The dashboard glare and sticky falling apart condition is obviously an issue. We were never informed that Toyota was replacing these dashboards. I have a 2007 Camry with only 80,000 miles on it and want to have the dashboard replaced. Obviously they know it was dangerously shiny and sticky as they replace them for 10 years. The national Toyota people told me it was too late for them to help me even though they know it's an issue! what if anything can I do?

My dash is melting, sticky and visibility is impaired by glare. I just found this information out through a friend. I placed a call to Toyota they told me there was a recall on my dash. I did not receive said recall. This glare is impairing my visibility. Toyota said the recall was out of warranty. They will not honor repair. Again I did not receive recalls. I have been at the same address for 20 years. I did receive the other 2 recalls and they have been completed. Now ask yourself if I addressed the other two recalls why would I not have addressed this one. The Camry has 76680 miles on it it has been very well taken care of. I have been the only owner. I think needs to be looked into. Safety hazard work with me here.

Issue 1: recall on sticky dash registered with quality imports of fwb in 2016 and never resolved. I checked back with them repeatedly and was told the part was on back-order. They have now moved locations. Issue 2: driver's side sun-visor will not maintain position. It flops down in driver's vision. Both issues resulted while vehicle was stationary.

Sticky, shiny dashboard. The dashboard has gotten soft and gooey and is now very shiny. It makes it almost impossible to see out of the windshield on a sunny day. I have looked it up on line and it is a very common problem. Supposedly Toyota notified owners and offered to replace some of them but we moved and were never notified. This is a serious safety issue and I cant for the life of me understand why there has not been a full blown recall. Again, on a sunny day there is so much glare from the dash onto the windshield that it is difficult to see out.

I have been dealing with this sticky, cracking dashboard for 2 years now and it progressively gets worse each summer. It started out a little tacky when it had gotten hot from the summer heat and it has progressed to a sticky, gooey mess that cannot be properly cleaned. It reminds me of those old auburn colored fly strips we used to hang from the ceiling when we were kids. Cracks started appearing last summer and now several more have appeared this summer. I was not notified of a recall and I just found it online this morning while searching for a cleaning solution. I plan on owning this vehicle for at least another 5 years and I fear the dashboard will be an absolute disaster by then.

1. background the vehicle dashboard became "sticky" on or about June 12, 2018. The entire dash is now covered with a glue-like residue. The Toyota warranty enhancement program (ZE6) covering this problem expired on May 31, 2017. Toyota has refused to replace the dash under the warranty program (Toyota case #'s 1806131876, 1806210691). 2. safety-related issues a. on warm, sunny days in direct sunlight, the sticky dash has a very bright shine. The shiny dash projects a glossy, textured image of the dash onto the front windshield. This can occur when the vehicle is either stationary or moving. This condition impedes my field of vision and makes it difficult to Focus and clearly see the road ahead, other vehicles, and pedestrians. B. during the summer season, interior car temperatures can reach between 130 and 170 degrees. What toxins are being released in the car interior from the interaction of extreme heat, uv radiation, and the glue-like residue" what are the short and long term health risks from inhaling potentially toxic air in a confined space while driving" summary because of the safety issues noted above, my vehicle should be recalled as soon as possible. I strongly believe that I am driving an "unsafe" vehicle that is endangering myself, other vehicles on the road, and pedestrians. No driver should have to drive an unsafe vehicle due to a manufacturer's defect which results in diminished road visibility and potentially interior car toxins. Therefore, this is no longer a warranty issue but a serious "safety" issue that needs to be addressed.

My visor broke and will no longer stay in place, this is obstructing my view while driving. When looking up this issue I found a old recall for this exact part. "2007-2011 Toyota Camry's were installed with a sun visor that was later recalled due to a defect in the inner plastic body.... making the arm unable to hold the visor in place effectively, increasing the risk of it obstructing the view of the driver." This should not be broken, and if there was a previous recall, I would to have this fixed.

Melting, sticky and shiny dashboard. The shiny dashboard creates a glare on the windshield making a poor visibility. The unsafe and faulty dashboard is preventing a good visibility day or night. I contacted the dealer and they stated that the warranty was for 10 years only. I also contacted Toyota and also stated that the warranty was expired and they could not help me with the problem. The car continues to be in service until I find a solution. The dealer said that it was a very expensive faulty repair.

