My 2007 Toyota Camry xle dashboard is extremely tacky which is causing an unsafe glare while operating my vehicle. I am at the point where my vehicle is becoming increasingly unsafe to drive. No image available at this time.

The dashboard is is shiny and soft like it's melting. We did not receive any notice from Toyota about this and they say they will not cover it, because we didn't get it looked at before the deadline. We were not aware that it was something that was covered to take it in and have it evaluated. Not sure of when it started.

The dashboard apears to be melting.because the dash is melting it gives off a glare on the windshield that affect visibility while driving. It has turned into a sticky mess that no store bought cleaner can clear/clean off. I fell this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed as if affect the visibility of the driver.

I bought my car new and I have never had a problem with the dashboard until June 2017. I took it to the Toyota dealership becuse I read on the internet that this was a defect with the car. I also never reveived a letter from Toyota regarding the dashboard. When I took the car to Toyota they said it was sticky and they ordered a new dashboard. I took the car in then got a phonecall from the service department that Toyota would not cover the cost because it was after May 2017. Now it is becoming a saftey issue becase of the melting it is reflecting on my windshield which is a saftey hazard when I drive the car when the sun is out. Toyata corporate told me they make no exceptions. What can I do?

The dashboard keep melting and sticky hence affecting visibility when driving... I actually took it to family Toyota of arlington but was told the recall was over and I have to pay $1100 which I do not have and cant afford.

Excessive glare on windshield limiting visibility while driving. From news reports as seen on local nbc-tv affiliate (July 31,2019) Toyota admitted that melting dashboards contributed to this safety concern/ windshield glare effect. The melting dashboard had been reported to Toyota (a few months ago for the second time - originally reported in 2014 and Toyota indicated they will review). The second notification resulted in the response that Toyota was not aware of the issue. Issue has been getting worse over the past few years.

Takata recall - my dash has such a bad glare I have to place something over it so I can see safely. The dash is melting so much I cannot even get it cleaned because the dash wipes off with the cleaning rags. It is melting into my sun visor and has a strange odor in the car. This is ridiculous that consumers have to suffer and be blinded, this is a major safety issue esp early in the morning when the sub is so bright! the dash is peeling off in places as well, it pops up and has pieces coming off or wiping off as if they were boiled and very fragile. I have attached photos of the glare, the stickiness that makes everything stick to it and you cannot clean the dash at all or it smudges off as mentioned earlier. The photos also show the dash is melting into my sun shades.

The dash has been melting for years in my 2007 Toyota Camry xle. Since I bought the vehicle, I have used the sun shades and garage as well and still my dash has soften, melted, cracked, chunks come out by simply touching with fingernail etc by mistake. I have never received a recall and owned the car since 2009 and lived St the same address for 15 years until recently. It would be nice to have the defect fixed !!!!! my second Toyota. Please fix it !!

I have a 2007 Toyota Camry that the engine light is blinking and the car is making noise the oil has been charged over a 10 times since I have owned it for a year & bought from a dealer I got it look at by Toyota for them to tell me I need a new engine because my oil pump is going out and rod-main bearings in the engine are bad the fuel injectors. Are going out cant run my a.C because it makes my car turn off I mean come on.

I bought my 2007 Camry in 2006 and it has been great till the last 6 months when the dash board started to get sticky and is now fully sticky and glossy to the point where the sun reflects off it and is blinding. Toyota said they had a recall which I was never notified. The address when I bought my car is the same in my driver's license and I never changed it. I live in buena park since 1991 and my drivers license has that address since I was 18 (18 years ago). I called Toyota and they said the recall needed and its. Ot their concern. I find it irresponsible that Toyota takes no action for faulty manufacturing of their products and shifts the fault to the consumer when I had no idea there was any issues. Secondly when they had the gas pedal recall I took my car in for maintenance and when I got it back they cut the pedal without my knowledge and said a replacement was on back order. I have since 2010 requested the replacement till 2011 and they always said it in back order. I gave up asking because I got excuses. When I'm driving my foot slips off the gas pedal because its shorter. Its hazardous when your making a turn and the car loses acceleration and you have to quickly hit the gas again. This is dangerous when the road is slippery in a front wheel drive. I have contacted Toyota with these concerns and all they say is that there isnt anything they can do.

Its not covered. This is a major safety issue, due to the glare reflecting from the melting dashboard makes it very difficult to see. How this was not a safety issue to begin with surprises me.
