts every 1000 miles, otherwise I run out of oil and it starts to smell like oil when I drive or when car is running. I was headed on a trip today when my car started to drive a little funny and it started to smell like oil again. I was able to pull off to the side of the road and check it and I was low on oil. I put more oil in the car and headed back on my trip. I had the cruise control set and all of a sudden the cruise kicked off and jolted the car while I was driving 70mph. After that it was hard to get my car to shift above the 3rd RPM. Car still has less than 150,000 on it. This problem has been going on for a few thousand miles. It has no oil leaks. There are no lights that go off, has had regular and scheduled maintenance with records.

I have continuously had issues with my cars ignition coils and vsc system. The check engine light and vsc system light is always on and even though I've spent thousands of od dollars on repairs the light continues to pop up even with regular maintenance and multiple repairs. My car misfires and turns off randomly this is very dangerous to drive but I have no other means of transportation. The car misfires in idle, while driving at low and high speeds and it wont turn on sometimes until I connect jumper cables to the battery. When I connect the jumper cables I never need an extra source of power I simply connect one end of the cables to the battery and a few seconds later it all the lights turn on again and the car restarts the whole system.

After the car engine odometer hit 70.000 the car started to burn oil more than normal. I took the car for an oil change and the car had very little oil. Since then I had to add 3 quarts of oil in between oil change at 78.000 and 2 quarts of oil in between oil change at 83.000 miles.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had not notified the vehicle owner by mail that the vehicle was included in a warranty enhancement campaign: ZE7 as the failure progressed. The dealer and the manufacturer indicated that the statute had expired to receive the remedy from the manufacturer warranty enhancement program. The dealer gault Toyota (2205 North St, endicott, NY 13760, (607) 748-1421) had provided more than 2 oil consumption tests but had not provided a permanent remedy to repair the vehicle yet. The contact was also uncertain if the failure was related to an oil consumption tsb 0158-14 and was waiting for a response from the dealer and the manufacturer to determine a permanent fix. The vehicle was not repaired yet. The manufacturer was contacted and the contact was waiting for a follow up response to determine a diagnosis and repair. The approximate failure mileage was not available.

Takata recall. My 2007 Camry le is burning about 1qt/600 oil. The vehicle was in a parking lot when I checked it. Toyota admits this oil consumption issue as a manufacturing defect and still not issuing a recall. I have to add oil regularly between oil changes so that my car doesn't get stranded in the middle of the highway.

High oil consumption, I bought it from a dealership. Fix is 5000-7000$, Toyota is not willing to fix since it surpassed the warranty time period. I am completely helpless. It drinks oil like and I cant see any signs on the ground.

In 2013, I suspected there was an issue with oil consumption & asked the mb service center to begin investigating the issue. At that time, the warranty that came with the car was still active. I returned after driving 1,000-1,200 miles & was told that they were not able to ascertain whether there was a true issue and that it would cost me $800 to open the engine. I left the dealership. In early 2016, I received the T-sb-0158-14 service bulletin from Toyota notifying me that I could take the car in to have this exact issue resolved at no cost. I took the car in to the culver city location, but I returned 3 hours later to find that no work had been done. A member of the service team advised that there was an oil leak that needed to be repaired before they could begin the consumption test. This is my first issue with Toyota's service. Toyota shifted the responsibility to have this oil leak fixed on to me even though I made them aware of an oil related issue more than 2 years prior. A knowledgeable service center member would have known that defective pistons and rings is a directly related cause of a leak. Being that I was not a knowledgeable consumer at that time, the service center was able to shift this responsibility on to me. I had the oil leak repaired and attempted to have this issue addressed a 3rd time when I called to schedule a service appointment in November 2016. The person who answered the phone asked what the reason was for my visit. I explained that I wanted to come back to initiate the oil consumption test and was advised that I had just missed the cut off and that they were not repairing any more vehicles after October 31, 2016. This is my second issue with culver city Toyota's service. There was secondary coverage available for me at that time and I was not made aware of that option. My car would have been eligible for repairs on all three occasions

My Toyota 2007 Camry is leaking excessive amount of oil, there was a recall, but I did not get notification of this problem, until I was online searching for answers to find out why my car, was requiring so much oil, I saw a article which stated that this was a manufacture defect, I notified Toyota about this, they denied my claim. I even called the dealership where I purchased the car Mar jacobs in durham N.C. Mar jacobs stated that there was nothing he could do except try to ge me to buy a new car, no thanks, I just want my car fixed, because this affects my engine and if want to sale my car the value goes down, because of this manufacture defect. I am constantly buying oil for my car every week, which adds up in price. I would like or Toyota honor the recall, its not my fault that this happened to my car.

Toyota dealership performed their "warranty enhancement" test on my car in 2016 to see if it qualified for their known oil consumption coverage and repair. It did not see their criteria. Now my car is consuming 1 quart of oil nearly every 1000 miles and they will not cover the problem.

While driving at an unknown speed, the speedometer gauge failed to provide the correct reading and the ABS control module and emergency warning indicators illuminated. Also the cooling component of the air conditioner failed to function. Furthermore, while at a stop sign, the vehicle began to power down. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ABS control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

Toyota has admitted on 2011 in its technical service bulletin that the engine defect in my 2007 Toyota Camry exhibits excessive oil consumption due to the design defect of the 2az-fe engine. It requires a piston assembly change to minimize oil consumption however the Toyota dealership refuses to repair it at their own cost, this is a very significant repair costing thousands of dollars to fix. They notified me that they will not cover repairs to the engine due to an arbitrary 150,000 mile limit and a very limited time window between 2015 to 2016, after I had already spent money on repairs. This also diminshes the value of my car and more importantly exposes our family to significant safety issues. The engine continues to lose oil, and the engine becomes completely depleted of oil at the time of an oil change (every 3,000 miles) which can lead to engine failure in a moving vehicle and potential injury and loss of life. This is a very serious defect and Toyota refuses to fix.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. While driving uphill with the cruise control engaged at approximately 60 mph, the cruise control failed to disengage when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the transmission failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and case number: 1803150976 was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 136,000. Consumer stated the cruise control requested power, electronic failure between cruise, engine and transmission, causing engine RPM to accelerate with no power from transmission. I hit brake pedal to keep engine from being damaged. Few seconds later transmission thumped/clunked. Transmission damaged from that point. I drove car without cruise control till new transmission was installed. Updated 10/15/18