When you press the push start button to start the car when it is parked, it usually takes 5-6 tries before it turns on in the morning when leaving for work. The light will stay red and won't turn green. I get a message that says check vcs systems. It happens when I leave the car for longer periods. It is not infrequent. It is very time consuming and inconvenient.

Just purchase a 2007 Toyota Camry le from sterling mccall Toyota a few months ago and now just finding out that the car has a oil consumption issue with no indication that the engine had ever had and problems now it's a the engine has possibly blown out or locked because of this issue it will not start. I paid for this vehicle in full in cash from the dealer I'm trying to find out how to get my money back for the vehicle sale price and the other minor repairs that I made to this vehicle. The vehicle could have killed me and my children it just turned off while we were driving home during the day, almost caused a car accident.

The dashboard has recently started "melting" and has become sticky and shiny, creating a very distracting glare while driving in the sunlight that obstructs my visibility. Although Toyota had extended the warranty previously for this problem, I was not having this issue at the time the warranty was offered. When I called them up asking them to replace their defective dashboard, I was told my vehicle was "too old" to qualify and that I would have to pay hundreds (perhaps thousands?!) of dollars out of pocket to fix their own safety hazard. Safety hazards caused by Toyota's own negligence should not be the customer's financial responsibility to fix!

Used nearly 4 qrts of oil in less then 3,000 miles causing check oil light to come on. Added 4 qrts. Just bought car from West herr Toyota. Dealer did a oil consumption test and claimed car used 1.2 qrts in 1100 miles and said its normal. They topped off oil and engine is down nearly 2 qrts after driving 800 miles. Dealer lieing about how bad it is. Taking car back to show them.

I am filing complaint on 2007 Camry because of excessive oil consumption. From research on issue, I understand that safety issues can occur due to the engines siezing up and the car can quit running while I'm driving. Not sure about engine catching fire. I have persued different avenues with Toyota to correct issue since the problem stems from factory engineering. But to no avail. This was already an issue at time I purchased vehicle with 64,190 miles. However, I was not informed of any tsb nor received any notifications of problems. I have had car serviced approximately every 3,000 miles with motorcraft oil. It was not until 8-25-17 when I was asked to sign a disclaimer letting me know oil was off dipstick. When I checked previous records I found out the Camry had been low on oil ( off stick) each time serviced. (my 1997 Camry I owned prior to this 2007 never used any oil in between changes and it had 176,000 miles on it when I let it go). Thus, after the 8-25-17 service and doing research I became aware of Toyota's issues and thus began a fruitless battle with Toyota. It seems that even though I began following up with Toyota as soon as I became aware of issue 8-25-17 that my dofu was 6-27-07. Due to no fault of my own I just missed the deadline. However, I believe wholeheartedly that this is their responsibility and that Toyota should stand behind their product since it is an engineering problem.

The dashboard is melting! this is impacting visibility by causing extreme glare so that it's difficult to see other vehicles on the road on sunny days. I contacted Toyota and apparently our dealership had the wrong city listed for our address which means we didn't get the service bulletin and now we are outside of the 10 year window because we purchased in Nov of 2006. Give me a break! this is one of 5 Toyota's we currently own and the reason we buy Toyota's is because they last. Our Camry just hit 84K miles and I expect it to last many years to come, but the dashboard is melting! we called Toyota today and they said "I'm sorry but you are outside of the window we offered for service" and "I'm sorry your dealership didn't properly update your address when you gave it to them....but you are outside the window". this is ridiculous. How can a melting dashboard not be a manufacturer defect. It's makes visibility difficult due to glare and is a safety issue. Ours didn't become a problem until this summer and now we find out the service bulletin is closed. I see online people are waiting years to get replacements....this is just totally ridiculous. The dashboard is defective and Toyota is not taking any responsibility here. These cars are built to last decades and to have a service bulletin and not an official recall is just wrong. We never received documentation and the problem became severely worse this summer. We're about a year past the 10 years as we bought our car in Nov of 2016. What can we do? this is a significant safety hazard due to the sticky goo that is now my dashboard. You just can't see out the windshield on sunny days, it's a travesty.
